Ideally situated for exploring the beautiful harbours along the north coast of Cornwall, Damson Cottage is a charming, detached, single-storey barn conversion on the outskirts of the village of Withiel. The property has been thoughtfully furnished with beams, antlers, a wood burner and other country décor that’s sympathetic to its rural location. There’s a large bathroom with a separate shower cubicle and a feature bath for having a soak in the evenings. Outside, the large lawn is perfect for al fresco dining or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of the country, and there’s also a secluded courtyard. To the north-west, Padstow is home to an array of shops, pubs, restaurants and a popular cycle trail, and fans of Doc Martin will be drawn to Port Isaac, which is where the TV series was filmed. The villages of Rock and Polzeath are also well worth a visit, and further down the coast is Newquay, with its fantastic beaches and surfing opportunities. An afternoon spent exploring Cardinham Woods is a must for cyclists, Bodmin Moor offers some fantastic walking terrain, and the National Trust property Lanhydrock House is just a short drive away. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
