Cozy 2-bed/2- bath mountain cabin under the pines that is steps away from Tahquitz Peak, Southridge Trail, Humber Park and Ernie Maxwell hiking trails. You won't believe what's right outside the front door! Amazing location for the perfect getaway yet close to town. This home has lots of windows and unlike most cabins that are typically dark inside, this cabin has plenty of sunlight beaming through with gorgeous views of the mountains and surrounded by pine trees. Ideal for a couple, yet set up to sleep 4-5 people comfortably. We love pets! Our fully fenced in yard offers your dog plenty of room to roam. (Sorry but we do not allow cats due to allergies.)
This Property features a spacious one bedroom with a comfortable loft that serves as 2nd bedroom/office, separate dining room with views, very large outdoor deck, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer. Free Wi-Fi, Direct TV and Netflix. Fully fenced-in yard for dogs and parking spaces.
We currently live in Palm Springs Ca. I was introduced to Idyllwild for my birthday in 2013 and fell in love with this mountain town. A year later we were lucky enough to purchase this summer home near Tahquitz Peak and get up there every chance we get. Being so close to all the hiking trails was a total surprise! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Mark Skiles purchased this cabin in 2014
As I said, we wanted a place to escape the hot summers of Palm Springs . This home was perfect in every way. Location is close to town, hiking trails right out of the front door and of course the views of the peaks. It has amazing energy & lots of sunlight. The minute I walked in the door I knew it was going to be our home.
The high ceilings, views of the pine trees, the warmth of sun through all of the windows made this place unique for us. It's small and cozy and perfect for that place to get away from it all. The wood burning stove in the winter is an added plus for those cold nights. Also, we have a large German Shepherd named Cal who loves the back yard.
I am currently staying at the cabin as I type this. Cozy little cabin with lots of amenities. I came here hoping for snow but it all melted away by the time I got here. There is forecast for snow the day after my scheduled check out. I wanted to stay a couple extra days and saw on the calendar that the cabin was available but according to the owner, it's actually booked. I guess the calendar wasn't updated. Oh well. My dogs love the huge fenced in backyard but the bad part is that there is a big dog at the neighboring house in the corner of the backyard that barks almost every time I open the sliding door. If my dogs get too close, it goes to the corner where the fence is shared and barks like crazy. I know it's fenced in but it's still a little scary so I just call my dogs back inside. The stars at night are so visible and beautiful. I wish I had a telescope to stargaze. The town is a short drive away and there's a lot of shops and restaurants to check out. Mark must have rolled his eyes the million times I emailed him for something but he was very helpful. This cabin is a heck of a deal for what you get.
The Cabin is quaint and very clean. I liked the rustic feeling it offered. Far enough from town , but still close enough to visit.
My husband & I rented this place in November to celebrate our 39th anniversary so it was chilly & actually raining when we arrived. Brrr. But this little cottage had everything my husband, dog & I needed: TV so we could watch the Raiders play in Mexico City; wifi, heat (that was very responsive when we adjusted the thermostat), a comfy bed, a complete kitchen with more pots & pans than I have at home & a big fenced-in backyard where our dog could get out to stretch her legs. We went on a hike that started just a half mile or so from the cabin. It was a perfect hike b/c it was about 2.3 miles each way (plus the half mile each way to & from the cottage) & it was fairly level & very shady. I felt like I'd walked off a zillion calories by the time we finished. The town is also cute & quaint but we didn't eat there or really shop much b/c we had our dog w/ us. I would definitely go back. And a shout-out to the owner for the full-size bars of soap & generous bottles of shampoo & conditioner. I have been traveling 50 yrs & have never encountered a place that provided those. So thank you very much!!
Great cabin, perfect for a family of three or more. Steps away from beautiful hiking trails, short drive to town. Well-appointed, Mark was attentive and helpful, well-organized. Altogether we highly recommend and will stay here again in the near future.
There is a $60.00 cleaning fee to be added to the total price.
