A modern apartment in a traditional corral in the centre of Seville. One bedroom, a large living/dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, very high ceilings, three balconies, a skylight, a floor to ceiling brick wall...

The apartment is situated in the beautiful Alameda de Hércules, at the north of the historical quarter. This is a lively rectangular-shaped piazza lined with poplar trees on the sides and marvellous columns at the ends. The Alameda has lots of bars and restaurants and is particularly animated at weekends. Here you will also find children´s playgrounds, a pharmacy, a Medical Centre, a supermarket and various food shops, bike rental stations, a multi-screen cinema for all the family, a church at the end.... It is difficult to think of something that you could not find in the Alameda!

The apartment has a spacious living/dining room with a balcony and views to the Alameda de Hércules, a bedroom with two balconies - one to the tree lined square and another to the Juan de Oviedo street - an open plan kitchen and a bathroom with shower. It is very sunny, with lots of light flooding in from the three balconies, and has very high ceilings, exposed timber rafters and a skylight in the dining room, keeping the apartment bright and cheerful throughout the day. It is decorated with contemporary furniture and ethnic objects, and in the bedroom a floor to ceiling brick wall adds character and a modern touch.

Why Elena chose Macarena

You will be in the centre of town, but not in a touristy area. The Alameda is a beautiful square where you will be able to buy everything you need for your holiday. It is a lovely, cheerful neighbourhood, full of local people.

This property is an interesting modern apartment in a quaint building. It is very central, in one of the most animated areas of Seville. I particularly like its location and the brightness provided by the skylight and the three exterior balconies. And the bedroom which is so characterful and romantic!

Beautiful apartment with a few issues

First of all I have to say Elena was the best host. Though she doesn’t live near she was available online almost immediately. The apartment is lovely and has most amenities one needs. Eli, who does the laundry, answers questions, and cleans the apartment is a delight. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Seville. Unfortunately the apartment has some issues that for me make a long stay such as ours problematic. See another review “sleepless in Seville”. The apartment is situated directly above a bar that is open seven day a week. The noise is fairly non stop, escalating Thursday and through the weekend making sleeping quite impossible until after closing, which is not before 2 am. The quietest day was Tuesday or Wednesday but even then you can’t count on any quiet. This is why this apartment is good for a few days but not for a long stay such as ours. Also there is very little hot water so beware when you shower. Best to lather up with the shower off and turn it on only to rinse. Washing my hair was an issue. Lastly there is no coffee maker in the apartment and when we told Elena it was listed in the amenities on the website, she did not offer to get us one. We bought a coffee maker ourselves and took it with us. She has since taken that amenity off the site. I don’t like having to give a less than perfect review but feel it’s important that people are honest about a situation so others know what to expect. Again I think for a short stay of 3-4 days, it’s great. The apartment is so beautiful. But longer than that if you are there on a weekend, prepare to stay awake.

Great place to explore Sevilla

The apartment is at a great location - with lots of restaurants around. Walking to the main cathedral area is 15 mins. We were there for 4 days and there was no need to find out how to take the bus. The department itself is well prepared, and everything works. The decor is very pleasing. Equally importantly, Elena, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. This is one of the best VRBO experiences we have had.

Perfect location stylish accommodation

We loved the apartment it was very tastefully decorated clean and comfortable .The location was great lots of restaurants and activity all around and easy access to all the sights .Elena was very helpful with advice on things to do and see and always quick to respond to enquiry.We were sorry to leave and would be happy to return to the apartment when next we visit Seville

Sleepless in Sevilla

When we walked into the apartment on Monday we were thrilled. It was beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious. We noticed that the sound proof doors worked well to shield the Monday bar noise ( the bar is located directly below the apartment). However by the time Friday night rolled around the bar noise escalated to the point of not being able to sleep until the bar closed around 2 or 3 am. Since we stayed at this property for one month we were really able to see the pattern of escalating noise level starting really around Thursday night until Sunday night. We loved the fact that once a week the apartment was cleaned for us free of charge and that Eli was available to do laundry for us at 10 euro a load. She even ironed our underwear! The only other problem that I had with the apartment was the lack of hot water in the shower. If I washed my hair my husband would have to wait to take his shower because the hot water ran out. All in all I would recommend this apartment for a short stay during the week but it really didn't work out as well as I had hoped for a lengthy stay.

Beautiful apartment, exceeded our expectations!

We LOVED this apartment in Seville - It was even nicer than we expected from the pictures! The entire apartment was clean and seemed newly renovated and had everything we needed to enjoy Seville. Yes, there is a cafe with outdoor seating below the apartment, but the windows really were high quality and sound proof, so we were totally fine. The location is about a 15 minute walk to all of the touristy things in Seville, but we prefer not staying in the touristy area, so we loved the location. The street that the apartment is on has a big open plaza with a lot of restaurants and cafes so it felt beautiful and lively. Elena was wonderful with answering all of our questions and providing us with anything we needed, I highly recommend this apartment! Thank you Elena!

Car: not necessary

There is so much to see in Seville! The Giralda, The Cathedral and The Reales Alcázares are all a MUST. You will also enjoy walking through the streets of Barrio Santa Cruz, along the river Guadalquivir and calle Betis, through the beautiful Maria Luisa Park and the famous Plaza de España next to it.... If you stay for a few days, I would recommend that you buy fresh produce in the oldest market in Seville - which is only 5 minutes away from our apartment - and that you visit Casa Pilatos and the Museum of Fine Arts - where you will admire the work of Seville´s greatest painters, like Velazquez or Murillo. Also worth visiting: Plaza del Salvador with its majestic church, Plaza de la Encarnación with its modern architecture, and do not forget to include in your list a good Flamenco show!
