This is a very special home that operated for years as the 'Our House' Bed & Breakfast. It is now under new ownership (ours!), but for those faithful fans of this incredible vacation rental, do not worry! We hope to continue its lovely legacy by welcoming you home each and every time you stay in St. Augustine. Its popularity is largely driven by its incredible location. Park the car and walk to everything. Another huge bonus is that all of the three bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms. It's perfect for sharing with friends and family. Did I mention the courtyard off the kitchen? It's a perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. And if courtyards aren't your thing (really? I don't believe you!) then choose the front porch or the balcony. Every angle of this house is special, and we're confident you will love it immediately.
CHECK IN NO EARLIER THAN 4 P.M.
CHECK OUT NO LATER THAN 10 A.M.
*If you have special requirements that require different check-in/check-out times, please email prior to the start of your trip to determine feasibility of early arrival/late departure. We have many back-to-back guests and must allot sufficient time to clean. Thank you!*
ONE MORE THING: The question has come up several times: How do you sleep 10? We have three bedrooms that sleep six total. We also have a pull-out sofa (queen) downstairs in the living room and a pull-out sofa (full) in the upstairs landing.
I, Heather Uberuaga, am a St. Augustine native. I love my hometown, and that's reflected in my desire to own a piece of it and enjoy it fully when I'm in town! My husband is a combat search and rescue helicopter pilot for the US Air Force, and that keeps us moving around the globe quite a bit. But when we're in town, there is no other place we'd like to be.
The Basque House Team purchased this house in 2015
Why this property? Why not! It's simply perfect. I love the location and the size. I love its sophistication and warmth. This is a very special house, and everyone who walks in the door feels that.
Location, location, location. Can't get better. Perfect to explore both downtown and uptown. Plus, this house has 1 bathroom per bedroom. That makes for good sharers.
My family and I stayed at this home in March '16 for my wedding. It's a gorgeous, roomy home. It seemed to me like it had been a B&B in the past. The pictures don't do it justice. We had my "getting ready" pics taken in the upper room and the pics came out great! My only complaint (which is not really a complaint) is the kitchen was a tad small, more of a kitchenette. But, who needs a kitchen when St Augustine has so many tasty restaurants and places to eat. The home is walking distance to everything and only a few minutes drive to the beach. We had an absolutely fantastic time! So glad we picked this home for such an important event!! Will definitely return.
I can't say enough good things about our short stay at the Basque House. It exceeded our expectations from the adorable architecture to the amazing location! Nancy and her husband went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great and we didn't want to leave once the trip came to an end. I would recommend this house to anyone thinking about visiting St. Augustine.
We had a wonderful time staying at Basque House for a family reunion! The house is truly charming, exactly as depicted in the listing, and is in an excellent location that is close to everything. We all parked in the alley behind the house, and rarely moved the cars. The trolley stop was just a couple of blocks away. We appreciated all the extra touches that had been added in the home--books to read, information on the St. Augustine area, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Each family unit in our reunion had their own area for privacy with the three bedrooms and three bathrooms, but the living area was a great place to gather for the entire family in the evenings. Nancy was a thoughtful manager who addressed concerns immediately and everything was spotless. We will definitely stay at Basque House again if we return to St. Augustine! The Williams Family
The house is perfect for up to three couples with 3 really master bedrooms. Great location within walking distance of tons of restaurants, shops and bars. Definitely recommend this house to anyone looking in St. Augustine.
There were four couples and granted, we only had three rooms, but there was plenty enough space to share. It has 3 large rooms each with its own bath. The two upstairs have doors opening out onto a front porch, and the downstairs room opens onto a small deck off the back. A small kitchen, but it served it's purpose. I'm guessing they expect most people to go out to eat a lot. A nice patio area off the dining room to the side of the house which connects to the front yard that exits to the street. Parking enough for 3-4 cars in the back of house. Very easy to get to and the house is close enough to walk to a lot of places. The beach(St. Augustine) is a short drive over the Bridge of Lions. The decor is beautiful in the house. I will definitely be back to St. Augustine and maybe even stay at The Basque House again.
This was my first experience with VRBO and so I was very worried that the charming images and advertisements of the Basque House would not be the reality once we arrived. I'm so glad I was wrong! The place is beautiful and well-maintained. The management was well-organized, with explanatory memos where necessary. The beautiful porches and outside spaces invited gatherings day and evening. The place is spotless, and conveniently situated within walking distance of virtually everything we wanted to do. We were delighted to find that there was ample parking in the back of the house, for my nieces who drove from out of town. I would definitely recommend the Basque House without reservation.
