About this property

Spectacular sunrises, beautiful Ocean view & Wild life at your fingertips!

As of September 1/23 we would be willing to rent long term, month to month! Call for the cost max 2 people! new timber framed cabin, one bedroom with a mounted wall T.V. in bedroom. Double doors looking out onto the ocean. Beautiful cozy living room with a brand new gas stove & a hide-a-bed. All linens and towels provided. A/C as well! The kitchen has
stainless steel appliances plus a washer/dryer. large screen T.V. in living room that swivels. There are table and chairs and lawn furniture if you would like to sunbath. Also a beach umbrella to keep the sun out if you prefer. We have a gas fire pit, that way if there is a fire ban you can still have a fire! Great BBQ for those yummy steaks or a great catch of Salmon. . The cabin is based on double occupancy and it is an extra $15 per person over 2 people for the cabin. Maximum of 3! No Children!
One of my favorite things to do when the tide is out is walk the reef, you need a good pair of gum boots or runners, something you don;t mind getting wet, and don;t forget your camera. the sights are spectacular. There are sea lions bathing on the rocks, eagles walking around looking for crab, blue herons, gorgeous colored starfish that are attached to the rocks but please leave them for others to enjoy! Its like you are in another world, Many times the tide is really low and that is the time to go out but just be aware of your surroundings as you can get carried away and the tide can come in around you quite fast. The sunrises are spectacular and in the summer the sun comes up right in front of the cabin, there are some amazing colors. I find sometimes the sunrises are much more vibrant in the fall/winter but still very beautiful so a camera is a must .In they bay I have taken a video which is on u-tube of hundreds of dolphins swimming back and forth for a good 45 minutes, it was an amazing sight and one I will never forget. It even made the news! many times you will see sea lions and seals, the difference is sea lions are about 8 times bigger then the seals and they will lay on the rocks and sun themselves all day. Its amazing how they don't fall off the rocks considering their size. It really is a beautiful sight. If you look at the photos you will see them. The cabin was built by Dave, my husband in 2011, it was to be his man cave until I had a better idea! Everyone that has come has loved it and written wonderful reviews. He took a lot of pride and still does in the workmanship which is truly incredible. It is timber framed construction with beams that are 40 feet.everyone has been amazed by it. Inside Dave has many antiques from his grandfather that many people say they take the time to look them up as they are so fascinated .Lots of fishing books and all kinds of books on the areas and where to go.There are two tables on each side of the deck with 4 chairs each so lots of room for guests.. Smoking is only allowed outside and no candles allowed in the cabin except for battery operated ones which are there for your enjoyment. If you need anything at all we are here for you so don't be afraid to come and knock on our door. You have the whole drive-way, no other vehicles will will be parked there so you have a beautiful view! There are eagle trees right across the street from the cabin so you will see an abundance of eagles as well as Blue Herons and sea lions that lay out on the rock when the tide goes out. The Eagles and Blue Herons are there all the time. Its amazing to watch the eagles look down and watch the water and swoop down and grab a salmon and eat it in the tree. So I have no doubt you will have more then enough to do and you will fall in love with our cabin and the area. Please let us know if you have pet as it depends on size etc. If a pet is aloud we require a credit card that we will not put through but will have in case of damages from the pet, such as peeing on the rugs, scratching doors. There is a $15 charge per night for the pet fee! They are not aloud on the bed or couch, and must be leashed at all times. Just to give you the heads up ahead of time We are on septic so only toilet paper in the toilet. So relax, enjoy and don't forget to write in our guest book!

Amazing Place to Stay
This, without doubt, is as well equipped and luxurious a property that I have ever experienced for a short break. Dave and Colleen have taken time to make sure that there is enough you could wish for provided for your comfort, including most welcome provisions including eggs, bread, milk and wine. If I ever return to the area, this will be top of my list of places to stay

Conflicted opinion
This cabin had obviously been developed with care by the owners. From food in the kitchen (including a huge piece of salmon and wine) to well stocked kitchen. The reason I was conflicted was it wasn't as peaceful as I thought as between the sea and the cabin is a road. So only downside location, the rest is great

Location and view
Great location and access to the area. We enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the home. There was every thing we needed for cooking, which we did sparingly given that we were on the go a lot. The sunrise view was spectacular.

Cozy, scenic getaway
We had a lovely 3 day stay at the cabin. It was very clean, well kept and the bed was comfortable. As for supplies, the cabin is amazingly well stocked. We only needed to bring food. Colleen and Dave were very friendly, and gracious hosts. We definitely recommend this cabin.

Ocean view cabin
This little cabin had everything we needed to make our stay restful and perfect. Our hosts were very friendly and we had our own private oasis. The kitchen was fully stocked and we even had a BBQ to use. We used this spot as our home base and explored the beautiful surrounding areas daily. We were disappointed we were not directly on the ocean side of the highway, but very few places in Campbell River are. Our ocean view and sunrises were spectacular.

My Husband Dave and I Have lived in Campbell River for over 45 yrs. We originally came from the mainland but moved to Campbell River to open a Charter Fishing Company since my husband has fished all his life. So we made a go of it and it has been highly successful. It is called Fastwater Charters Ltd. so if you are also interested in catching the big one, our business is Family owned and operated for over 45 years and we would be more then happy to take you out to catch the big one. Our boats are covered and heated with a washroom on board. All you have to do is ask us and we would be more then happy to help you out!

Why they chose this property

Well Dave and I have been together since I was 18 and he was 27. Today he is 72 and I am a very young 63. Lol! We fell in love with the property and bought it in about 1980. Dave built the cabin in about 2010, it was to be his "man Cave!" So we let it sit and admired it for a few years and then decided to try renting it out. He was a little worried at first as a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into it, as he did do the building himself. It took him a few years but it was finally finished and he did a fabulous job! We love Vancouver Island, Campbell River and would never live anywhere else. Our view is spectacular of the ocean and the mountains and we just can't get enough of the wild life. Many times you will see the deer come right in the yard and try and eat my plants which they usually succeed in doing, or Mama raccoon and her babies are always hanging out you can usually spot them during the evening! One of my favorite things to do is watch the eagles as there is a nest right across the road and they are always flying around with the crows chasing after them. It is not unusual to see them sitting up in the tree eating there fresh catch of salmon or cod and many other treats. We have the best sunrises here so I am an early bird as I love to watch and take video's of them. They are so different daily especially on the water, its like a different painting every single day. You will see tons of Eagles with that distinct sound, sea lions, porpoises shagpokes and even whales going North to Alaska. You will usually always see the Blue Heron that is perched on the rock right at the water and he will sit there for hours until the eagles come and take over. We have also seen turkey vultures which I had never seen before. The would sit there with there wings out and I often wondered why they did that and found out the reason is because they are drying themselves which I found very interesting. I think that you will love the property as much as we so please come join us

What makes this property unique

You can't get enough of the beautiful ocean views, sunrises and all the wildlife! What a great place to live!! You have the golf course right up the road, walking distance and this is the Salmon Capital of the World so get out and catch the big one with Dave who has fished these waters for over 45 years.
