About the property

Enjoy Our 3 Bedroom 2 Bath A-Frame Cottage. Expansive Deck With A Glorious View

Bring the family or just stay with us and play golf daily. This is your perfect oasis for kicking back and relaxing in the Great Smokey Mountain area. Our A-frame cottage is nestled on the hill with a lovely view of the golf course and surrounding mountains. In the winter it has an almost fool proof driveway. No ice or sharp turns to maneuver. The balance of the year you will find us sunny and bright. The south facing is resplendent with glass from top to bottom.

Entry onto the main level requires that you go up one flight of stairs. When booking with us, please factor this in. The driveway, while moderately steep, will only allow for 3 cars. This number will go down if you are bringing a truck.

We have lived here since the mid-seventies. We remodeled the kitchen, master bath and living areas very recently. The upstairs bedrooms and bath were updated at that time.

You will love our 'little slice of heaven'. It is tranquil, yet not far from the path. We are very close to a babbling brook. All of the children spend hours in the stream and chase lost golf balls for the remainder of the day. Our yard has a small grassy area for the children to play. It is not expansive and it does slope down to the road. This may not be ideal for very small children.

Our deck area attracts a myriad of birds. If you keep the seed out there you will never fail to be entertained by Mother Nature's many air born beauties. The size of the deck makes your stay a wonderful commingling of inside and out. Sit and read or enjoy the area with the entire family. Our proximity to the Country Club is wonderful. You will delight in the ease of getting there for your tee time.

Our fireplace has just been upgraded and awaits your skilled take on a night indoors by the flames. We also have a fire pit if you would like to take it outside and sit out on the hill and toast marshmallows and tell ghost stories. We ask that you clean it and return it to the basement before you leave.

We hope that you will come and sit in our loungers, take your shoes off and relax for a weekend or a month. You will certainly love it as much as we do.

About Cindie Blanck

Our family lives in Miami Florida. We have owned this property since the mid-seventies. We vacation there often and all of the grandchildren still call it 'home'. We have recently updated it and we keep it ready and uncluttered waiting for the next family or friend to unpack. You will be delighted to stay in our precious slice of paradise.

Why Cindie Blanck chose Maggie Valley

We are especially suited to anyone who would rather not travel the typical mountain switch backs. You can easily eat dinner out and never fret about the simple drive home. You can also run up to the local market to get the paper and be back long before your morning coffee gets cold. Most importantly, you do not trade off the view to get these features.

Great time!

  • 4 of 5

We so enjoyed the house. Loved the 3 levels and since we had some rainy days during our stay there was plenty of room for the kids to spread out and have fun!. The house was clean and very comfortable. The amenities like dishwashing liquid, trash bags, laundry detergent, different kind of spices, etc were a nice surprise and much appreciated. The surroundings were beautiful and close to activities. We visited the Smoky Mountains Gold and Ruby Mine Company and all 4 of the kids fell in love with "prospecting". Their haul was impressive!. Price was very reasonable and a good value at $50 for a 5 gallon bucket of paydirt. Kept the kids and Grandpa busy for a few hours sluicing and talking with the Assayer while parents and Grandma watched. Cleaning and categorizing the gems was good for another couple hours back at the house. Also had the chance to see a herd of elk up close and personal on the Cherokee and Blue Ridge Parkway. AWESOME!! Great time was had by all.

We survived

Pros and cons, we arrived at night, roads leading to home tight & narrow, Google maps had us going in circles - hard to find, parking wash barely meant for one - we had 3 cars, no where for kids to safely play outside, busted our butts twice on earth steps leading to kitchen back door note: not cold or wet. Down stairs musky. Steep stairs leading up to the main level door open towards you on stairs, kitchen fully loaded nice, however its no purpose if there's no seating to eat had to take shifts inconvenience kitchen seats 2 dining/living room 2 as well. LR TV area fireplace with couch & loveseat comfy but firm which was great open view with nice deck no real seating, plastic wobble chairs. Main bedroom has AC king sized bed, bathroom has shower sink no tub so hard to wash kids, carpeted stairs lead you up from main level to, 2 bed rooms (lamp lighting only) and bath which made for a tight set up at top. It gets hot at night only one window AC, loud. The upper bath room has a shower, toilet, and sink - not for a person 5ft or taller. One room has TV with king bed no head board the bed spread had questionable crusting like dried grits or crème wheat point blank nasty. The other room has wobbling twin beds and no TV. No game room, no real feature's. In other words its OK not for small kids nor big teens not for elderly or ageing seniors not for bad knees or health issues because of climbing steps will have a fit person out of breath. Location was ideal in the "heart" of everywhere Walmart was 15 minutes around the way, gas stations and shops too. The rental was dated with the exception of kitchen and main bath. Kind of small also, compared to home. Conflicting notes throughout rental on departure time (10:00 or 11:00) and cleaning fees(70.00 or 100.00). Cleaning fee shouldn't be enforced at all because the renter is required to clean and even start a sheet set so bring a pod or small bottle of detergent. The rental wasn't clean in my opinion. FYI you have to take you trash away too so, make sure if your leaving on Sunday you take your trash out Saturday before 5 pm. Final note all in all it wasn't bad but it wasn't "the one" to keep renting. Price was decent but not for the condition of rental and requirements.

If I may make Suggestions- name it or number it for locating, Seating for eating, AC, Bath Tub, bottom level game room or outside Hot tub, Bedroom update 4 full or queen beds in upper level, Parking, More towels, Pillow's softer.

Owner's Response: We are appreciative that this renter gave us constructive comments on some areas of the cabin which did not suit her family well. While most of the issues were stated in our overview, I went back to highlight the issue of the stairs leading up from the basement entry. This is indeed an important piece of information for many. Our modestly priced cabin is appropriate for many, but the details of it's limitations are best included in our overview. We are grateful for her words of advice.
