Perfect Weekend Getaway Spot
This place is magnificent for its value. It's within a very short walk to many of the best places in Eureka! It's simple, quaint, and cozy. 10/10 would recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay. If you're not into b&bs and don't want to have breakfast with a host this is a great option. It was perfectly located in downtown and had a separate living room for additional space to lounge. The place was clean and met my expectations.
Hidden Garden Take 2
We appreciated the location 3 years ago at our first stay. New entry decking was nice but hadn't been swept off for awhile and I couldn't find a broom. Flowers in the garden will really add some charm. Coffee and vino are nice in the morning and evening. Watch for the cardinals! The inside was clean and nearly the same, but really needs some TLC. The convenience store couple below are so nice and helpful. The staircase offers easy access to historic downtown as well as Main street access. I wouldn't recommend for those with physical Iimitations.
Thanks for the review. Spring was late this year... we are just now getting around to outdoor plants. As you pointed out, there is a new deck, with more updates on the way. See you next spring.
Great location for the price tucked into a secluded little spot. We enjoyed our stay.
Great little hideaway with the exception of the horrible bed :(
Great little hide away. Convenient to shopping/dining. Would stay here again if you replace the BED...It would have been perfect if it would have had a new bed.
Thanks for the review! The bed situation has been corrected.
Enjoyed our stay
We recently stayed at Hidden Garden Suite for 3 nights, and were pleased with all aspects of our stay. The location can't be beat. We were just a few minutes walk from everything. It was a 5-15 minute walk, at most, to every place we wanted to go, (with the exception of Ermilio's, which we highly recommend for dinner). We didn't get in our car the whole time except for nightly trips to Ermilio's. The property has a small, shaded private patio which is backed by a rock wall, keeping the temperature a good 5-10 degrees cooler than if you were out on the street. Though we were close to everything, including two nightclubs with live music, it was very quiet at night and we had no issues with noise during our stay. There is a small dorm-style refrigerator which was adequate for our wine and a few snacks. A coffee maker and filters were provided, but bring your own coffee. The suite is not "fancy Victorian" in decor, as is typical of many downtown accommodations; it was nicely decorated, and the furnishings were perfect for our needs. The bed (this is not a king size bed) was comfortable, and the bedding nice as well. For seating in the small living room area there is a love seat, which was fine for us. Downstairs is a small sundry store where we purchased a couple of items we forgot. Within a 5-15 minute walk we enjoyed drinks at the Basin Park Hotel, dancing at Chelsea's, breakfast at Mud Street Cafe, lunches at Aquarius Taqueria. If you go all the way to the Taqueria end of Main Street, treat yourself to a shaded, quiet, interesting walk back on Armstrong Street; its much quieter, more peaceful than trekking down Main Street, and you can look at interesting Eureka homes on the way. We will stay at Hidden Garden Suite again and would recommend it to our friends. The location really can't be beat. (The only 2 possible criticisms we have are (1) Glasses were provided, but no wine glasses. Champagne glasses, but no wine glasses. (2) The bedroom closet had a lot of stuff piled up on the floor. Neither of these issues were a problem for us, but in the spirit of full disclosure....)
