Deer Hollow is ideal for a fun and relaxing mountain retreat perfect for a couples getaway or a family vacation! Our cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a pullout sofa in the living room. The wrap around deck off the back of the cabin looks over the fire pit area, and comes equipped with a grill, hot tub and rocking chairs. The deck is also a perfect spot to watch the sunrise or the deer who are frequent visitors on our property.
I loved the fact that we were far enough off the beaten path but not too far away, The Town of Blue Ridge is so pretty and the shops and food establishments are just great. I left my favorite pillow at the cabin it was sent back to me right away, There was enough cooking pans and all kitchen Items were good. I would recommend this property to everyone, It is so nice..
We enjoyed it, peaceful, hikes, Jacuzzi, has fireplace was nice, Would definitely go again,
My kids and I had an amazing time together at Deer Hollow! We spent so much quality time together, that I know one day when they're my age they'll still remember this vacation and tell their children about it. We did a bonfire every night and roasted hot dogs and did s'mores. My son loved the tree swing, I had to call him in several times because he just couldn't get enough of it! We sat around the fire and talked and laughed. The hot tub was a great plus!!! After taking the kids horseback riding and Zip Lining at Hell's Hollow...that hot tub saved my muscles! We hiked up to Swinging Bridge and it was just breathtaking! I highly recommend it. Downtown Blue Ridge is very quaint...everyone is so kind, but they close shop there at 5. The drive through the mountains was incredible. The view, the sky line, the air, well...it was really like a dream. To be quiet honest, we didn't want to leave. I was tempted to get in touch with the owner and find out if we could extend our stay, but I didn't. There was still so much for us to do and see! I know now that when we make plans to come back, I need to stay for a minimum of 10 days! Not joking! There's a gem mine on the same mountain that Deer Hollow is on and my kids had a fantastic time there! After we left Hell's Hollow...we were starving and someone suggested a restaurant called Habanero's in McCayville, TN...I was born and raised In Texas so I know my Mexican food...this place was Excellent! It's not a far drive at all. We made a few visits to the local Walmart and Tractor Supply!!! It poured rain every night, so we needed some rubber boots! The sound of the rain on the roof was so calming. Wow! It reminded me of home in Texas. I grew up in a log home with a tin roof on the swamp on the bayou, it took me back to the good memories. We wanted to go kayaking, but due to the large amount of rainfall they've had, they weren't allowing any kayaking, but that's ok, because we'll be back! So...if you're looking to spend some serious quality time with your kids and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and want to go somewhere gorgeous and get your mind right...I highly recommend Deer Hollow! You WILL NOT be disappointed. That's saying a lot for me...we are an Active Duty Military family and have been many places, to include Disney...my kids would choose Deer Hollow over Disney any day and they are 8 and 13!
I would rate this cabin more than a 5 if I could. It was perfect! My husband and I used it for a romantic getaway. We stayed 3 nights. The cabin was well stocked with what we needed to make breakfast. We loved using the hot tub. We had a issue with it at first but the owner quickly responded to us and we were able to fix the problem very quickly. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone! We did not take our two boys but were happy to see a room stocked with several varieties of things for kids to do if we get to come back with them.
Excellent place for a get-a-way!!!
The property was well maintained and everything is provided at the cabin. Just bring food and you won't even have to leave.
My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing time here. We especially enjoyed hiking at Amicalola Falls and Springer Mountain, then coming home to the hot tub and fireplace. Nothing like soothing sore muscles while you watch the sunset! We saw more cows and horses than we did people - which was perfect for us!
Deer Hollow is located just one mile from the Toccoa River! There are several places near our cabin where tubes and/or kayaks can be rented for floating on the river. Hiking is one of our favorite things to do while staying at Deer Hollow, and there are many different trails within minutes of the cabin. Downtown Blue Ridge is about a 30 minute drive from Deer Hollow, and there you will find many shops & restaurants.
