About Alexis

As a photographer I travel a lot and like to stay abroad in unique places, bed & breakfasts and private property. Therefor I like to give that chance to others who like a unique place in this great city!

Alexis purchased this house in 1997

Why Alexis chose Jordaan

I fell in love with this city 18 years ago, especially with the Jordaan area. I started some 10 years ago to renovate this 115 years old storehouse into a warm home. As I lived in this house and area for over 20 years I can advise and suggest you places, bars and restaurants in and around town that are not in any tourist-guide.

I hope you will enjoy your stay in this beautiful city!

Great Rental

  • 5 of 5

This trip was my family's first time in Amsterdam. Alexis met us at the house, gave us a brief tour and intro to the area and even stocked the fridge for us for the first night. He was a wonderful host. The house has everything you'd need and more. It is very comfortably furnished. Located in the Jordaan District, it makes for a fantastic rental house since it is so close to many restaurants, shops, and canals. For all of these reasons, we highly recommend this house.

Amazing Property

  • 5 of 5

This house is unique, beautifully decorated, has everything you could need and is in a wonderful location. I stayed with my husband and two daughters 14 and 16 for four nights. We all had lots of space so we weren't on top of each other, the beds were comfortable, the dryer worked great, lots of natural light and special touches. You are close to the tram stop, we walked a lot too, I would have loved to ride bikes but it was too cold for us Floridians. Alexis is a wonderful host, very responsive, helpful and informative. I would love to stay here again if I get back to Amsterdam.

Great location close to Amsterdam centre

  • 5 of 5

Host Alexis provided us with an amazing authentic Amsterdam 19th century house. We stayed with three adults and had a very comfortable stay with private bedrooms for all. Great location to many key sites in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, the Jordaan. Our host had stocked the fridge with drinks and food for the first morning and welcomed us with a full property tour. Market, bike rental, pubs, and transport all close by. Loved the local pub only two blocks away. Happily would stay again.

Lovely historic home in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful week in Amsterdam with this house as home base. The spacious house is comfortably furnished with taste, character, and a bit of humor. The gracious owner, Alexis, welcomes you with a fridge full of basic provisions, a tour of the house, and excellent suggestions for shopping, restaurants, and things to do. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking simple meals. The location is outstanding--the Jordaan is the prettiest neighborhood in Amsterdam, it is convenient to everything, it is away from the hordes of tourists, and there are many good restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby. The house is on a quiet street off the canal, so there is little noise from traffic, bicycles, or passersby. The house is not suitable for people with mobility issues or families with very young children because the stairs are narrow, winding, and open, and the bedrooms are two and three flights up. There are students living in the house next door, which makes for a bit of jolly noise in the evenings, but it was not excessive during our stay and it was always quiet by about 11 pm or so. If you are up for the stairs (which are unavoidable in an old house in Amsterdam) and don't mind lively young neighbors, this house offers good value for the money and makes for a very pleasant stay in the center of Amsterdam.

A perfect place to stay in Amsterdam.

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful and in a perfect location for Amsterdam. Close enough to easily walk to all of the main attractions but not in the middle of all of the tourist activities and crowds.. A quiet neighbourhood but close to bars and restaurants, a 5 minute walk in any direction. The house has everything you need and the owner is very accomodating. I would definitely stay there again the next time I visit Amsterdam. We were there with our daughter and the home would easily sleep 6 people.
