There is also a washer and dryer combo machine.

The couple that own the flat are US/UK based. The flat has all the English charm you will love, with the convenience and comfort that Americans have grown accustomed to. The flat is their London escape and is much loved. It is very welcoming, warm, cozy and comfortable. The perfect retreat in fabulous London.

Very charming flat in central london

  • 5 of 5

The experience was best in class. Karen was extremely accommodating before arrival. She proactively reached out on text to coordinate our arrival.

The flat is in a great neighborhood. Can walk to high street Ken and Notting Hill. Holland park is beautiful.

The bedrooms are clean and the beds are quite comfy. The apartment has everything you need.

It was a typical london flat and a very welcoming experience.

Exactly as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

The linens and towels were delightful. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. A Nespresso machine and a toaster made mornings easy. The kitchen also had everything we need to warm up food from Whole Foods (approx 1 mile) or another nearby restaurant or deli. The appliances all had excellent instructions. There were enough Nespresso pods for several cups of coffee & enough detergent to do several loads.

Friendly staff and nice food at The Crown and Scepter (just across the street) made it a great pub for dinner and a drink.

I would have liked a 'cleaning service' to have been provided (at least once) for guests who stay longer than 7 nights.

A previous review reminding those of us from the U.S that "2nd Floor with no lift" means 2 flights of stairs with suitcases .... was helpful. No air conditioning might be a concern during the summertime but it was not an issue for us.

Thank you for a delightful stay!

A Gem of a Place to Stay in London

  • 5 of 5

The most convenient location for our trip to London, with the best shops and restaurants within walking distance or catching the train or tube to anywhere you want to go. The ultimate in comfortable living for a short or long term traveller. Comfy beds, and furniture throughout is especially relaxing after a long day. WiFi, TV, even a printer! A kitchen for all the comforts of home while away. This jewel is one I will return to again and again. We especially liked the Pub across the street for dinner or a nitecap. FIVE +++ STARS

We stayed 8 nights at this apartment in London and absolutely loved it! It was very conveniently located making it extremely easy for us to explore by transit or foot. The apartment itself was lovely and extremely comfortable. We found the beds and linen to be heaven sent and slept wonderfully. We had a slight hiccup with the television but all was taken care of and compensated for with gracious thoughtfulness. Many thanks to the owner and the management for making our first-ever trip to London a superb experience.

As Advertised

  • 4 of 5

Living room looks exactly as in photo. The apartment is on a busy street, but the street traffic did not permeate the apartment,( although we did not have the windows open). The neighborhood is friendly and very safe, and the building very quiet and clean. And a shout out to the Crown and Scepter across the street. The staff there was very helpful and kind to us. The apartment bedrooms were pristine, and in the back of the apartment, overlooking a garden, and so despite the busy neighborhood, even with open windows, the rooms were quiet.

The bathroom is large, very clean. We did note (as women) that although a hair dryer was provided, there is no outlet in the bathroom (that we could find) and no mirrors in the bedroom to use for hair drying. Small issue but annoying.

More problematic in the bathroom, the tub has high, narrow sides, so with the shower running, and no traction, one needs to be careful not to slip.

As walkers, we liked the location but it should be noted that the closest train/tube stop to the city is about a 15 min walk. The stop at Olympia arena behind the apartment was not amendable.

Lastly, for all Americans, this apartment is on what we call the third floor.

It turns out, we didn't know, that in Britain, the first floor is zero; so it is not incorrect that the apartment is advertised as second floor. But know that you walk down short hall , then up a flight (22 steps ) down another short hall and up another 22 steps to the apartment. With luggage, this is a workout and in the states, we'd call this the third floor. No matter, in this building, it's the top floor.

The apartment is across the street very a well stocked quick grocery which was very useful.

This was our second stay at this apartment and it just keeps getting better. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and the location is so close to everything! Great pub and small market across the road and minutes from the buses and tube station. It is well appointed and very clean. The beds are exceptionally comfortable . We will definitely book again!

London is full of wonderful examples of English townhouses. There are lots of beautiful examples of townhouses across the city from traditional townhouses like you might see in a Disney cartoon to luxury modern versions. 43 Holland Road (close to Kensington Olympia, London) is certainly a more traditional London townhouse, just like you might find Roger and Anita living in in Disney’s 101 Dalmations. Holland Road is stylish in a wonderfully old fashioned way, a place of secluded peace close to the heart of one of London’s most exclusive borough’s, the Royal Borough of Kensington with a wealth of attractions.

Your holiday home on Holland Road sits close to several of London’s top attractions and tourist destinations. Within a short walk (less than 5 minutes) is Olympia, one of London’s largest exhibition spaces. Year round you can find events from industry conferences, wine and food, arts, fashion and special interest fairs. You can find out about what’s on at Olympia during your stay and book tickets here.

A 10 minute walk towards Kensington High Street takes you to London’s Design Museum, one of the world’s leading museums dedicated to all things design, from architecture to fashion and product or graphic design. Wander a little further down the street and you will come along to Kensington’s high street. Here there is a great mix of gorgeous shops, bars, pubs and restaurants, as well as a gateway to South Kensington; London’s museum quarter. Explore a rich world of history, science and world cultural heritage in this cluster of free museums plus iconic buildings. Wander the grounds of kensington Palace Garden and the Royal Albert Hall.

Kensington high street is one of London’s premier areas for shopping, dining and elegant relaxation. The high street effortlessly blends traditional Victorian and modern architecture to create a corner of London which emotes real elegance. Behind this beautiful facade, Kensington has a genuinely inviting nature. High street highlights include Whole Foods Market, great for a healthy, organic lunch on the go and Urban Outfitters.

Above the bustle of Kensington high street, you can find Kensington Roof Gardens, one of the many oases of calm and greenery around Kensington. The gardens are atop a beautiful old building and is home to award winning restaurants, well stocked bars and even the occasional resident flamingo!

The South Kensington museum quarter is around a 25 minute walk or bus ride from Holland Road. Here you can find the Natural History, Science and Victoria and Albert Museum’s. These really are London’s gems and are world renowned institutions of research as well as being fantastic days out for people of all ages. Entry to the museums is generally free, though special exhibitions and temporary attractions usually have a fee. If you’re visiting in winter you might see the famous ice rink in the splendid grounds of the Natural History Museum.

Head west from your apartment on Holland Road, and you’ll come to Hammersmith which is well known for theatres and live entertainment venues such as the Lyric theatre, Hammersmith Apollo and the Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Wander a little further down to the river and you’ll find great bars and pubs where you can catch a drink and watch the sunset over the Thames.

If you are looking for world class shopping, then the Westfield Shopping Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in Europe. You can find everything from top end designer labels to highstreet favourites. You’ll also find streets of restaurants, cafe’s and bars as well as a multiplex cinema.

The Kensington vacation apartment at 43 Holland Road is under 5 minutes walk from Kensington Olympia station. From here you can take tube and rail services across London, reaching Heathrow terminals 1,2 & 3 49 minutes or international train services via Eurostar in as little as 30 minutes.
