Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Sarah

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home, it was a delight. Another thank you for the Christmas decorations and of course for the carrot cake which we all enjoyed. The weather did it’s best to dampen our stay but it did not stop some of our party taking advantage of the hot tub on Boxing Day.

We all had a marvellous time and will not hesitate to recommend you to our friends and colleagues.

An amazing stay in a truly beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

We have recently spent a long weekend staying at Palm Beach celebrating my Mums 80th Birthday and what a beautiful house this is. There were 11 of us in the group from 3 generations, however the house is so big it would never feel crowded. Sarah, the owner, answered all questions leading up to our stay very quickly and was very informative. The cake left for my Mum was such a lovely touch.

Being lucky enough to have stayed during the current hot spell we were able to make good use of the garden, hot tub and the BBQ however, with the feature fire and underfloor heating a winter break would be equally as wonderful. All the bedrooms are beautifully furnished as is the lounge area and the very well equipped kitchen is absolutely stunning too. The Cinema room proved very popular for the world cup games and is far bigger than the photos show. Overall this is a stunning house in a lovely area with incredible views and i'm already looking forward to visiting again one day.

Perfect setting for family celebration

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful weekend at Palm Beach House celebrating my mothers 90th birthday. The house is beautiful, very spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable. Although we were twelve adults in number there was plenty of room for everyone, (though I think I would ask for the three single beds to be set up in a different room if possible as the usual twin/triple room was a bit small and airless for three 6 foot adults!).We were blessed with hot, sunny weather so were able to keep all the glass doors open and take full advantage of the amazing sea views, hot tub and even a swim in the sea. Thank you for a very special weekend in your beautiful home Sarah and also for the delicious cake!

Amazing property with fantastic views.

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with family for the half term week, and we all loved the property. The views across the grass to the beach and sea are fantastic and the property itself is beautifully designed and immaculately presented. Sarah helped us with a few queries during our stay and always offered a friendly and helpful response within minutes of emailing - very impressive. We were shown around the property on arrival, and given good instructions about how to operate everything, and also enjoyed the delicious welcome birthday cake Sarah had left for us. The children loved playing on the large lawn, and enjoyed a couple of bedtime movies in the cinema room (projector with sky movies etc included - great for all). We were a little nervous about damaging anything, particularly with young children in such a well-kept property, but we needn’t have worried. So thank you Sarah and team - all in all a fantastic experience. We will be looking at this and your other properties again in future years.

A wonderful place to celebrate a special occassion

  • 5 of 5

Went to Palm Beach House with a group of friends to celebrate a significant birthday. The house is stunning and complete with all the facilities and niceties you could wish for. (A cake on arrival was, well...The icing on the cake!!). The views and coastal walks are lovely, albeit we only ventured out once.........why would you when you are staying in a place like this?

Thank you Sarah, Anna and Palm Beach House for a wonderful little holiday.

High spec house, great views, great location.

  • 5 of 5

The house was as lovely as it looked in the pictures.

The living area situated on the first floor made the best of the views and we loved sitting and eating out on the balcony.

We were lucky enough to have great weather which made the stay even better but we all agreed it would still be a fab place to hire had the weather not been as kind due to the great fire in the living room, cinema room, hot tub and the balcony being under cover.

The property was spotless and had everything you needed, all bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully designed and laid out.

Communication with the owner was great and any queries were answered speedily.

We were a group of adults that just enjoyed a relaxing weekend together, we didn't venture too far. Some of our party enjoyed the short trip to Arundel castle. Both days we enjoyed the 25 minute walk along the beach to the Bluebird cafe.

We have all recommended it to friends and family and are looking at booking again for next year.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

The mixed pebble and sand beach is popular for a wide variety of watersports including kitesurfing.

It is thought that the place name Goring may mean either 'Gāra's people', or 'people of the wedge-shaped strip of land'. Usually known as "Goring", the "by-Sea" suffix has been added to differentiate it from the village of Goring-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.

Goring is served by Goring-by-Sea railway station and is thought to have been the inspiration for the name of the character Lord Goring in Oscar Wilde's play An Ideal Husband. Oscar Wilde stayed in a cottage in Goring in the summer of 1893 and in "De Profundis" mentions Goring as a place where he stayed with Lord Alfred Douglas alongside with Torquay, London and Florence.
