About this property

Luxury 4 bedroom North Norfolk cottage in lovely coastal village location

Woodside is a 4 bedroom detached brick and flint cottage. The cottage sleeps 8 in comfort across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Inside
As you enter the cottage there is a wide corridor with the sitting room on one side and the snug on the other. The sitting room has two big sofas with seating for 8 and a couple of window seats with views of the front garden. There is a smart TV with BBC Iplayer and other online services, a DVD player, and a wood burner which makes the room really warm on cooler evenings. We provide guests with a full basket of logs. The Snug has TV, DVD, Xbox and lots of board games, jigsaws and kids toys.

Back into the entrance hallway and through to the kitchen which is 30ft long with large dining table for 8 (plus kids seats and a high chair if needed). The kitchen has a range cooker, large fridge freezer and is extensively equipped for home cooking.

The games room is accessed through the kitchen and has a 6ft multi games table which can be configured as a pool table, air hockey table or compact table tennis table. Hours of fun in here (and it's well sound proofed from the rest of the house!). Beyond this is a utility room which also has a door to front garden and parking area so good for bringing in muddy walking boots.

There is one bedroom downstairs with a king sized bed. There is a downstairs bathroom which can be accessed off the hallway or the bedroom. Both doors have locks so it can be made into an ensuite.

Back to the entrance hall and up the stairs leads to a lovely peaceful sitting area with views of garden and sea from the loveseat (its a great spot for reading and the cottages book collection is kept up here).

The master bedroom has a king sized bed and ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and view out across the fields and local bowling green. Of the 2 further bedrooms, there is 1 twin, and 1 bedroom with zip and link beds which can be configured as a twin or super king.

The main bathroom is spacious with big walk in shower and a separate bath.

Back downstairs, French doors lead out to the enclosed back garden. The rear garden can also be accessed through the games room.

Outside
Good sized landscaped gardens with decking areas, lawns and a 'beach hut'. The front garden has lovely views up the hill towards Kelling Heath and the North Norfolk Stream railway in the distance, whilst the back garden is fully enclosed and opens straight out from the kitchen patio doors so is very safe for younger kids.

The beach hut holds a Weber BBQ, garden games such as badminton and croquet, and a table for two. Crabbing nets and buckets are also stored in here along with plenty of bats and balls for the garden.

The back garden as has reclining loveseats which are perfect for a glass of wine and some star gazing on a clear night, whilst the main decked area has a table and seating for 8.

There is off-road parking for 3 cars (4 at a push), and a fast EV chargepoint.

Local Area
The village of Weybourne boasts a wonderful pub, the Ship Inn, and a local shop and deli, the Village Store, just 2 minutes walk away. The beach is less than a 1/2 mile walk away. Weybourne also boasts a station on the North Norfolk railway (the 'Poppy Line'), along with Weybourne Priory and All Saints Church.

The area is excellent for walking, enjoying the countryside and coast. There are opportunities to see wildlife, sea-fishing on Weybourne Beach and bird-watching are very popular.

For rainy days, Sheringham is 3 miles up the road and has a large swimming pool, shops and activities, as does Cromer a further 2 miles on.

No smoking. Pets by prior request, see rates section. Short and Long breaks available.

Fabulous house in great location
Lovely house - had everything we needed and plenty of space for the 6 of us to spread out. Very handy for beach and lovely cafe in village made it extra good as a property location. Games room an added bonus and kept the kids occupied when we were at the house.

Made an excellent autumn holiday venue
This very spacious property suited 5 OAP's well. Good off road parking for 3 cars, very well equipped large bright dining-kitchen, large comfortable lounge soon cosy with logburner, very comfortable beds. Delightful garden with plenty of furniture for sitting and dining - and garden games provided in the summer house (if the lawn had been cut!) Very useful utility room. Whilst we didn't use the games room it was well set up for those who might. The second lounge upstairs was also a bonus. The location of the house is great - in walking distance to the shingle beach and North Norfolk coastal path, the bus stop, a very interesting military museum and the great local pub - restaurant. Our only concern was that this wonderful house was let down by the standard of cleaning. but if this was rectified it would so enhance the warm welcome that awaits on arrival.

Family holiday in Norfolk
The house and location perfect for our family holiday. Accommodation had plenty of space and activities ie games room, books for all generations, small tv room and garden games. for 6 adults and one active 2 year old. Plenty of car parking space, and back garden secure for children and pets. Marked down on cleanliness, due to cobwebs, and master room toilet under rim and lid not clean. Anther issue we had was with the stair gate for our toddlers safety. It didn't fit properly and not fit for purpose, as some grip pads were missing and it didn't fit correctly between the stair posts. Totally unsafe. The 2 twin beds that were linked together as requested. These were unfit for purpose due to the deep hollow that was formed down the centre, even with the mattress topper causing lack of sleep as the occupants rolled into the middle. Also no post hole for outside clothes whirlygig.

Wonderful Weybourne
We loved this house! It suited all of our age group. From 87 to 30..... the downstairs ensuite was brilliant for my elderly mother, the upstairs accommodation was also very generous in size and can sleep 6 adults. There are two bathrooms upstairs one ensuite. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, plates and cutlery. The garden was quiet, private and comfortable to sit in. Games were provided in chalet in the garden. Lots of parking in front of house. Weybourne was quiet at night with one eatery, but we went into Sherringham and Blakeney on the other evenings. Overall we would definately return to this house - 10/10!

About the host

Having spent many years holidaying in North Norfolk with our extended family, we've grown to love the area and keep getting drawn back. Over the years we have stayed in some great, and some not-so-great places, and decided that we would combine all the best bits to create somewhere of our own at Woodside

Why they chose this property

We are passionate about holidays and believe that it's the small details that make a big difference, from lots of fluffy towels and luxury bedding to great entertaining spaces to come together and smaller spaces to enjoy some privacy and quiet. As parents we understand that the happier and more entertained the kids are the more we enjoy the holiday, and while Woodside is by no means child centric, we've put a lot of thought into keeping all the family entertained (snug with games console, toys and separate media station, a 'Beach Hut' in the garden and games room).

We love Woodside, and hope you will too.
