4 bedrooms (sleeps 8), 3 bathrooms, large private gardens in a rural setting

Large beamed living room with glass fronted fireplace, exposed stone walls and beams and patio doors to terrace. Logs & lighting wood available from caretaker or neighbouring farmer a short walk away. There is a 42 inch flat screen TV with English & French channels. There is also a DVD and Video player, plus a CD player. There are a large range of games provided. There are also a number of books, CD's and DVD's in the bookcase for your enjoyment.

The well equipped kitchen seats 8 around a large wooden table in the middle of the kitchen. It also has an electric oven, gas hob and microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

Downstairs bathroom with WC, large shower & corner bath and electric towel rail.

Utility room, housing washing machine & tumble drier.

Open tread wooden staircase to first and second floors

First floor, 1 twin & 1 double bedroom plus bathroom with WC, shower, 2 basins and electric towel rail

Second floor - Attic room - superking size bed, sloping ceilings and exposed beams.

A second twin room with en-suite is accessed via a separate slightly narrow stairway over the kitchen. The en-suite bathroom has WC, shower, basin and heated towel rail.

Cot, 2 stairgates and highchair also provided.

Electric heaters in all rooms

Wifi included and a telephone for incoming calls only.

Large enclosed private garden with a built in BBQ. There is a table tennis table and dartboard housed in an open barn also in the garden.

About Nick & Philippa Jones

My wife, Philippa and I come from SE England and currently live near Tenterden in Kent and enjoy all the benefits of living in the countryside. Philippa is a qualified Optometrist and enjoys working in her profession in a clinical role. I was a Store Manager for a well known retailer for 30 years which I thoroughly enjoyed, before making a brave decision to change my career to now concentrate on volunteering work and I've never looked back. We are definitely both drawn to rural properties and having viewed 22 properties in France back in 2004, when we viewed Ty Menhir, we both knew it was perfect for what we were looking for - our own enjoyment plus letting it out for others to also enjoy.

We come over to stay at the house at least 4 times a year both to maintain the house & gardens and also to enjoy what Cotes D'armor has to offer.

Over the years, we've added the 4th bedroom with en-suite and outdoor pool. Oh and not forgetting the shutters on day 1 of owning the property after a hasty visit to the 'Marie' (townhall) to check we didn't need permission!

Chateau de la Roche Jagu - This castle is in a spectacular setting on the banks of the Trieux river. It is set in 60 hectares of land with attractive gardens including a water garden and marked paths taking you down to the river bank and around the grounds. You can visit the inside of the Chateau and although not furnished, is still worth a visit. There is also a Restaurant with outside terrace open most days for coffee and lunch. The Chateau is within walking distance of the house.

Paimpol Town - just an 18 minute drive from the house, this is the nearest town on the coast. It hosts a wide range of watersports, variety of shops, restaurants & tourist information.

Pontrieux - nearest village just 10 minutes from the house is a 'Cite de charactere', offering trips down the picturesque river most of the year. There is also a steam train that runs between Pontrieux and Paimpol over the summer months, which travels along the banks of the Trieux.

The Pink Granite Coast is one of the most beautiful stretches of Brittany's coastline runs pretty much between Brehat, near Paimpol and Ploumanach.

L'ile de Brehat - This island is located just off the coast from Paimpol and is easily reached via a 15 minute ride. No cars are allowed on the island and it is well known for its beautiful and abundant flowers eg Agapanthus.

Amoripark - this is the nearest water theme park approx. 30 minutes from the house.

Perros Guirec - This area is very popular with tourists, particularly in the summer due to its attractive coastline and larger harbour.

Beauport Abbey - this has both monastic and natural heritage, which celebrated its 800th Anniversary in 2002. In the summer after dusk, you can enjoy a walk around its grounds with the Abbey all lit up. It is open to the public all year round and is situated 15 km from the house.

Port Blanc - near Penvenan approx. 30 minutes from the house, is picturesque bay. Its protected from the swell of the ocean by a pile of boulders, therefore offering sailing and watersports opportunities in total safety. (catamaran, dinghy and windsurfing classes. It also offers a kindergarten for 4 to 8 year olds. Port Blanc also has a protected swimming area away from the boats for bathers to enjoy.
