About Jenny Panagiotarea
I live in Athens where my husband works and my son studies so I cannot live in Mikri Mantinia where I prefer to be.
Why Jenny Panagiotarea chose Ditiki Mani
This house was my father's house. Once I was a little girl, every summer I would come to this house. The feeling of freedom that I felt and the magic that the sea made me witness, are feelings that I've felt only in this place. Everytime someone comes to this house and I host them, I love how the place and the house make them feel the same feelings as those I feel about this amazing place.
What makes this House unique
This house is unique because of spectacular views of the sea (the whole Messinia bay can be seen by the terrace) ,as you will be able to see also the mountain. The sea offers suck a wide variety of activities suck as swimming, fishing, surfing or just resting under the bright sun. However these are not the only activities possible. There are incredible excursions that one can do at this place, such as the so called Polilimnio (a group of some beautiful lakes), the mountain, the castle or some of the other nearby beaches.

Thank you Ron for your review. We were also lucky to have you here in Mikri Mantineia and we hope to see you again.
We had two weeks and absolutely loved staying at this property .... we felt like we were experiencing a bit of real Greece. The location is a delight, beautiful views, lovely swimming/snorkelling. Close enough to explore some of the wonders of the Ancient Greece (car required). Within walking distance of tavernas and a local shop. And at the end of the holiday we had lunch with Theodore and his family amongst his olive groves .... a perfect end to the holiday (thankyou). Missing it already and we will be visiting again. Thank you for making the time special. Rachel and the girls 😀
Thank you for giving us the pleasure that you have been satisfied. We hope to see you again.
A lovely break
We had a wonderful relaxing break. This homely, characterful property was charming. All the focus seemed to be around the amazing view on all levels straight out onto the sea. There are plenty of comfy corners inside and out to relax in the shade and sun. The deck on the top floor was great for stargazing. Jenny and Theodore were a pleasure too.
A lyrical place
A quirky, happy, welcoming house on the beach. We loved it. There is a separate, private little eyrie at the top with fabulous views across the bay and out to sea. The terrace overlooks calm, clear water and is shaded by two lovely trees. The house is full of charming places to sit an most of the rooms face the sea. There are steps down to a pebble beach where the water is perfect for swimming. It is tranquil and very relaxing and we hope to return.
Thank you Angie for your review! We'd love to see you again!
Neat quirky house with an amazing view
We had a great stay in this traditional house. It had everything that was advertised and the owner was super friendly and very easy to work with. Would stay again without hesitation.
2 meters from the sea.
Old house with all what is needed and a lot of charm.
When we had a problem with the heating the owner brought alternative heating at the same evening.
Peloponnese (the south edge of mainland Greece) is the geographical department that displays a large number of historical sights, a rich partition of coasts, a hinterland with beautiful nature, villages with a remarkable architecture, developed cities and a high touristic infrastructure.
It boasts the largest and most spectacular concentration of ancient sites, including Mycenae, Epidavros, ancient Messini and Olympia, where the Olympic games were founded. Less known but equally fascinating are the many Byzantine (medieval) cities, churches and fortresses, including the hill town of Mystras and the sea-rock of Monemvasia. The rugged Mani peninsula, central of the three positively bristles with towers and frescoed chapels. Or, if you fancy something more cosmopolitan, check out the elegant seaside town of Nafplion, with its narrow alleys, tiled houses, castles and festivals.
Those who prefer natural wonders to man-made will not be disappointed. The southerly mountain range of Taygetos offers breathtaking gorges, spring flowers and well-maintained mule paths to link them. Some of Greece's finest beaches can be found on the western finger around Pylos, or along the endless pine-shaded strand that forms the west coast.
Day trips can easily be arranged to many historical sites - Olympia, Mystras , Monemvasia to name but three. In Kardamili , 25 km (mentioned in Homer's The Iliad) there are numerous tavernas and good tourist shops as well as the site of Ancient Kardamili with a fascinating little museum. This a popular area with walkers on way marked paths all over the Taygetos mountains. You can also explore (by boat) the famous Diros caves, about 90 minutes driving.
Kalamata (10 km) is a lively, typical Mediterranean city. The old town in the north is picturesque, full of cafes, farmer's restaurants and shops selling local products. The center of the city has prestigious cafes and all kinds of modern shops. The sea front is 2.5 km long pebble beach full of cafes, bars, pizzerias, and night clubs. Walking on the sea front is a pleasure during the evenings. The town has many major super markets with all kind of products.
It is not difficult to come to the house from Kalamata. You just follow the costal road . It's about 15 minutes from Kalamata and 1500 metres from the point when you meet the Mikri Mantinia sign.
