About Pam Carlson

We love to travel and have been all over the United States. Big Bear is a hard place to beat. We wanted a small town atmosphere. We love anything to do with the outdoors. We absolutely love Big Bear and its people and it surrounding area. We have choose Big Bear as a retirement location and have cherished this cabin as a real place of rest and relaxation from all of the hustle and bustle in the valley below and wanted to share our place with people so they can enjoy Big Bear as we do.

Pam Carlson purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Pam Carlson chose Big Bear Lake

We were looking for a cabin that was centrally located to all the outdoor activities for every season. Big Bear is truly a year round resort. During winter months we are approximately 1 mile from both ski resorts, we found it the ideal spot to play in the snow. In the summer Snow Summit has the lifts open for mountain biking. It has several trails, they just opened a 1 mile loop for the beginner/casual rider to advanced/racing for the advanced riders. We are less than a mile from hiking/biking trails. We are only a couple miles from the "Village".Take a stroll, hang out by open fire pits, shop the Quaint shops. Listen to live entertainment, eat a several great restaurants, indulge on homemade fudge. Everything is here!! The fresh smell of pine is always present. The air is just always cleaner up here.

What makes this cabin unique

Why we fell in love with this area and home was the cozy cabin feel and the woodsy backyard views .You can't beat the magnificent view of the stars at night while relaxing in the Hot Tub that you can only view in the mountains away from the glare of the city lights. We choose this place over others was because of its close proximity to everything. Both in driving and walking. You can walk less than 1/4 mile in one direction and you'll catch the shuttle buses to ski resorts. Saves the hassle and expense of parking. You can walk/ride your bike less than 1/4 in the opposite direction and you'll be in the National forest enjoying the hiking/biking trails. Our cabin is less than a mile from all the grocery/drug/retail stores. Come and share the small town mountain experience our family encounters every time we come to get away from the hustle and bustle of the valley and enjoy SoCals true 4 season resort town and our little piece of paradise in the sky.

Cozy and Accommodating!!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed to celebrate my 30th birthday and the hosts/cabin were perfect. Not only was everything easy but when we had an issue with the refrigerator, they came and solved the problem immediately. The inside was cozy and had the great Big Bear vibe. And for having 5 of us, we each had our own bed which was nice. I would definitely stay again!!

Big Bear Getaway

  • 5 of 5

There were 3 of us ladies celebrating our dear friend's 71st birthday. The house was perfect for us and the listing and photos were true to form. Their home was exceptionally clean. Pam and Ed were in constant contact with us with updates and answering all our questions. It was a very relaxing getaway for us and look forward to returning. The only downside was one of the neighbor's (we couldn't identify which home) let their dogs barked quite a bit which became quite annoying.

Clean & cozy

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in my fair share of big bear cabins, and they don't always feel, look or smell as clean as I'd like. But Pam and Ed's cabin smelt freshly cleaned the moment we walked in and I was even more happy about the bedding and towels because they also smelt like they had just been washed. The yard was perfect for our dogs, the spa was nice for the humans and the neighborhood was nice and quite for us early risers. The living room was just right for 4 adults and was very cozy. Owners were responsive if we needed anything. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Ed & Pam are amazing! Book this place NOW!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, it's clean! I say this first because that was the most important factor to me during the booking process. It felt like home. It was cozy, warm, and it was clean! That's so important to me and my family. From the moment I got there, I felt comfortable and relaxed. Ed and Pam were amazing. Whenever I had a question Ed was just a call or text message away and he always responded promptly. He was so polite! The rules of the cabin we're not restricting but easy to follow and did I forget to say it was clean! The fireplace is so sexy. I took 1 million pictures in front of it and the cabin is centrally located next to grocery stores, slopes, and other fun snow sports. Ed also had welcoming gifts for us. The price was so affordable

( the second biggest factor). Our family will definitely book again! 5 stars!! 😁򐝣😊򒠊

Note: YOU HAVE TO DRIVE TO A DUMPING SITE TO EMPTY THE TRASH. This was odd being from Los Angeles but that's no reflection on Ed & Pam the whole town does it.
