Unique Cabin, Sleeps 4, (7m x 6.5), private garden - ecoaccredited smallholding
Be close to nature with this base to explore beautiful North Pembrokeshire, or just relax with the views or stargaze by the fire.
Damson Cabin in the old orchard, with its own private space and decking area. Set on a smallholding south facing towards the beautiful Preseli mountains.
Offering comfort whilst being an alternative off grid holiday, the low impact accredited site is a mixture of short grass and wild areas, attracting lots of birds, bats, and other wildlife, to the delight of our visitors. This year a family of sparrows nested in the eaves of Damson’s porch, and a resident owl is regularly spotted.
Popular destination throughout the year, there’s lots of outdoor and indoor activities closeby, within easy reach of beaches, coastal paths, woodlands, or indoor music, theatre, art and crafts.
Enjoy an autumn/winter break settling in front of the log burner at night, also with no neighbours there is little light pollution so star gazing is recommended. Ideal for Christmas breaks and valentine celebrations. Early summer near the coast is milder, warmer weather often with sunny days, so a great chance to see the snowdrops, then daffodils and swathes of bluebells in our wooded path.

Lovely venue, back to basics
We spent 2 night in Damson cabin at North lodge, the cabin is lit by candle light only and the light from the log burner. The bed is ultra comfortable, but a hint is to move bed away from wall in winter!. There is a dining table, a couch and rocking chair and that's it in the cabin. The separate kitchen shed is lit by solar battery and has no running water. Cooking stove(single burner) and kitchen utensil were supplied at extra reasonable cost. The toilet hut is a self flush portable type and very clean. There is also a shower hut which was cramped but adequate. We loved our stay, the owners are lovely people and we we offered a hot drink on arrival. From car park to the cabin is about one hundred metres but a wheel barrow is available for carrying your luggage etc. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough, if you are looking for a back to basics, no tech holiday then you will love this. We will definitely be returning. 5* plus rating from us. Thanks for the hospitality.
What a fantastic break away.
I stayed in the log cabin over Christmas just me and my dog Delboy. I wanted some quiet time and that defiantly what we got. Jane and Martin come straight out to help with a wheelbarrow to help with unpacking and was offered a coffee. They were both very cheerful and happy to help. The cabin was gorgeous and the pics do not do it justice. Martin gave me some places to go visit that are not to far away from the area, so me and Del went to 3 different beaches and boating area, up a mountain and woke up early one morning for the sunrise. It is definitely for people that dont mind getting alittle bit dirty. The candle light by night was so peaceful but because of the time of year i was lighting candle about 330-430 but i did have two torches with me. The shower room does need alittle more space for clothing and accessories but saying that i still absolutely enjoyed myself and so did Delboy.
Thank you Jane and Martin

Not the Eco I'm familiar with!
I will point the good first as this is less time consuming! On arrival the owners were on hand immediately to greet us and help us unload the car INTO A MUDDY WHEEL BARROW to show us to our cabin 'Damson' on the way down to the cabin a drinking water point, the shower room, toilet and kitchen were all pointed out to us (all of which I will describe later) the cabin itself is as described - but I would say it is not in an orchard but more of a garden, it is very cosy at night with the candles (please take your own as not enough are supplied) and the fire lit (take more wood and kindling as not enough of that is supplied either), Jane kindly made us a coffee on arrival and as I stated they are very friendly people. Now the bad points, we paid for 4 nights but only stayed for 3 as enough is enough! The drinking water tap is low enough for the rats to drink from if desired, the shower room is a tin shed with nowhere to put your toiletries when showering or hang your towel and every day we showered with both slugs, snails and spiders along with mouse droppings on the windowsill, the window in the shower is a clear window and you can see out which means anyone walking past can look in too, the toilet is again a mish mash of wooden slats nailed together with plenty of gaps, it was not emptied for the full time we were there, which in my opinion is definitely not Eco, there was half a roll of toilet paper there on arrival and that is all we had! Now onto the kitchen (this is just a garden shed but my garden shed at home is cleaner) - this is right next to the toilet and made exactly the same, there is no running hot water anywhere except for the shower, the taps in the 'kitchen' were taped up, a cool box is provided but not clean enough to use and we were reluctant to leave any food in here as you don't know what is crawling over it in the night. We did not see any recycling points during our stay. We did walk around the site on our very first night and it looks nothing but a junk yard full of overgrown brambles, one other cabin is on site which we would not have let our dog sleep in, they also have a horsebox available to let but this again was filthy. We have stayed in many Eco friendly places over the years and enjoy the experience every time as this is what we look for, but on this occasion we were appauled at what we saw. A word of warning, there is no light in the shower and no lock on the cabin — my advise is to book somewhere else.
Beautiful relaxing and quaint
We had an awesome stay at this cabin... There was loads to do in the surrounding areas when we wanted to explore, but also more than happy to be relaxing in our very own orchard, followed by a nice cosy up in front of the fire.... Hoping to be able to visit this place again... Jane and Martin were absolutely awesome hosts
Thanks George and Amy for a great review, and to hear you enjoyed your stay so much, hope to see you again sometime
