Guestbook comments from the manager

We already love this spectacular house in this midieval town with it's narrow streets and some bit mysterious atmosphere! 😊 Can't believe that the house is 500 years old. Fantastic renovation done here! And I can tell you that the finishing is very high level, great job done here! Kitchen and bathroom are equipped and finished at a very high level. The beds with the memory foam mattresses make you feel like you sleep on roses. Environment is magnificent with lovely villages like Apriciale, Perinaldo and Dolceacqua. A bit further lovely cities and beaches in Ventimiglia, Bordigheri and Sanremo.

Fantastic house in medieval Italy

  • 5 of 5

I was chuffed to pieces when I won a 5 night stay at this townhouse as it looked so beautiful in the pictures and I have always loved holidaying in Italy so to visit a new area was just amazing!

My husband and I decided to book an extra 2 nights and so it was the perfect week away before Easter! Rachel was very attentive and sent through a fantastic guide before we went which we used a lot during our trip.

We flew to Nice airport which was about 1 hour and 20 minutes drive to the townhouse on the motorway (3 toll roads). I would strongly advise hiring a car to visit this area and get the most out of your trip. Our fiat 500 was very economical!!

The drive up to Pigna on the mountain road was lovely; through several medieval villages that we visited during our trip. Rachel greeted us on arrival and showed us around the townhouse which was great. We were also really grateful for the hamper that had been left with treats and essentials for our stay, including the easter treats! :-) There were also plenty of nice treats around the townhouse including Molton Brown toiletries, Yankee Candles and Jo Malone diffusers (so tempted to buy one now!).

The townhouse was gorgeous! It had 3 spacious bedrooms and a lovely bathroom, kitchen and lounge area across 3 floors. The tiled floors are very cold though so I would advise wearing slippers or flip flops inside! The jacuzzi bath was very welcome after a long hike in the mountains - even my husband had 2 and I've never known him to take a bath!! The kitchen amenities were great and the townhouse provided everything we needed for a week away. We tended to have lunch out and then eat in the townhouse on an evening and relax with a DVD. We played a few board games on our last night too!

Pigna was a really lovely town and we loved exploring all of the alleyways and discovering new areas. It was our favourite of all the villages because there was always something going on and the locals were very friendly. We ate at Sul Ponte twice (amazing pizza), went for lunch at La Posta (amazing pasta), had delicious ice cream at Desir-Roy and enjoyed prosecco/beer at the 'music bar' in the piazza with a lovely view of the valley.

We definitely made the most of our week here and there is a lot to do without travelling too far. I'd say you have to be fairly fit because the area is very hilly but equally you can relax at the local cafes! We visited all the nearby villages as well as Menton and Monaco in France which were great!

fantastic stay in an authentic Italian village

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a fantastic time at Liguria Holiday Homes! The house blends in perfectly in the medieval village, while at the same time offering everything you need to ensure a comfortable stay: luxury kitchen appliances, fluffy towels, comfortable beds and even a whirlpool bath! We really appreciated the board games, the ideal way to spend quality time over a glass of wine!

Pigna, as well as the surrounding villages, are little jewels at the foot of the Ligurian alps. There are hardly any tourists here and the locals will greet you with a very welcoming "buongiorno". If you're looking for a bit more action, then San Remo or Monaco are only an hour away! I would definitely recommend the place!! It's the ideal house for a romantic getaway or a cosy stay with friends!

Home away from home with comfortable and high-end amenities

  • 5 of 5

I've only been here for half a day but thought it was worth mentioning our wonderful this townhouse is. First off, even before you go to Liguria, Rachel gives you the most detailed guidebook there is. It'll make you feel like you have to stay for weeks. Then when you get here, Rachel gives you the most warm welcome and shows you around the house. She even has local food for you to try! Anyways, half a day here, and I've already cooked in the kitchen, which is stocked with everything you need, have taken a bath in the whirlpool tub with jets, and took a nap. Everything here is made of high quality including the toiletries she offers. Only here half a day and would already recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful, modern, and well-equipped place to stay in Liguria! I don't see myself exploring much outside of Pigna because with the restaurants and hiking in Pigna, plus this wonderful townhouse, I'll have plenty to do.
