A great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time in Ohiopyle and at the house. The house was very spacious for the seven of us, and the view at the top of the hill was beautiful! I would recommend the house to my family and friends!
Really cute, BEAUTIFUL setting on the mountainside with great views.
Nicely updated kitchen, lots of natural light.
Very clean apart from lots of ladybugs.
Would definitely come again!
Great location - Lots of Charm
The setting of the country house is perfect for access to Ohiopyle State Park. The view up the hill behind the house is spectacular. The owners have made some nice improvements, and the kitchen and dinning area are very comfortable and modern. The land around this house adds to the charm and peaceful setting. The owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to respond to our dates.
The house easily would accommodate family and friends. I would highly recommend this farmhouse for your stay in the area and easy access to all the recreation opportunities.
Peaceful, quiet location, very convenient and close to Ohiopyle State Park and nearby attractions
Quaint farmhouse -- peaceful, quiet, welcoming. Be careful on driveway entrance if you have a low car. Wifi service doesn't have enough bandwidth, if you're expecting normal usage of social media and web browsing. We came in and when connecting got a message that a 10GB limit had been reached, so wifi service would be slower -- and it was. Contact with owner and his purchase of an additional 3GB didn't help for long with 3 teenage kids, even though we weren't streaming any videos or films, just what we'd consider 'normal' usage at home or any hotel. But this could be a function of what's available in the area. Mobile phone signal weak in that location as well.
My family stayed here for a few days in April so we could visit Falling Water and bike the Great Allegheny Passage. The kitchen and eating area were lovely and updated. It had a rustic charm, but much of the house is still in need of serious updating -- especially the "master" bedroom area. Having 2 bunk rooms was great for our kids. Ron was in the process of building a patio at the time, so I'm sure that is a lovely addition now. We enjoyed using the fire pit in the evenings. It was somewhat remote, but not too far a drive from Ohiopyle.
The house was built in approximately 1880 by my great-great-grandfather so the structure of the home is old. We have made upgrades to the home (the bathroom and kitchen/dining areas have be completely renovated) and will continue to do so in the future. The master bedroom is slated to be the next room for renovation. However, we will always attempt to maintain the character of the old farmhouse as we make these updates.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would love to return and have more time to enjoy the property.
Close to Ohiopyle for easy access yet far enough away to feel like you're secluded. Ron has made some nice improvements to the property while still keeping the rustic charm of a farmhouse. Would love to have a lazy day to enjoy time on the patio he's putting in or to be up on the hill with a cozy fire. Thanks Ron!!
