This custom built 3 story brick beachfront oasis rests on the private and secluded St. Teresa Beach. St. Teresa is three miles of sprawling sugar sand on one of Florida's 41 aquatic preserves. This is truly one of the few unspoiled remaining hidden gems of Florida's developing Gulf Coast!
The Beach and the Gulf are just steps away directly outside the door of this spacious 3,000 square foot heated and cooled living area which also boasts over 1,100 square feet of outside Beach/Gulf viewing porches and decks.
**1st Floor **
Consist of a Kitchen (complete with range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, sink, dishes, utensils, etc.), Family Room with Eating Area, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Washer/Dryer, Outdoor Shower and large Screened in Porch with rocking chairs and ping pong table overlooking Beach/Gulf. The 3 Bedrooms on the First Floor include: (1) Master suite overlooking the Gulf with King Bed and Full Bath,, (2) Bedroom overlooking the Gulf with Queen Bed as well as Daybed with Trundle and Half Bath, and (3) Bedroom with Bunk Bed and Daybed with Trundle. A Full Bath is located next to the Bunk bedroom and the living area with access to outdoor shower. First floor has tile floors, area rugs and all the rooms except the Bunk Bed room have sliding glass doors opening to the 1st floor screened in porch and overlook the beach and Gulf.
**2nd Floor **
The 'Main Living Area' has Brazilian cherry floors, white-washed cathedral ceiling and exhibits an expansive open concept living area overlooking the Gulf with a fully equipped and well stocked (pots, pans, dishes, utilities, etc.) spacious Kitchen, Family Dining Area, Living Room, Half Bath with terracotta sink, large covered Cathedral Porch overlooking the Gulf with teak furnishings for outside viewing and dining. The kitchen has granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and a large central island with seating for five. The family dining table seats ten guests. The living room area has an oversize bay window with a custom couch and chairs. The second floor has the 4th Bedroom, a Master Suite which overlooks the Gulf with a King Bed, sitting area with couch, Full Bathroom with separate his and her vanities, enclosed toilet area, inside shower as well as a private outside shower with Gulf and Beach views. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area and the master suite all have stunning beach and Gulf front views with sliding glass doors that open directly onto the cathedral porch. There is an outside spiral staircase from the 2nd floor for direct beach access in addition to the inside access..
**3rd Floor **
The third floor includes the 5th Bedroom, overlooks the Gulf with a Queen Bed, a Daybed with Trundle, and a Full bath. This suite opens up to the Outside 3rd Story Deck with majestic views and is perfect for sunning, star gazing. etc.
**Other Great and General Information About This Property**
There is a thermostat on each of the 3 floors for ease in individual climate control settings.
All rooms except Bunk Bedroom have Beach/Gulf Views.
The property has it's own private driveway, large parking area and sits right on St Teresa Beach with private and direct access to the Beach and Gulf
House has Dish Network, Land Telephone Line and Wi-Fi.
The beach has sugar white sand with Tides changing from low to high with gentle waves and no dangerous undertow. Low tide is especially perfect for younger children and provides sandbars for playful activity.
Access to fishing/observation pier extending over the water into the Gulf!
Surf fishing is great so be ready to prepare your catch of the day.
Dolphins swimming off shore are a common sight as are various species of birds. Wildlife viewing is awesome.
Public Golf Course just 6 miles to the west.

Three generations of our family have been coming from Tallahassee beginning in the 1940's to enjoy the family property at St Teresa.. Owner's grandparents first built in St Teresa and that house is still enjoyed by our family next door. Owner built advertised listing in 2004. We booked the St Teresa beach house for a small family reunion, and we had a marvelous time. The house is large and beautiful, overlooking a large, unspoiled, private beach. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, beach combing are the peaceful & relaxing activities that we enjoyed. There are no hotels or condos on this beach, just private beach homes. A true gem of an experience.
This house has the perfect set up for your family or multiple families. We enjoyed the beautiful beachfront view from the upper deck as the kids played on the beach. A week wasn't nearly long enough, but we will definitely be back soon! Thank you for providing such a wonderful and clean stay!
This is the place for a quiet get away , cooking your own great meals and long walks on the beach. The kitchen is well appointed and you can get the freshest seafood about 20 minutes away at Millenders seafood. Get your groceries in Tallahassee though, shopping is limited nearby.
Almost every day dolphin came by, we saw osprey, a sharp shinned hawk, woodpeckers, a pair of cardinals and purple martins from the house porch. Also rare white squirrels in the trees. The topmost bedroom has a panoramic view of the whole alligator point peninsula and was a great place to go look at the stars at night.
