"He leads me beside still waters...", a place of recreation and restoration! We have created many wonderful memories here with friends and family for the past 13 years, and now welcome you to enjoy it as well!
My family has created many special memories in this cabin with family and friends over the past 13 years. I am recently widowed and unable to maintain the property alone but would still like to try and keep the cabin for all of us to enjoy. So I've decided to turn it into a vacation rental in order to cover the maintenance on the beautiful 3 1/2 acres. I invite you to enjoy this lake cabin with me!
Joy purchased this cabin in 2001
Lake Hudson is a quiet get-away that offers great fishing, boating and fun! On a busy holiday, you can look out over the main lake and count maybe 10-15 boats!
We rented Still Waters for the week of Thanksgiving. It was just what we needed to get away from the city and work and our family from Tulsa and from northwest Arkansas were able to come and visit with us on their own schedules. The cabin was clean and everything was easy to find. We fished off the dock and in the horseshoe and caught a few even though temperatures were in the 60s. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space- cooking on the grill and sitting around the fire pit. Joy definitely understands the things that make the difference between a nice stay and an extra special one! Everything we could have wanted was there and she made us feel right at home with her hospitality! The grandkids were in awe of the number of stars they could see and how bright they were. Just a great trip all the way around!
Beautiful views from the sunroom, however it sits pretty far back from the shore. Lots of space on the lot to enjoy the great outdoors, have friends and family set up camp as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A chance to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
My husband and I and my sister and her husband had a relaxing week at the cabin. The guys fished and the girls sewed enjoying the wonderful view of the property. The guys drove down to the dock but it was close enough for a leisurely walk for us girls. Close enough for the guys to run back when it was time to eat. Thanks so much for opening up the use of your home.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was much better than what we expected. We got to meet the owner, who was there finishing up some outside yard work. She was very nice. To start with the cabin was very cozy and clean with comfy beds with everything needed. There was one room with a row of windows overlooking the yard, well actually, the yard was more like a well manicured park with beautiful tall trees. Also there was a nice gazebo with a charcoal grill where we cooked burgers and hotdogs one night. My husband said that he felt like he was eating at our own private outside restaurant, it was so quite and peaceful. The lake was very serene and having your own private boat dock and ramp was nice. Also there was a restroom and fish cleaning station located close to the fishing dock. We had the chance to try out our new fishing boat and outboard motor as we went out to a deep channel to fish. I hooked something big out there and never could get it reeled in, finally it broke my fishing line ( it was a real whooper ). We also spent a lot of time fishing off the dock and caught a lot of fish. Also, there was a nice place to swim around the dock and boat ramp. My husband went swimming for the first time in 25 years and had a blast. Overall our stay here was quite pleasant and would highly recommend it.
I had a great short stay, wish we had more time to enjoy it. The house was clean and neat but had a personal feel to it. Directions were easy enough and we got in kind of late and went right to sleep. I fished all day but my wife and daughter enjoyed the property very much. They talked about little details like the binoculars hanging in the corner to use, the living room with full windows to see toward the lake, the pecan trees, etc. We will definitely return someday and hopefully sooner than later. Thank you for the stay!
The Christmas Train at Dry Gulch is just 1/4 mile from the cabin.
