VRBO Property Discription is fairly accurate but some items should be more clearly disclosed.

  • 3 of 5

Upon arrival we met the owners and they seemed very nice. Since we had a disabled person with us, we needed the boat docking space with a ladder for easier access. After the owner moved an existing boat located below the ladder to another location on the dock, we were set. However, the dock fish cleaning station was installed (tilted to the inside) so while cleaning fish, the dirty water ran to the side you were standing at and onto your feet and legs. No Good.

The screened in patio with pool were clean and nicely organized.

The home was smaller than we pictured, but clean and adequate.

However, I believe the location of the washer and dryer, located out the side patio door and inside a vinyl storage shed should be disclosed within the VRBO property description. Using the equipment in the evening was miserable due to the very small and aggressive no-see-um bugs.

The front door was extremely hard to open and close due to a faulty floor seal. Only two of our party of four could even open the door from the inside.

The master bath sink leaked water around the faucet each time the water was turned on.

We killed a large roach crawling through the dining area, another escaped under the kitchen cabinet and we found another dead roach in the kitchen. But this is Florida and bugs are here to stay (but should not be in our homes).

We did catch plenty of fish and had a great time boating. The boat ramp is very convent being only two blocks away.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback in your review. I agree about the front door. I had a carpenter address the issue about a month ago and he seemed to make the problem worse with the weather stripping. This will be taken care of when the hurricane shutters are installed on December 11th. I was not aware of the master bath sink issue. I just had both toilets replaced the week before your arrival with "low volume flush" toilets and would have had the plumber address the sink issue had I known. Thanks for bringing the problem to my attention. We have a service contract with Truly Nolen professional pest service at this house and our personal residence so I will have them make an extra visit to the house as you are right about Florida and the bug population. Clean Well Cared For

  • 3 of 5

I miss understood the advertisement of a boat lift. The lift was not available as it was occupied by the owners boat. Further the owner arrived materially unannounced (3 minute notification) to work on their boat, which was a little unsettling.

Tropical island feel, clean and quiet. The kids had a blast in the pool.and on the boat dock

Second time we have stayed. If you have kids and a boat this is the place to stay. Renee had everything ready when we arrived and was in touch throughout the week. The weather wasn't the greatest but made the fishing better than ever. The people in Boceelia are friendly and made us feel at home. Will be staying again soon.