Be aware there are lots of stairs on this 3 level house, but there is a second kitchen on he first floor, so guests downstairs have their own coffee maker at their level and can make their own breakfast if they want. Nice!
The thing I really love about this place is the deep porches. There is one screened downstairs and one un-screened upstairs for having coffee or breakfast, and watching the sunrise and set. The moon on the water at night is spectacular.
The furnishings and beds are comfortable. This is the kind of place you can have 3 couples at and have your own space. We didn't have any kids but the kids rooms looked nice. There was a mermaid room for girls and the bunk bed room for boys.
The gulf water is protected by long sandbars out at sea and are great for kayaking. They provide a double kayak to use. Bring your SUP if you have one, there are very few waves unless the wind really gets up.
You have to drive a bit to go out to eat but there are some good but very casual seafood restaurants around. Our favorite was Up the Creek in Appalachicola and also Fishermans Wife in Carabelle. Also there's the informal Anthony's shrimp place on the road that is really good, located just behind the fancy Anthony's on the water run by the same family.
If you are a wine drinker you gotta go to Two Blondes Liquor to get it, most places offer cheap white wine and they aren't sure if it's Chablis or Chardonnay. It's just bad box wine mostly. Oh well, the great seafood made up for that, and they do have a good beer selection most places. If you are a shopper, the only place to go is Appalachicola. I was surprised that they had such interesting shops in such a remote location. Other than that you can find good fishing gear easier than finding some new clothes.
We just loved this quiet get away and will be back next year!
Our group consists of a group of ladies who have been friends since high school. Every year we pick a different place to spend our girls getaway and this year we were very happy that we discovered this property. Being from Panama City, we all thought we knew the panhandle well. We were all delighted to find this hidden jewel called St. Teresa and fell head over hills in love with the area. The house met all of our expectations. Scott and Ann were wonderful. Even when they were faced with the devastation that Hurricane Hermine caused them personally, they made sure that we were kept informed of the status of the house. We have stayed at many houses over the years and this one ranked among our favorites. Even though this group changes the location of our get-together every year, several of us intend to recommend this house for family reunions.
We recently had a 4 night stay at this wonderful property and I can honestly say, there wasn't a complaint or a shred of disappointment from any of the 13 people in our group (ok maybe a a couple of the single guys in the group were a little sad about the lack of passersby on the beach). The descriptions of the house were spot-on and the beach is incredible. The house is massive, and has the type of space needed to give the individuals of a large party their privacy while also providing plenty of open space for group activities. As I joked about earlier, this is not a place to visit if you are looking for beach crowds, fighting for chair space on the beach, or a crazy night life. This house and location is all about getting away and providing a nearly private (we saw roughly 10 other people during our stay) beach experience. We basically had the entire beach to ourselves EVERYDAY.
As anyone who has rented from HomeAway/VRBO knows, their are multiple things that go into making a rental a truly great experience. In my opinion, one of those things is the type and depth of correspondence and involvement the renters have with the owner(s). In the case of this property, Scott and Ann were undoubtedly the best owners that I have ever had the pleasure of corresponding with and it made the overall experience that much more enjoyable. From helping with booking, to providing relevant travel, shopping, and community information and checking in via email after our arrival to ensure everything was what we expected, I have nothing but positive things to say about them.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would love to return for another vacation at this wonderful property in the future.
I feel like they are under promising on the house and over delivering! The house is huge and is segmented by floors. We put the kids and 1 other couple on the bottom floor which has it's own porch with rocking chairs and a ping pong table. We had the master on the main floor which was very nice and included a private outdoor shower (the kids also enjoyed this). Threre is another outdoor shower at the main entrance. The other couple with us used the private upstairs bedroom with it's own balcony. There are also two kitchens in the house with two refrigerators.
The main floor had a huge kitchen and dining table with a great living room. The best part was the HUGE porch with 6 rocking chairs and dining table. We spent every night out there enjoying the stars. Because it is so remote, I have never seen so many stars and I have done a lot of backpacking!
Finally, there is the beach! It is PRIVATE! We only saw one other couple the entire week. Because it is private, you can leave your beach chairs and umbrellas right on the beach and not have to haul them back and forth. We only went out to dinner once the entire week and went in to Panacea for that - it was great and not as far as we thought. Finally, Ann and Scott were very easy to work with and were very responsive. Highly recommend! The Smiths
