About Jessica Pearson

Derek and Jessica Pearson were both born and raised in Alaska. They have been coming to Talkeetna together for over 10 years, and were lucky enough to move there in 2010. They have always loved summertime events in Talkeetna, to include camping, restaurants, festivals, fishing, and softball. Now they get to enjoy all the same things and more, with their busy little boy and girl. They know you will find a few special things about Talkeetna as well!

Jessica Pearson purchased this house in 2012

Why Jessica Pearson chose Alaska

This property was special to Derek and Jessica because of its lakefront location first and foremost. Jessica knew that having a lakefront home would be something she could enjoy and share with her family as she did growing up in a lakefront home an hour south of this location. Derek also grew up in a private setting among open forests with abundant wildlife an hour south of the house, so he knew the private setting was something he would enjoy as well.

What makes this house unique

The best thing about this home is the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere, yet at the end of the driveway are all of the modern conveniences needed to live comfortably....without all of the traffic!

Fabulous Lake House

  • 5 of 5

We were a party (literally) of 6 adults, 3 cousins and their spouses. We arrived at the Lake House at midnight. Since it was still light out :) , it was easy to unpack and get moved in. We were most appreciative of Jessica's excellent directions. GPS took us directly to the property. Had a little trouble with the lock box, which we reported by text to the owner. She immediately fixed it for the next group of visitors. We were so excited, it was difficult to go to bed. We felt as though we were in our own home. We celebrated with cookies and wine! The Lake House was charming, comfortable, and everything the VRBO pictures portrayed. All of us highly recommend the Talkeetna Lake House. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer because we had a cruise to catch.

This was our first experience with VRBO. I hope other VRBO experiences will be as good.

Fabulous Family Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had such a wonderful time enjoying the Talkeetna Lake House. We could tell from the moment we walked in that we were in for a treat, and we all agreed it is the best vacation rental we have stayed at to date. Everything is spotless and smells of fresh laundry, the view from the deck is priceless, and every detail has carefully been considered by the thoughtful owners. We felt so at home for the six nights we enjoyed the home, and our two children were just as impressed! We would highly recommend this gem of a lake house, and we hope that if our travels take us to Alaska in the future that we would have the pleasure of enjoying this home again. Thank you, Jessica and Derek!

Perfect Vacation Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at the Lake House. We were all so impressed with the property and the attention to detail and care that Derek and Jessica have taken to make this a wonderful home for vacationers.

Prior to arrival, Jessica was proactive in communicating with us regarding our visit. She even searched for, and found, a can of bear spray when I emailed to ask her if there would be any available at the house. She also checked to see if we needed the trundle bed, and since we did, she made it and had it waiting for us. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived, and we were pleasantly surprised to find packages of chocolates, a personalized greeting card, and even a gift card to the local grocery store that was within walking distance of the cabin. We could already see what great pride Derek and Jessica take in their property and making their guests feel welcome.

The view from the Lake House is beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck. We appreciated all of the things that were available for us to use--barbecue grill, bikes, boats, fishing equipment, fire pit/wood, Keurig coffee pods/tea bags, a wide selection of movies, portable fans, washer/dryer, and one of our group's favorite features: blackout curtains! We were able to get a good night of sleep every night (even though it was light outside) thanks to the blackout curtains and comfortable beds.

The Lake House has so much charm and character, and we could tell that Derek and Jessica work hard to make it a perfect place to stay. We were sad to leave, and we would definitely return to the Lake House or wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone else who visits Talkeetna, AK or the surrounding area!

Alaska vacation

  • 5 of 5

We (seven adults) enjoyed our three day stay at the Lake Home outside of Talkeetna. The views from the deck were wonderful, and we used the paddle boat to explore the lake and get some pictures of Denali. The house had everything we needed, with a couple of stores within walking distance. Jessica was great, and was very responsive to our questions. We would say here again!

The Amazing Lake House

  • 5 of 5

I cant say enough good things about this property. Its sits off a beautiful lake that you can canoe around and its' very close to Talkeetna. The Owners Derek and Jessica go above and beyond what you would expect. When my two teenage boys and husband walked in the house we were greeted with a box of chocolates! Who does that! :) upstairs in the master bathroom there is a basket that has various toiletries just in case you have forgotten something. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and well furnished and designed, There is plenty of room for a group of adults or large family. The porch had a BBQ and chairs and there were also chairs and a fire pit down by the lake for s'more time, they thought of everything. I loved the house it was truly picturesque I would go back in a heartbeat and reccomend it to everyone. Great job Pearson Family.

A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were looking for a place to celebrate a surprise early father's day and we were browsing for 3 days from different hotel websites to airbnb in the state of Alaska. Finally, we came across this website homeaway.com and I clicked on the Talkeetna Lake House's link due to the picture that captured our attention. We knew right then, this would be the perfect place for us. However, there was one downside, the maximum occupancy is only 8 people. There are a total of 14 of us so I then messaged Jessica to see if they would be able to accommodate our group. Within minutes she responded very kindly and she also included the total price for our stay. So we made the reservation one week prior to our stay which was a little rush and we thought that the place might not be quite ready when we got there. To our surprise when we got to the Lake House, we were amazed and astounded with the scenery, how stocked up the kitchen cabinets were with cooking supplies, with all the movie selections for the kids, the toys they had, and how she provided a little extra of everything for our big group and of course, the lake house itself. This place was perfect for us, with all the activities they had to offer, from boating, to biking, to barbecuing and to just enjoying the beauty of nature. We all had a great time and none of us wanted to leave. Before we left we were already planning our next stay. This place is a dream house for a lot of us, and is the perfect long weekend get away from the city and our busy life. So, thank you Jessica and Derek for accommodating our group and we look forward to spending more summers here.
