2 bedroom luxury cottage with butterfly garden & hottub in cliff top location
About Charlotte Thomson
I am a Cornish girl through with a passion for property, and more importantly, Cornwall! I live in here with my fiance and 3 beautiful chihuahuas, running a family Seafood restaurant in Truro. Our little family enjoy Cornish life and live it to the full - There is so much to do here! Walking, fishing, soaking up the sunsets, bodyboarding, relaxing with a cream tea, dog-walking, sunbathing, eating fish and chips on the beach, shopping, seal watching... The list is endless and we wouldn't live ANYWHERE else, in the world!
Charlotte Thomson purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Charlotte Thomson chose Charlestown
As soon as you step into the property you will see for yourself, it doesn't need to be sold! But as a little teaser, try to imagine dolphin watching from your bed, watching the tall ships glide into the harbour from the bath, sipping Champagne in the hot tub whilst you watch the tide come in, walking 200m down the romantically lit path to the local restaurants for dinner, or snuggling up in the lookout with a hot chocolate enjoying a novel... Romance, luxury, elegance, and character are all combined beautifully in our seaside retreat.

Fantastic place and location
Just left this property after a 3 night stay, with our 7 year old son. I only have one criticism, we didn’t stay longer!. An amazing property, fantastic location for local surroundings and an excellent base for exploring Cornwall. With walks and beaches on your doorstep, together with enough restaurants and cafes in Charlestown to provide a good choice, without being too over crowded, it’s going to take some beating. Thank you Charlotte, a truly amazing property.
Lovely property in an excellent location.
An ‘Amazing Space’ indeed ...
Where do we begin? Everything about this gorgeous cottage is practically perfect. We can not fault Harbour Lights in any way! The cottage was immaculate and impeccably cleaned, the views: surreal doesn’t quite fit! Charlotte and Joey, the amazing space you have created is truly magical. A little slice of holiday heaven. We have captured so many photos over the course of our stay, and it’s safe to say that none of them do Harbour Lights any justice! The beauty of not only the accommodation, but the location and surroundings of beautiful Charlestown are really quite something. From the stunning interiors; (I need a new bath now...) to the gorgeousness of coastal walks along the cliff tops - Harbour Lights ticked every box! Teddy’s first trip to Cornwall has certainly spoilt him -there isn’t dog friendly accommodation quite like it! Every little touch, every little detail has been so carefully thought of. We cannot thank you enough for crafting such a splendid space to experience Cornwall in. Harbour Lights is truly unique in every way possible...
Harbour lights Dreamy stay
We loved our stay at Charlotte’s dream home, we normally use our home as a base to explore the area but this house and outside space meant we could not bear to leave. As a keen gardener I adored the outside space - and that view ! Oh boy The sound of the ocean as you lay in bed ! Also located in Charlestown. Beautiful location with great food and drink literally on your door step. Cute little Gin and Rum bar was a nice surprise. If anything the photos don’t do it justice. We hope to come back as it was truly one of our best holidays. We are also hope to book a stay in your new pad ! Thank you Charlotte- Beard Family
Location location location. The cottage is a gem and it exceeds all expectations.
The owners love to detail gives it the notch above other luxurious rentals.
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme.
It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property. Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.
The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.
You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way? Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats.
The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set.
So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
