Our house is tastefully furnished with a selection of French antiques complimented by the up to date comforts we all expect.
A kingsize bedroom on the ground floor, a lounge dining room with a wood burning stove, ideal for winter months. The kitchen is well equipped, having a large range cooker with double ovens, a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer. The down stairs bathroom room is equipped with a bath, bidet, sink and toilet.
On the first floor there are two further bedrooms, one kingsize and a twin. The second bathroom is equipped with a power shower, toilet and sink.
We also have a laundry room which guests are welcome to use. You will have access to our shared gym.
Interaction with Guests
As Cascaille is our permanent home we are available to help if needed and make recommendations of interesting places to visit.
Our house is the farms old converted barn, which you can see from our pictures. It is separate from the house, on the other side of the courtyard. The outside space is vast, you are free to enjoy, picnic in the meadows, explore the woods, walk the hills and tracks.

Cascaille sits on a hill, allowing you to enjoy the elevated countryside views all around you. Only a few minutes outside the village, or a short drive or cycle to the local town of Varilhes where you can visit one of the boulangerie for your baguette or maybe enjoy three course lunch at the Brasserie with the locals while you watch the world go by. If you fancy somewhere more touristic, Foix is a must with an abundance of cafes and restaurants.
We are on the doorstep of so many different touristic places to go. Discover wild swimming in the lakes. Puivert lake is ideal for children with its beached areas and they have a night market in the summer months selling food and drink, if you want to extend your day and dine there. It has a beautiful back drop of the Cathar Chateau and the mountains.
Foix lake is within a 10minute drive, canoes and pedalos can be hired.
Tarascon Base Nautique offers cable towed waterskiing circuit known as Teleski, which can be used with normal skis, kneeboards or mono boards. They have canoeing, electric boats, beach volleyball and a cafe snack bar.
There are also places to hire canoes for water rafting.
The Mediterranean is only 1 hour 30 minute drive, passing the beautiful sunflower fields, and vine yards. Narbonne Plage is well worth a visit having an abundance of shops cafe and restaurants. As does Gruissan where water sports are available. Don't forget to make time to visit Narbonne Town with its beautiful architecture.
Carcassonne medieval town is stunning you feel like you have stepped back in time. The castle sits on a hill with views of the town, this fortified town will not disappoint you.
