Freshly painted, beautiful century-old, 4 bedroom/ 1.5 bath (sleeps 7-8) farmhouse nestled on 5 beautiful rolling acres. Great for the family or couples who want to get away from it all, and an easy drive from NYC (90 miles). Beautiful hardwood floors throughout, retro kitchen complete with fridge, microwave, gas stove/oven, and dishwasher. Cabinets loaded with all the pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and cups you'll need. TV & DVD player for movies and Stereo/CD player. Outdoor fire pit for cook outs and cozy fireplace inside for chilly nights. House is perfectly located 5 miles from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, home of the original 1969 Woodstock Site and museum, 10 minutes from the charming town of Jeffersonville, 10 minutes from the bustling “Restaurant Row” in Kauneonga Lake, 20 minutes from the Monticello Raceway and Casino. Two ski resorts, Holiday Mountain and Villa Roma, are close by for the winter months of gentle skiing with the family. Nearby quaint river towns up and down the Delaware River make for great antiquing and day-trips.
My ol' college buddies and I were looking forward to a mini-reunion at an out-of-the-way place not too far from NYC, but not too close either. We found it, just outside of Bethel in this traditional farmhouse near Bethel. While the house looks better in photos than it did in person, the four of us were quite satisfied with its homey, comfortable feel. Each guy had plenty of room to hang out and re-tell old stories before retiring to our individual bedrooms. The house was exactly what we city-folk were looking for: a clean, roomy getaway in the middle of nowhere. The night sky shone beautifully with sharply the defined stars that the bright lights of NYC often obscure. Other than a brief, harmless scare from a garden snake in the backyard, there were no surprises -- it as was it was advertised to be. And that was fine with us.
A local, throwback breakfast shack decorated with leftover Woodstock-era knick-knacks would have made Janis and Jimi feel right at home; and the eggs were good, too. After our hearty meal, the boys had a great time taking out a pontoon on White Lake (despite the rain), which was less than 15 minutes away from the house.
We stopped by the Woodstock museum, but didn't feel like going in, although we perused the gift shop. The blatant merchandising of this peace/love/sharing landmark event seemed totally at odds with its simple, feel-good intent ... and the prices were outta sight, man.
My parents, my wife and her family stayed here to see a concert at Bethel Woods. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very close to Bethel Woods, especially since you can take the back roads to the venue which helps avoid all the concert traffic. The owner was great in regards to communication and accommodation. Would stay again!
Spent the weekend with a group of friends on this property and loved it! The owner was very accommodating with our departure and arrival times and was able to answer many questions and give us many recommendations upon arrival. The house was lovely, lots of outdoor space and very clean on the inside. Felt very comfortable! Had everything you could want.
This rental is great for anyone looking to visit Bethel Woods and attend a concert. 6 of us rented this farmhouse and had a wonderful time. House was very clean and beds were extremely comfortable. Beautiful area to visit and the owner is super easy to work with. We would definitely rent this home again!
