Cherry Tree Holiday Cottage is located in a small village called Barkestone Le Vale in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir, located between Nottingham and the smaller market towns of Melton Mowbray, Grantham and Newark. There is a lovely pub in the village serving food. The cottage itself boasts boutique style bedrooms, beamed ceilings and bright lounge with wide screen digital TV, all set within beautiful countryside views with a fenced garden and patio/barbeque area. WIFI is unlimited. It has been completely renovated and modernised in a contemporary style and is ideal for families or couples for a romantic relaxing break. The area is well known for its great country dining pubs and excellent countryside and is a regular location for walkers and cyclists. We now have a pub in the village!! We will welcome you to our cottage with a small hamper of complimentary wine, bread and milk, to make your first night a little easier. All linen, electric and things like dishwasher tablets are included. We ourselves enjoy similar holidays with and without our children. This shows in the added facilities we provide: we've toys for all ages, board games and many baby/toddler items (eg bottle warmer, sterillizer). We can also advise on local babysitters. There are loads of things to do in the area, city, country or a delightful market town. It is a good place to meet your friends or family only 20 minutes from the A1 or M1 and 10 minutes from the A52. Fast train to London means you can come up for the weekend and head back on Monday morning!

It was not quite as expected
The house was very old and lots of things didn’t work. The heating was constantly on which we could turn off (it was a very hot week in July), there were spiders webs everywhere and it needed a good clean. The garden was unkempt and uninviting! It was fine as a base to visit family as we didn’t spend long in the house but I would have been very disappointed to spend my holidays there.
Sweet quiet cottage with a nice layout and a very pretty garden. Good parking outside . Great as pet friendly
Sadly we were promised a welcome basket that wasn't there so had to drive to next village the evening of arrival as hadn't taken wine or bread - Not a problem if it had not been promised but it had.The cottage was a little more shabby than chic . The paint was peeling off the base of the bath, cracked bathroom sink , missing a few light switches, no storage or reading lights in the smaller double bedroom, bed end missing off the bed in that room too , very short on drinking / wine glasses and had a small random selection of cutlery.
That said we did have a lovely time and felt really relaxed as the cottage is in a nice quiet location and has a lovely vibe . Strongly feel that for nearly £200 a night it is punching a little above its weight. Feel that if the issues mentioned above were addressed it would be great.
Charming Charming Charming!
My family and I stayed here at this beautiful property last week, and couldn't have been happier. It is a cozy but spacious home in a charming village, a short drive from Nottingham and Leicester. Be sure to drive by the nearby Belvoir Castle. It was very clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again. Would even be happy to stay at Cherry Tree full-time!
Thank you so much! We love the cottage, having lived there I can recommend it. I am glad you enjoyed your time and found it so comfortable. Come back soon!
