Description

Photos and Description of this holiday cabin in Port Angeles - Loch Nest

Our cozy cabin on Lake Crescent is an amazing opportunity to experience the beauty of the lake. Just a few steps from the beach, our cabin is the perfect place to relax and have a carefree escape. The hammock outside creates a fantastic place to read a book and even take a nap. And the spacious wrap around deck is a great place to get out of the sun. Our dock is our favorite part of the property. It is perfect for enjoying the view and the water. There is even a slide for the kids and the kids at heart. For the afternoons when the water is flat, you can take the kayaks for a spin. Don’t worry they are nearly impossible to tip and great for those of us that aren’t experts. We hope that you enjoy this cabin as much as we do. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! We want your stay to be as great as it can be.

The cabin was built in the 1950s using wood from a Port Angeles mill. We bought the property and have since remodeled. The cabin is 400 square feet and includes a kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining space and sleeping area. The sleeping area has a raised, queen size bed that allows views of the lake.

There is a large parking area and stairs are used to access the cabin.

The Loch Nest cabin is the perfect place to stay whether you are enjoying a quiet retreat or exploring Olympic National Park and surrounding areas.

About Jana

Steve and I were both raised in Sequim and that is were we have decided to raise our family. If you have any questions about the surrounding areas, we have a lot of information to offer.

Jana purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Jana chose Olympic Peninsula

Our family has been enjoying this piece of Olympic National Park since 2009. Before buying in the park, we spent many hours close to East Beach. When we first bought the cabin, there wasn't indoor plumbing! All four of us have put hours of hard work to make the place what it is today. We love spending time on the lake whether it be swimming, boating, kayaking or fishing. We have also utilized the great hiking trails nearby and the Olympic Discovery trail. Lake Crescent has amazing beauty any season of the year and anytime of the day.

This was the perfect, tiny cabin get-away we were hoping for. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and majesty of Lake Crescent. The Loch Nest really does have everything you need. Our interest was a casual, relaxed trip to the Olympic Peninsula and wanted a home base as well as a destination in itself. This is absolutely what we got. Our older child begged us to "just not go anywhere in the car" and we were happy to oblige. Our only regret is not staying longer. The cabin is centrally located to the western coast as well as points eastward.

We LOVE Loch Nest on Lake Crescent!

  • 5 of 5

The Loch Nest was the perfect vacation place for us. Small and cozy with everything you could possible need. The kitchen was completely outfitted and the bed was comfortable. Even the sleeping mats for our daughters were comfortable and had nice sheets available for them. Everything was spotless and first class. Of course our favorite thing was the fabulous dock and clear water for swimming. We loved the kayaks and stand up paddle board. There is great hiking nearby and we loved the "punch bowl" for swimming. We hope to come back next summer! I can't say enough nice things about the Loch Nest. It was perfect for our family get away! Thank you!!!

Perfect quiet retreat right on Lake Crescent

  • 5 of 5

Loch Nest is a cosy and wonderful little spot to get away from it all! It has a quiet and secluded location right on Lake Crescent and is well presented both inside and out. If we lived any closer to it then we'd definitely return.

Fantastic Place

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Loch Nest. It is a perfect cabin on the shores of Lake Crescent. The views are amazing, the dock is wonderful, and the cabin is stocked with everything you need to have a great trip. Hopefully we can make it back soon!

Awesome, peaceful, had a great time.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for two nights. When we left we wondered if we could afford to buy the cabin. Probably not.

The cabin is great, it is exactly what the pictures represent. It's small, there isn't a stove (no cook top, but there is a full featured convection/microwave), no internet, and there are a lot of stairs to get back up to your car. Accepting those limitations, the cabin and setting are beautiful, peaceful and absolutely qualify as a getaway kind of trip.

For us, it was cool to eat out. Found a local hangout called the Blackberry Cafe we went to twice (we never go to the same place twice while on vacation).

But the real jewel is the lake. There is a front porch/deck/whatever that has a couple tables and chairs. There's a small beach with a small fire pit, where there are little lake waves lapping onto the shore (when it gets windy the "little waves" can be heard inside the cabin). But what we did was drag a couple of the plastic chairs to the end of the dock and "sat in the middle of the lake". Very cool, very peaceful.

I suppose an advantage we had was that neither of the neighboring cabins were occupied. That meant complete privacy.

You could certainly take two other people with you, there is a pull out bed, but it's a small cabin, so you should probably know them well. There is a washer/dryer. There is a very interesting shower, that once we got used to it was kind of fun. When the sign says "5:00" believe it. If that's too warm try 6:00.

Anyway... awesome place, well worth the value. We'll be back.

Wonderful Lake Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Who doesn't dream of having a cabin on a lake? And what a lake this is! We really enjoyed waking up and having the dock and pier being the first thing we see out the window. It is right on the lake, literally, with your private dock, deck and kayak rentals (a big bonus). Great location since it's a 1-hour drive to Hurricane Ridge and also a 1-hour drive to Rialto Beach. We cooked dinner in all three nights and enjoyed kayaking at sunset. Then the stars came out and wow, what a show. We saw several shooting stars and possibly a comet. This was a great experience on Crescent Lake and really enjoyed our time there. There were just the 2 of us and it was perfect for 2. The bats are a little pesky in the evening but otherwise it was just wonderful!
