Gorgeous cottage with amazing sea views
Charlotte was a fabulous host . Cottage was everything I could of hoped for. Easy check in and 2 minutes walk to lovely restaurants . Will definitely return.
Perfect Birthday Break
We had a great (extended!) stay at Harbour Lights in Charlestown. The property was great, but the views...they were just amazing! All sorts of little things considered and provided for by the owners, really appreciated! The weather was hit and miss (England in March) but it didn’t dampen our spirits. Would highly recommend the Long Store Restaurant for both Saturday Brunch and Sunday Lunch (good quality food). Also really enjoyed popping into the (small) Charlie’s Coffee House. All in all, would definitely return. Thank you Charlotte!
Harbour Lights, Charlestown
Great location in a picturesque Cornish shipping village. Wonderful views over the harbour. Charlotte has created a warm, cosy and tastefully decorated relaxing rental property. The scones with jam & clotted cream, and bottle of bubbles that we found when we arrived was an especially nice touch. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would return.
Escape in charlestown
We have returned to this property several times now. It is really lovely. A great place to reset and make time for yourself. Loads of lovely places to eat and drink in Charlestown without using the car along with walks on the coast path and beach. Perfect 👌
A gorgeous cottage in a fabulous little village .... we didn't want to leave!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme.
It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property. Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.
The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.
You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way? Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats.
The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set.
So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
About Charlotte Thomson
I am a Cornish girl through with a passion for property, and more importantly, Cornwall! I live in here with my fiance and 3 beautiful chihuahuas, running a family Seafood restaurant in Truro. Our little family enjoy Cornish life and live it to the full - There is so much to do here! Walking, fishing, soaking up the sunsets, bodyboarding, relaxing with a cream tea, dog-walking, sunbathing, eating fish and chips on the beach, shopping, seal watching... The list is endless and we wouldn't live ANYWHERE else, in the world!
Charlotte Thomson purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Charlotte Thomson chose Saint Austell Bay
As soon as you step into the property you will see for yourself, it doesn't need to be sold! But as a little teaser, try to imagine dolphin watching from your bed, watching the tall ships glide into the harbour from the bath, sipping Champagne in the hot tub whilst you watch the tide come in, walking 200m down the romantically lit path to the local restaurants for dinner, or snuggling up in the lookout with a hot chocolate enjoying a novel... Romance, luxury, elegance, and character are all combined beautifully in our seaside retreat.
