Beautiful villa and stunning views
Waking up every morning to such beautiful views, (even when it rained) was a highlight for me. The villa was well equipped and we found there to be plenty of useable pots and pans to cook at the villa on the days we didn’t wish to eat out. Our two boys aged 3 and 8 enjoyed exploring all around the outside of the villa in the many different levels. We ventured down to the square of Coveta Fuma for the boys to play in the children’s play area, but found the bars and restaurants were a lot quieter during our stay (end October). We have visited Coveta Fuma 7 years ago so are familiar with the area and whilst the tram is very convenient for visiting El Campello and other coastal towns we felt it would be worthwhile hiring a car for our stay, which made supermarket shopping much easier. Communication with Daniel was brilliant, he responded to my messages quickly and provided all the relevant information to access the villa which was straight forward. We didn’t have any issues during our stay though I have no doubt any problems would have been quickly rectified. There was building work ongoing during our stay, with a big crane being visible and digging into the rocks. But I had seen from a previous reviewer this would be the case and so we didn’t let it bother us. I can imagine how amazing the views would be without the construction, and I don’t imagine it will be continuing for too much longer. The pool was too cold for us to swim in, though we did try. Having it heated would be great for the cooler months when it’s warm enough to sunbath. I hadn’t realised the water temps would drop so low at this time of year, so that’s a learn for me. We had a fantastic time at Casa Marron, the villa really was like being in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental and we would love to stay again soon.
Beautiful stay with friends - will definitely go back
Five friends met for a get together at Casa Marron - we loved it! Beautiful sunrises, fantastic view and lovely homely feel. Can't wait to go back.
Very well equipped villa. Spotlessly clean. Great pool.
Five Star residence, in a truly fabulous location
Wonderfully homely and extremely well equipped, to a very high quality specification. Its inspiring and quiet beautiful views, are only further enhanced by its beautiful garden. I found Daniel (the owner) to be very attentive and caring of all our very particular needs … nothing was ever too much of a problem for him!! In addition, the thoughtful care we received from Eve; on the ground support, was both informative and genuinely friendly … so very handy to have locally, in support of any issues. Having stayed in a variety of locations and villas, the memorable time we experienced in Coveta Fuma at the lovely Casa Marron has already inspired us to book again next year ... it has my highest recommendation!!!
Excellent with Stunning views over the sea
This is an area I was not familiar with so was delighted to find that areas like this do still exist in Spain with an array of restaurants all very reasonable priced and the large gin and tonics went down well. I spoke to the owner who was very helpful and true to his word the villa was very well equipped and we wanted for nothing with all the mod cons.
The owner was very honest and upfront and explained that there was another villa being worked on across the road with construction traffic and some noise and so therefore the price was reflected in this in mind - much appreciated to know beforehand but completely out of their control.
They have a fantastic lady Eve who is responsible for the change overs and general upkeep who seems to do everything from collections at airports to changing of a light bulb nothing was too much bother for her only wish I could take her home and I might add the place was spotless
Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and we have already booked for next year. We have travelled to many corners of the world and it is really refreshing to find somewhere that is exactly how it is described so thank you.
The villa was stunning and ideal for a large family.
The reason for the less than 5 stars was a series of frustrating issues. The WiFi was not available on our arrival on Saturday and was not operational until Tuesday. Eve who manages the villa was superb at getting it fixed, but most frustrating as mobile data was not working and I’m self employed. We then had an issue with the electrics, losing power when cooking and again thanks to Eve, an electrician was called out but it was then day 6 of our holiday. The DVD was broken and was replaced very swiftly. The pool became cloudy but again prompt action by Eve, this was a welcome fix as the children’s eyes were stinging prior to this, perfect after. The worst aspect was the building work happening directly outside the villa, starting at 8am and not stopping until 8pm. Can you imagine lying by the pool, a crane swings over the hedge and the tranquility is destroyed by drilling, lorries and it lasts all day. If this was at all foreseeable, I just wouldn’t have booked the villa, I have footage, it really was intrusive. It truly is a beautiful villa and Eve was amazing, perhaps we were just unlucky in light of the other positive reviews.
Many thanks for your review, all comments are taken seriously. There was an unfortunate series of circumstances such as the DVD player, which like you said was replaced by midday the next day, the one off electrical problem which was mentioned half way though your stay and repaired the next day and again the pool which can unfortunately turn cloudy quite quickly hot weather in and hence why we ask guests to report any murkiness as soon as possible; and again the pool engineer was called out that very same day to solve the problem.
The internet connection was reported to us on Saturday evening and it turned out to be a fault on the line and we amazingly managed to get an engineer there for Tuesday morning. Normally, most people would have simply switched to data roaming (it would have only involved a call to your provider) however you were convinced that you were the only people in Europe who would be charged for using their data abroad.
As for the building work, there is a villa being constructed two houses down the road and there has, on occasion, been some noise. However, there has been no noise throughout the summer and again it was just unfortunate that they happened to be digging the footings the week you were there. Obviously this is out of our hands and we had been told that the work would be noisy for a limited period whilst this element of the construction took place but were never told when to expect it to start (in fact we were told the construction was supposed to have been finished by May this year!!)
I do understand your frustration but I do feel that we handled everything extremely efficiently in order to create the best possible holiday experience. We are sorry that you had any cause for complaint as it is very important to us that the villa always maintains a five star status.
La Coveta Fuma has a village atmosphere with good local facilities including a few bars, restaurants and a small supermarket, all within walking distance of the villa. There are numerous small coves for swimming and the finest is a mere 50m from the house. Close by is El Campello with numerous restaurants, bars and a beautiful sandy beach.
