This private cabin is located one-half mile from the main road and is the ideal get-a-way retreat for a cozy, relaxing get-a-way vacation for a couple or small family (up to 4 people max). The cabin is on 1/2 ac. and only 15 minutes (8 mi.) from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The North Fork of the Big Thompson River runs thru the middle of Glen Haven.

Glen Haven is surrounded by Roosevelt National Forest (designated wilderness area). This is a great spot to stage your hiking, photography, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, biking, or other outdoor activities within the great Rocky Mountains, or just relax. This cabin is 750 sq. ft. with one bedroom that includes a new queen size log bed with new mattress, new wood floors, 32" TV with access to Netflix, comfy recliners, and futon. About Marsha & Ken Hobert

We have lived in Glen Haven since 1981 and wouldn't live anywhere else. Glen Haven is a small, private community, outside of Estes Park.It is so beautiful and peaceful with the sound of the river at our doorstep. There are easy trails into the forest following the sound of the river along the way.

Marsha & Ken Hobert purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Marsha & Ken Hobert chose Glen Haven

We bought this property in 1998 as a year round rental property and we just turned it into a vacation rental as so many people who have stayed at our other property (VRBO #228250) wanted to know if we had another property with different amenities.

What makes this cabin unique

The best thing about the Glen is the sound of the river and the wonderful, private community. We look forward to personally showing you to the cabin for your relaxing visit. This property has more amenities than our other listing (#228250) with new wood floors, a new washer/dryer, dishwasher, new log bed with new queen mattress, 32" TV, and more. The cabin has wonderful, large windows facing South.

WOW! We cannot express in words (but we will try) how wonderful this little piece of heaven is! It was the perfect place for our family! We loved Glen Haven! Cinnamon roles at the General Store were an added bonus! It was the right place for our busy lives. The cabin, Glen Haven, and RMNP made our lives slow down and enjoy what God has given to us.

#1 priority for me as the mom of my family when we stay somewhere is cleanliness! This was top notch! The cabin had so many added extras. We were impressed with what was all supplied including what's needed in a kitchen. (Wifi, phone, Netflix, movies, books, etc were added bonuses) We loved the washer and dryer, bathroom was clean, and the grill was great! We had picnics during the day when we were out hiking and grilled at night. We only ate out once in Estes during our 5 night stay. We chose to eat like this to escape the hustle and bustle of eating out and to spend more quality time together, but because everything was supplied our packing was a whole lot easier. The deck was great for relaxing. We have teenagers. They slept on the futon and we had the bedroom. Plenty of room for our family of four.

The scenery around the cabin is beautiful. Every night towards dusk we would head out (even after a hiking day) to find wildlife on Devil's Gulch Road which leads to Glen Haven. We were never let down! Numerous elk and deer were out each night. Even saw a bear taking a nap near the edge of the woods. The road leading to Glen Haven and the traveling back to the cabin in the woods is what peacefulness should be.

Ken and Marsha were wonderful to work with. They were very helpful and friendly! We want to say thank you to them for sharing this cabin with our family. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend a stay here! We will be sharing with our family and friends!

Cozy cabin convenient to Estes Park...

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin close enough to Estes Park to enjoy, yet far enough away to relax. Be sure to checkout the General Store.

Really nice place for a small family

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay. Here is our feedback:

1) outdoor on the deck is very nice and relaxing. Saw chipmunks and what I think was a fox.

2) WiFi was great! Plenty of bandwidth to handle a very online family!

3) bed was very comfortable. For our children (ages 11 and 14) the futon was great. I doubt it would be great for adults.

4) the kitchen was wonderful and allowed us to save some $ by eating in.

5) bathroom was really good. Our only suggestion for the future is see about increasing the water pressure in the shower.

6) location is about 20 minutes from Estes Park.

7) the hosts were amazing! We didn’t need to call them about anything, but they live next door and we’re very available if we did.

8) just know the afternoon storms are common in the mountains. We even had a hail storm one afternoon.

Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for everything!

FYI, the only reason for 4 stars is because water pressure is really important to us. But had a wonderful time!

Very pleasant experience

  • 4 of 5

The property was exactly as advertised, comfortable, well equipped picturesque and secluded. The only issue was our cell phones had no reception so arrival was complicated. The owners were local and very helpful. It was a perfect base for the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Relaxing Time

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cottage from 5/28 to 6/1 and had a really nice time. The cottage was very accommodating, clean, and relaxing. I wish we would have had warmer weather so we could have enjoyed the deck more, but we knew late May would be risky in Colorado. Binge watched The Office in the evenings which is something we never do at home. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT time. Marsha couldn’t have been nicer when showing us around the cabin. Great hostess!,

Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for better weather. The cabin was easy to locate, clean, and very quaint. We loved being able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the back area of the cabin that acts as a sun room! Restaurants and shopping were only 15 minutes away in Estes Park. We enjoyed seeing elk and catching up on some definitely needed R&R! Will definitely return if the opportunity presents itself!
