Literally in the mountains on the edge of Albuquerque, this cozy fully furnished 1 bedroom is an attached apartment with its own private garage and patio. Sandia Mountain hiking trails start right out the back door, while still being within 20 minutes of downtown Albuquerque. Our nearest neighbors are 500 feet away and all around us are stunning vistas of the city and incredible views of the mountains. If you love being in the wilderness, this is the most secluded place you will find on the west side of the mountain. And for our summer guests, escape the heat in the higher altitude. Though a/c usage is limited to afternoon, our place never gets warmer than 75 and cools down quickly at night. Please note: From December to the end of February I require my guests to have 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicles.
My wife Olivia and I, plus our son Bodhi are happy to be hosts to people from around the world. I am currently a general contractor and my wife is a sign language interpreter. I grew near Chicago and moved to Albuquerque in 2003 where I performed in a theater group for 12 years until recently starting my contracting business. Olivia moved to Albuquerque in 2003 as well and after attending UNM began here career as an interpreter. We met at a coffee shop where we were both working and were married 7 years later.
Owner / Property Manager purchased this apartment in 2014
We moved to this house because. . .well, look at the pictures.
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The unit was well equipped with all the amenities and was very comfortable for the three of us. The first morning of our mountain getaway started with orange juice and bagels that were kindly provided by our hosts. We went there to see the local sites, but were torn between that or just sitting on the patio and enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. We definitely would like to return to this property and have strongly recommended it to family and friends.
The B&B had everything that was needed for a secluded getaway. The scenery was fantastic and the hosts were great. I would stay at this location again and again. It was definitely off the beaten path which allowed for relaxation. The mountains nearby have some great trails for hiking and walking.
Beautiful views if I could have just sat on the patio the whole time that would have been wonderful. Everything you need is there, wonderful owners.
This home is absolutely fabulous. Bryan and family go well beyond the word "host". The photos on VRBO when searching for a place in ABQ were lovely, but do not give this home its true credit. Getting there you realize you are about to embark on an out-of-the-city, beautiful experience. Once you arrive, you will never want to leave. The garage is large enough to easily load and unload the things you need. The home itself is very open and bright. The kitchen holds all the things you'd need for easy cooking. Tea, coffee, etc. The bananas, bagels, cream cheese, and OJ left for us in the fridge made for an easy morning start to the busy days we had ahead of us. The private patio with an artistic flare is truly a gift where we were visited often by the property's 2 cats. Truly, we couldn't find a better place to stay. We are in ABQ often and have plans for this home being "home away from home". We loved it. Thank you Bryan and family.
We LOVED this location. My older son and I come to New Mexico every year and love the Sandias. This was a fabulous experience to be able to stay in a quiet location with all we could possibly need, and just relax and enjoy the mountain. The over all sense of peace here was amazing. He slept on the fold out couch and said it was perfectly comfortable. I stayed in the bedroom and was able stay in bed and watch the sun slowly come over the mountains in the morning. What more could a girl want!!! (FYI my son could watch the sunrise as well) The kitchen, bathroom, closets, space, and garage were perfect! You will have use of your own garage for your car which helps with heat control. Our hosts were welcoming, warm and so kind!! I had business to attend to, and Bryan was able to help me with directions and timing. Our hopes will be to stay here again on our next trip to ABQ. I hope to return to have quiet reflection and a wonderful restful time in this fantastic location with such caring hosts.
I rented this casa for a short vacation with my daughter and her children. The property is exactly as described and more!
The pictures may depict it a bit smaller but once inside you will be delighted to find it is larger than it appears online.
The view is spectacular and the premises extremely quiet (you forget that the owner is living above you). Very private and clean.
The amenities were more than expected. Bryan and Olivia provided bagels w/cheese and coffee and juice for the first morning
breakfast which was super nice, since we had a late arrival. A Smith's grocery store is approximately 5-6 miles from the rental and
easily located. Also, quite nice was the gas grill on the patio (very easy to use - my 14 year old grandson was proud to be grill chef for
the evening), The kitchen has everything you need for cooking anything from pizza to steak. Plenty of spices and condiments are provided.
The bathroom is quite large with a washer/dryer (very useful during our stay)and hotel size toiletries. I would also like to recommend a fun
event that we attended on Central Avenue (downtown). Max's Magic Theater is a super fun magic show for all ages. If you purchase the
tickets online, they are a bit cheaper. Only 26 people can attend each show and everyone in the audience participates. Lots of fun!!
I highly recommend this rental for anyone visiting the Albuquerque area. Bryan and Olivia are very accommodating and great communicators.
Thanks so much for a wonderful visit that will always be cherished!
