Come and enjoy your very own lakefront paradise in Talkeetna! Situated on over 6 private acres, you will feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere as you gaze out at the calm lake, yet just down the street you will find everything you need to stock your kitchen from a full line grocery store.
The house consists of a large deck overlooking Little Montana Lake, a private green lawn, a paddle boat, rowboat and canoe with enough life jackets for 6 adults (boating experience needed for the canoe), fishing poles, and beautiful walking trails along the lake right next door at the local high school.
The house has 3 bedrooms- one king bedroom upstairs, one queen bedroom upstairs, and one queen bedroom downstairs. A trundle bed is set up in the living room, which consists of 2 twin mattresses total, but can be converted to a king bed with a mattress topper. 8 are comfortably accommodated with this arrangement. 2 baths include a full tub/shower combo downstairs and a spacious double sink vanity with walk in shower upstairs. The house is also equipped with WiFi, a land line telephone for local phone calls, and a 65” flat screen TV with a selection of DVDs to choose from, or rent a new release at the grocery store across the way.
The Talkeetna Lake House is the perfect place to vacation in Alaska, with nearby award winning restaurants, world class fishing, flights to Denali- the highest mountain peak in North America, marine tours along the Talkeetna river, local shops to browse through, beautiful trail systems-including a 14 mile paved path that you can connect to right from the house, and conveniently located on the way to Denali National Park, the opportunities to enjoy this area are too numerous to mention.
Derek and Jessica Pearson were both born and raised in Alaska. They have been coming to Talkeetna together for over 10 years, and were lucky enough to move there in 2010. They have always loved summertime events in Talkeetna, to include camping, restaurants, festivals, fishing, and softball. Now they get to enjoy all the same things and more, with their busy little boy and girl. They know you will find a few special things about Talkeetna as well!
Jessica Pearson purchased this house in 2012
This property was special to Derek and Jessica because of its lakefront location first and foremost. Jessica knew that having a lakefront home would be something she could enjoy and share with her family as she did growing up in a lakefront home an hour south of this location. Derek also grew up in a private setting among open forests with abundant wildlife an hour south of the house, so he knew the private setting was something he would enjoy as well.
The best thing about this home is the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere, yet at the end of the driveway are all of the modern conveniences needed to live comfortably....without all of the traffic!
Our stay at this place was so fantastic. All of the extra stuff available like the bikes and boats and the washer and dryer left us wishing we had more time. Talkeetna is a bit of a drive but it is nice to be outside of the tourist staple area to just relax. We loved it here!
Wished we could have stayed longer. This was our second of three VRBO stays in Alaska during our 10 day vacation. We were welcomed with a greeting card to include chocolates and a gift card to local grocery store, a very nice touch. The house was conveniently located with easy access, and no visible neighbors. The only disappointment was that we would have liked to take one of the boats out on the lake, but was concerned about the water level and our ability to get into the boat without weighing it down too much. The beds were super comfortable and we have already purchsased a similar mattress pad for our own home. Thank you! Jessica was a pleasure to work with, and we would definitely stay here again if ever we make it back to Alaska!
We had a great time at Talkeetna lake cabin. The weather was a bit rainy, but we were still able to enjoy the lake. We spent a lot of time fishing and paddling around the lake in the boats provided. The place was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The owners were very nice. Can't say enough good things about it. I highly recommend the lake house for vacation.
This lake house was so nice to come to while visiting the area for our son's wedding. We had 7 adults staying and it was spacious and comfortable. The full, nicely equipped kitchen allowed me to make a large batch of Jambalaya for the wedding and the hosts were great to make sure we had the right sized stock pot to make the job easier. We relaxed on the decks, went paddle boating on the lake, played checkers and watched a movie when we were not at the wedding or exploring Talkeetna. We all said we would love to return to this lake house again. Thank you, Jessica and Derek, for such wonderful hospitality!
The lakehouse has come to be one of our favorite parts of our Alaska vacation. Everything about it was fantastic. Jessica was great and easy to get a hold of. She called us to let us know when the property was ready and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The house is in great shape and includes everything that you may need. The property was even better. The trails around the lake for morning runs, the boats for the lake, the patio for the evenings and the fire pit for smores. I wish I could spend more time there. If you are looking for a great place to stay while visiting Denali, Talkeetna or the surrounding area I would recommend this place. As an added bonus the grocery store and Denali Brewery are right down the street.
Our group of 8 was very comfortable and well accommodated at Talkeetna Lake House. The house and property are every bit as beautiful as the photographs depict, if not more. An especially nice touch is the wildflower garden just off of the deck. It looks both slightly wild and slightly cultivated. The house is convenient to the town of Talkeetna with all of it's activities, outfitters, restaurants and shops and nearly across the street from a terrific grocery store. We grilled and ate a lovely dinner on the deck overlooking the lake. We used the canoe and paddle boat to get out on the lake where we saw cranes, hawks, gulls and countless other birds. I would recommend this lovely spot for any group or family.
Subway and new Tesoro at the end of the driveway, along with bank, hardware store, and grocery store just seconds away. Visit the Su- Valley High School trails next door, where you can view the lake and Mount McKinley at points. The town of Talkeetna, filled with shops and restaurants is just 15 minutes away.
