Overview

About the property

Distinctive & Chic 2 Bedroom/1 Bathroom Terrace Cottage

Located a stones throw away from Hampton Court Palace, home to Henry VIII, this 17th century end terrace cottage in East Molesey is the perfect base to explore both Central London and the surrounding historical landmarks along the river Thames.

Set in a quiet conservation area, this quintessential English cottage will allow you to relax in a sleepy village atmosphere, yet is well connected to transport hubs to take you quickly and cheaply into central London and all the tourist attractions of England's capital city. It is also close to the M4 motorway to travel out into the rest of England, Wales and Scotland.

The cottage has two bedrooms on the top floor; one Master Bedroom with a King bed, and one bedroom with a Queen bed. It is ideal for a family of 2 to a maximum of 5, with no more than 4 adults & 1 child or infant (child or infant would sleep in crib - not supplied - or one of our air-mattresses in the Master Bedroom). One additional adult MAY be accommodated on another air-mattress downstairs in the living area, but this would make the cottage feel quite small, particularly as there is only 1 bathroom.

About Reservations Manager, Melissa Wood

Melissa has worked in the travel business on and off for the past 20 years, and now owns and/or manages a select group of vacation rental properties around the world, including this one.

THE OWNER:

English born and bred, Rachel comes from Northumberland, the wild and rugged border county in the far North of England. Never far away from a ruined castle or stately home, she always wanted to buy a period property where she could enjoy both English countryside and history - but never be too far from the buzz of a metropolitan city. Now living in New York, she still loves to come home regularly and get her fix of England; to breath the fresh air of the countryside, the wood burning smoke of the log fires and enjoy a good English pub meal with friends and family.

Reservations Manager, Melissa Wood purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Reservations Manager, Melissa Wood chose East Molesey

Owner Rachel bought this gem of a cottage to give her the freedom to enjoy the best of both worlds - to stay where countryside and capital city are both uniquely accessible - and she now opens up her home to allow others to do the same. We look forward to welcoming you to this unique and lovely property.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is light and airy, yet cozy, with a lovely outdoor space to enjoy the afternoon sun.

A wonderful Christmas getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Bell Cottage over Christmas and had a wonderful time there.

The kitchen is large, bright and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable and the linens were lovely. The decor is contemporary with a few fun twists.

It was so nice to be able to walk in the village and along the Thames, yet be so convenient to the Hampton Court train station.

We appreciated Melissa's recommendations, and accommodation for our early arrival.

I would love to return in the Summer months.

Wonderful time at sweet cottage!

  • 4 of 5

Recently stayed at this charming, quirky cottage in the heart of East Molesey...walking distance of Hampton Court Palace, river Thames, Bushy Park and train station to London. Recently painted, bathroom newly remodeled, fully equipped kitchen. Fabulous location to access town of Kingston on Thames and Richmond by bus or boat ride. Cottage was delightful, beds comfortable, huge fridge and freezer to stock up on food and drinks - also convenience of washer and dryer. Live, shop and eat with the locals. Lovely old pub just doors away! We were thrilled with our stay and would stay there again!

Oasis just outside London

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed at Bell Cottage for four weeks. I was unable to return home due to Hurricane Harvey and Melissa generously allowed us to extend our stay. Bell cottage is petite but comfortable and charming. The kitchen is top notch! Beds were very comfortable and it was beautifully decorated. We fell in love with East Molesey. The people were lovely and it was within walking distance (.75 mile) of Hampton Court Palace and the Thames. Shops, restaurants, bus and train station are all within comfortable walking distance. We highly recommend Bell Cottage!

Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my wife and our three boys (ages 6, 9 and 12) had a wonderful week in Bell Cottage. The property itself is beautifully presented, quaint and really well equipped. This was truly a home away from home. The location is also beautiful - within walking distance of Hampton Court Palace with loads of fantastic cafes and restaurants close by. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

A lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I booked the cottage for a two - week stay, and it was just what I needed. The close proximity to Hampton Court and local amenities made it the perfect location for my studies at the Royal School of Needlework. After staying in a hotel for the past two summers, I finally felt at home.

I was joined by a friend from Australia, and we're ready to come back!
