A well equipped, comfortable cottage where you could relax.
We had not received information about accessing the cottage with under a week till our holiday, so it was stressful having to chase this up. All was fine in the end, but we should not have been having to do this. The cottage was very clean and welcoming, we felt at ease and very comfortable staying there. Lovely to be able to walk to local facilities and reluctant to move car and lose our spot! We would recommend this cottage to others.
Deal is a Georgian coastal town boasting two castles, both open to the public, two small museums and two markets, held weekly. Deal offers restaurants with dishes ranging from the traditional to exotic delicacies from the Orient, but, if fish is your desire then why not catch your own by enjoying a spot of fishing from the beach or pier? Deal Castle is an ideal place for children to explore, rugged and exciting with audio guides to help you get the best information whilst taking in this impressive castle built in the time of Henry VIII. Walmer Castle is just along the coast with gardens and tea rooms open from April until October, and their scones are highly recommended! Deal was a smuggler's paradise during the 1700s; it still has maps in the streets showing the underground tunnels where rum and brandy were rolled by casket avoiding the Excise men. Why not take the cycle path from Deal to Kingsdown, a pretty Kent village with views across to France? Here you can rest and recuperate in one of the three pubs all serving excellent food. If golf is your game then look no further with Royal Cinque Ports and Kingsdown within an easy distance. This Kent coastal town is the perfect location for families and friends looking to pursue outdoor activities or laze on the beach enjoying the sea air, stroll along the cobbled streets, sit and relax outside a bistro with a coffee or just gaze out to sea; Deal has something for everyone!
Deal offers visitors the chance to sample the flavour of pirates and fishermen from the days gone by, with the chance to enjoy a fishing trip and try and land your own catch of the day!
