Hi, I'm Nicci. I have lived in Portland for 17 years! I am originally from New Jersey. I own and operate a little art gallery here in town called Nebraska. I have two little children Lili (6) and Monty (4) and a sweet little lab named Luigi. We are all living the Portland dream!
Nicci Driscoll purchased this apartment in 2004
It's cozy, quiet, clean and super comfy. Stocked with lots of local treats and local art. Lots of Privacy and close to so many great things!
All though the space is small(er) it was designed by one of Portland's finest Contemporary designers, Kenneth B. Wright of Rocketworks Industry. It is functional and modern accented with a whole lot of Portland charm. A must see and must stay!
We loved it, the kids had toys to play with and movies to watch, the location was perfect, located in a great neighborhood close to parks, groceries, bakery, laundromat and less than 15mins from everything else. The kids room with the raised floor gave it a fun tree-house vibe which made it easier to put the kids to bed here than in their room at home. One night my son came out to tell us that he didn't want to leave, "Mommy, I need this room" he said. That pretty much sums it up for all of us, we'll definitely be returning back soon.
Nicci's place was fun and comfy. She was helpful and friendly. Safe and secure neighborhood.
However, after 2 weeks I have not received my deposit back or any response to my 2 requests for info. For me, booking any vacation rental is just not worth signing up for the hassle of trying to get my deposit refunded. Will be going with a traditional hotel room in the future when possible.
The pictures don't do this place justice. It's all one room, but it's spacious and has high ceilings. It's SO QUIET. There are all kinds of awesome antiques and interesting pieces of art everywhere, but not in an overwhelming "check out how Bohemian we are!" way. My friend slept in the bed and I slept in the fold out bed, and we were both happy with our sleep. The kitchen area is small, but it got the job done for early breakfast and coffee. We will totally come back!
The casita was a wonderful choice instead of a hotel. Was clean and comfortable. It had great interesting decor. Will def be back next year if its available. Was also in a nice quiet neighborhood that we felt safe in.
Our family of 3 stayed in this colorful backyard casita with lots of artistic touches. Our host checked in to make sure we found our way and provided guidance on things to see with kids in the neighborhood and choosing a cafe to visit. The Sellwood and Westmoreland commercial districts were an easy 10 minute drive. Our daughter enjoyed separate small kids bedroom with trundle bed, leaf canopy, and star/moon themed night lights - quote, "best room ever".
We were here from California for three nights with our two teenage daughters looking at colleges and the casita was great. It is really comfortable and homey. The cold IPA in the frig for our arrival was a well appreciated nice touch. Nicci is supper cool and helpful while providing all the privacy one would want.
The casita is nestled in charming Eastmoreland and close to so many Portland attractions. The casita is stocked with lots of information on all the desirable tourist attractions and " the insiders guide " to Portland. If there is anything you need just let me know and I can arrange it for you!
It looks as if it's going to be a hot summer here in Portland. We do have air conditioning in the casita.
