Stunningly different from a typical rental villa, we're an award-winning, very spacious, private, modern villa with an architect conversion reusing some walls from of ancient bakeries and stables (the grounds still containing original stones as a protected example of Greece's heritage). In private grounds of about 1 acre, we have 5 bedrooms (and a 6th occasional bedroom for kids only if needed), 3 bathrooms. a large farmhouse style kitchen, a dining room, a huge and spacious living room with several seating areas opening onto the front terraces and gardens and rear poolside, plus 2 further living areas, with large private gardens, pool and BBQ and bar. Set in a quiet, rural, village we're in olive grove country, but just minutes from beaches, nightlife, and daytrips to the stunning sightseeing of Meteora, Delphi, Pelion and Parnassos. Spacious and relaxing living, large open terraces, original stone flooring, with enough space for large groups to live comfortably, and complete privacy. The pool is set among protected stones and walling dating back over 1600 years. The villa has extensive sliding doors opening to both gardens and pool, so it's light and airy, yet is designed to stay cool inside even through hot summer days. Village shops (bakery, butcher, mini market, garage, chemist) are a 4 minute walk away. An international vineyard is 10 minutes away - we can arrange visits, tasting tours and dinners. 5 minute drive away is Rahes, a favourite Greek beachside resort with busy beach side cafes, bars, taverna's, tennis, beach volley - a wonderful, typically Greek, friendly, buzzing, night life experience where children can walk and roam safely as they meet and play with new friends. We can arrange day sailing on a private yacht, or you can catch small ferry boats for 20 minute trips to nearby islands. Real Greece, in a stunning setting, a simple drive from airports, by the Aegean.

About Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper purchased this Villa in 2001
Why Michael Cooper chose Stylida
I fell in love with this unfinished house and, wanting something very spacious, with lots of light and colour, original, quiet but with nightlife and sea on my doorstep. I completed its modernisation over several years. From the front terraces I'm surrounded by garden trees - lemon, pine, fig plum and cherry. From the rear pool area I can lounge in privacy, among ancient history. I rent my villa out because I enjoy meeting guests from around the world, and over the last 12 years have made some very special friends.
What makes this Villa unique
There is no other property like this in Greece. It is genuinely unique in design and in atmosphere with protected ancient stones and rocks - some dating back 1,600 years - forming part of the exterior grounds. It's a perfect location for travelers wanting to experience real Greece in peace and quiet, with a sense of space, but with modern Greece's beachside bar's, cafe's and seaside taverna's just 5 minutes drive away in the popular Greek resort of Rahes. The best of old and new Greece, on your doorstep. Stunning archeology surrounds you, and one of Greece's best vineyards is 10 minutes away, for visiting and tasting. The UNESCO Heritage site of Meteora, and Delphi and Thermoplyae, together with the beautiful mountain region of Pelion with its stunning villages and beaches are fascinating day trips from the house. The UK Times named us (2010) one of the 20 best seaside villas in Greece.

Wonderful villa, great location for real Greece
Just Great! Beautiful house, great location, friendly people, great taverna's and nightlife. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Thanks for coming, we enjoyed your visit and enjoyed showing you around. You were great guests, thank you!
Charming greek house
Taking three generations away is always tricky as everyone expects something different from the experience. That is not the problem here! The house is huge, with plenty of space and seating areas, both inside and out, so all can have their own space. It is beautifully furnished and the fans kept us cool at night. The pool area was totally loved by my little ones who were in it every spare minute! There are lovely secure gardens around the building, and the kitchen is very well stocked. Nearby are beaches and lots of restaurants and bars to satisfy all tastes. The owner and his wife are onsite and were very helpful in suggesting trips and restaurants and even ordered our take-away for us!
If you want a relaxing holiday in a typical Greek village, this is the place for you. We can't thank Michael enough for letting us share his lovely home.
Hi S, thank you so much for your review. It was a real pleasure having you stay here, and to meet your family. Although I couldn't join you for the day, I understand the outing to the olive fields to see production, picking (and how to drive a tractor) was a highlight for the kids, and Delphi a treat for you! Real and original Greece in action! We hope to see you again another year! best wishes M
Peaceful, superb facilities and close to the beach
Staying here was like having your own private retreat with all facilities, beautifully furnished to a very high standard and with everything provided. Extensive landscaped areas around the pool and the front terrace provided a range of spaces suitable for all types of entertainment, both for families and groups of adults. In particular the opportunity to host large dinner parties on the front terrace, with ambient lighting and easy access to the kitchen and lounge areas making a beautiful space for eating out-doors each evening. The house and surrounding areas have a strong sense of history. This is evident in architectural featrures retained in the restoration of the building and the interesting structures within walking distance. It is within easy access to the beaches, local restaurants, shops and bars. The road from Athens is world class and an easy drive. This huge, spacious villa is easily accessible to tourist attractions such as Meteora and a short drive to the nearest main town of Lamia. We thoroughly recommend the villa and appreciate the welcoming and uncompromising assistance from the hosts Michael and Dimitra.
Thank you, Australia! It was great having you here and we took a lot of pleasure from your enjoyment of the villa and the area. See you again next year, and thanks for the outback hats, they arrived OK !
A complete holiday in every way
The villa was a spacious amazing villa, steeped in history, in a perfect location. The villa is in a village near beaches and the sea,The space is great, perfect for large families, very relaxing and safe for kids. There are plenty of restaurants and tavernas in the area or you could eat relaxing on one of the garden terraces or by the pool. Loved it.
Thank You, H. We're so pleased you enjoyed it - for your 3rd time! It certainly is a chill out place, perfect for a real Greece experience, where the Greeks themselves like to go, with some great sightseeing that few tourists get the chance to experience. See you again another year!
This is the best villa we have stayed in, in Greece by far. Its spacious, homely, quiet, safe for kids and you get to experience the real Greece. The thing we loved about it is the variety. Some nights we stayed in and chilled by the pool, other nights we out in the local village or sea side town for a meal out. We really made the holiday our own.
The villa is just gorgeous with everything you need and would expect for such a holiday. The hosts were great and nothing was any trouble for them.
Thank You! It was great having you, and a pleasure to show you real Greece. We fondly remember sitting beach side with you at night in your favourite bar, and visiting the vineyard for some great wine tasting.
Best holiday ever!
We were really impressed with the villa which was spacious, airy and very private. The pool area was fabulous and we spent most of our time soaking up the sun, eating and drinking around that area. In the evenings you can travel out to surrounding restaurants with stunning views of the sea. The hosts were amazing and we were able to sample greek life at it's best with amazing greek food and wine and lots of dancing.
I would recommend this to anyone.
Your feet must still be aching from the dancing! Great meeting you and enjoy the Greek cooking back home. The musician we got for you will be sending a DVD of the evening with you.
Stunning and unique property, built on ruins of ancient stables and bakery, in authentic real Greece location - a seaside rural village, set in olive grove country, surrounded by antiquity. 5 minutes drive from Rahes, a very popular local beachside greek resort full of taverna's, cafe's, and bars. Selection of beaches within 2 - 15 kilometres. Meteora (stunning monasteries) Delphi (ancient architecture) and Thermopylae, the Pelion area with its mountain villages, all nearby for day trips. We do sailing on a private yacht, wine tours and dinners at a local vineyard famous for it's international wines, horse riding, beach tennis and beach volleyball, table tennis, tennis, all within 5-10 minutes.
