An extremely spacious, charming 4 bedroom detached house, conveniently situated to the coastal path leading to Brancaster Beach.

A recent guest comment from February 2017,

"Fantastic cottage in great location, plenty of space for 4 adults, 3 children and the dog. 3 good sized bathrooms with good showers. Would recommend this property and hope to return again soon."

The upstairs of the property comprises a large master bedroom (with cot) 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bedroom with bunk beds, 2 spacious bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath

The downstairs area is an excellent space for entertaining. An elegant large comfortable reception room, a separate dining room which seats 8-10 plus a high chair. There is also a second sitting room which is perfect for children with plenty of books, toys and games to keep the little ones amused. A well equipped kitchen with Aga and a separate electric oven, utility room with a washing machine and drier and walk in pantry.

A secure south facing garden, laid to lawn and sheltered seating area with dog pen. Parking for 2 cars with further off street parking. Dogs welcome.

The North Norfolk coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty with salt marshes, nature reserves and stunning sandy beaches.

Places to visit: The nearby village of Burnham Market with its array of boutique shops, delicatessens and the popular Hoste Arms.

Holkham Hall and Holkham beach recently voted best beach in the UK by a team of travel writers.

Wells next the Sea, a quaint seaside village with an array of shops, bars and restaurants.

Why Caroline chose Brancaster

The Hermitage is a much loved family home where we have had many happy times with friends and family. It is fun in the summer and cosy and warm in the winter. An old fashioned English seaside holiday cottage!

What makes this house unique

The Hermitage is within walking or cycling distance to the beach so the whole family can enjoy time together or wander home at their leisure. We love the local pubs and are spoilt by having the lovely Georgian town of Burnham Market a short drive away. Our bedrooms offer views of Brancaster marsh on one side and pretty red Norfolk roofs on the other.

Perfect clean tidy warm

We are a group of birdwatching friends.

The property is perfectly placed with a lovely pub at the end of the road for breakfast and dinner.

And the marshes very close by was great.

Thank you so much for perfect weekend.

Looking forward to coming back next year.

Super house in a great location. Within walking distance of the beach.

Both the house and garden are child and dog friendly, safe and homely. Three generations had a wonderful week and hope to return. Recommend the White Horse in Brancaster Staithe for good food and fabulous views.

Charming, spacious and well appointed cottage in a super location close to the beach

All positives. Spent 4 days in Feb with 4 grown up children and 4 adults. Cottage is very comfortable: spacious, warm, well decorated and has all the modern conveniences. Secure and relaxing walled garden. Fantastic location, with great walks to and on the beach - great for the dog and us! The village and surrounding villages all have great pubs and places to eat - spoilt for choice. Owner super responsive and very accommodating. In short we had a wonderful stay - I would highly recommend this large cottage.

Lovely house and fantastic location

We all loved this house and it suited our party of 6 adults and 2 children. Very spacious and comfortable.

We loved the Christmas decorations!

Our only negative would be the kitchen. It needs a little TLC. The drawers practically fall out.

We would love a brand new kitchen - if only funds were to permit!!! In the meantime we have tried to ensure that the existing kitchen is clean and well equipped with new appliances (I have replaced the kettle you mentioned with a new one to match the Smeg toaster.) We host many families with young children and dogs and we have always felt with our own family that, although old fashioned, the kitchen is practical and somewhat cosy with its bright red AGA! Thank you for your thoughts on the drawers, you're right they could cause a problem and I will see if I can improve the mechanism. Relaxing atmosphere

Really enjoyed our stay this weekend at the Hermitage house in Brancaster. Warm and cosy with plenty of space. The enclosed garden was ideal for our friendly old terriers. I even managed a meal in the aga ,it's been a good few years since I cooked in one but loved it.

Close to the beach ,some great wildlife and not forgetting a short walk away from the Ship with great food and beer.

Lovely property, spacious yet cosy.

We had a very relaxing break and really enjoyed staying at The Hermitage. The accommodation was well presented and we all found the house very welcoming.

Excellent super and breakfast at The Ship hotel in Brancaster just a few steps up the road.

We saw the seals on the beach and blew the cobwebs away walking to Brancaster Staithe on the boardwalk footpath through the salt marsh.

We'd all definitely like to return.
