This 800+ square foot cabin is located in rural south Georgia away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Fully furnished, all you need is to get here. Fire pit, gas grill, pool table, and catch and release fishing are awaiting your arrival. Sit on the swing under the elm trees and enjoy watching the barn yard animals. It's an easy drive to town and restaurants and small town shopping. Golfing and historic museum close by. An easy drive to Moultrie for events ar Spence Field, or Adel for the motor speedway events.
Hank and Margaret have been taking care of travelers for nine years now. With a clear understanding of 'southern hospitality' we want to make you feel at home as quick as a wink. Both of us are ordained ministers, we have a house church right here on the premises. Don't worry - you won't notice - nor will it spoil your privacy. Now for the grand kids, they won't bother you except you may see the littlest one and Papa headed to the barn to feed the goats and chickens and gather the eggs. Seems like being a grand parent became natural in just a few short days of the first one's arrival! Being as we keep them most days, you can enjoy the grand kids too at times.
When we remodeled ten years ago, we made a nice pond house for fish fries, children's parties, etc. Then the kids all scooted away to college and careers leaving us with not just an empty house, but an empty pond house too! It is just to peaceful and comffy to let it sit idle so we decided to offer it to others to enjoy. Our guests are always glad they find us. You will be glad too.
If it's peace and quiet you are after, look no farther. The swing under the trees is pretty much a no brainer. Read a book, feed a goat your leftovers, pet a spoiled cat, catch a fish, or just let the breeze blow through your hair. This is the place for you. We just couldn't live in town any longer!
We were pleasantly surprised by the cabin and the peaceful surroundings. We will plan a longer stay next time.
My husband and I live in Tampa Bay area, and we were looking to stay at a quiet, relaxing place away from the city -- We could not have found a more perfect place! The cabin was charming, extremely clean, had plenty of space and tons of personality, and the grounds around it were very peaceful and scenic. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time and effort maintaining the property to keep it looking pretty! We loved sitting out on the dock, visiting the goats, playing pool, and overall just enjoying the view! The cabin was very private, few neighbors nearby, but it didn't take us more than 10 - 15 minutes to get to basic places (restaurants, grocery store, gas station, etc.) Margaret was very kind and helpful! We are looking forward to staying there again in the future!!
Clean, cozy place in the country. Plan for meals because all food is a drive to town. It was very comfortable for us and our dogs and also private. We would stay again.
What a great little find!!! We travel between Tampa and our vacation home in the NC mountains and love to find interesting half way stopping places for when we get a late start out of town. This property was not far off the interstate, was reasonably priced, had a lovely setting on a pond with geese and goats and fish to feed and the owner served a great breakfast!!! My young niece and nephew had a lot fun and the owners were very kind. We will be back. Thank you Margaret for your hospitality.
It was a pleasure to spend a week in such relaxing surroundings. Enjoyed everything from morning devotions on the screened porch to walking the grounds, to watching the goats. Also enjoyed day visits to local attractions. No doubt will return again.
Shalom Pond House cabin was everything we hoped for. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch overlooking the pond watching the ducks. Goats, larks, a couple of chickens gave the feeling of being on a farm. The beautiful landscaping added to the beauty of the cabin.Very peaceful and serene, yet not secluded or too far from the college town of Tifton.
