Property type house

About the property

Detached 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house, walking distance centre. Private parking.

The Yacht House is newly renovated and is now available for the first time ( October 2016) . It has fabulous sea views and, most importantly, private on site parking . It is a pleasant 5 minute walk to the lovely harbour, restaurants and delightful shops of Padstow. Another 5 minute walk takes you to a stunning large sandy beach and the coastal path. The Camel Trail and bike hire are also based on the harbour front. The house has 4 Bedrooms and 4 bathrooms ( 3 ensuite), a spacious ,well equipped kitchen ( separate utility room) and a dining conservatory, 2 large sitting rooms, one of which has a wood burning stove for chillier evenings ( logs provided). This room also has French doors giving access to the front terrace. The property is centrally heated. There are gardens back and front. A granite paved terrace at the front of the house allows alfresco dining with a view over the water and a patio at the rear has table and chairs and a barbecue.

On the ground floor the 2 living rooms each have a TV and DVD player. There is a large library of books and DVD's as well as games for all ages.Local maps and guide books are provided as well as a comprehensive set of brochures of ' things to do'. Also on the ground floor are 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and an ensuite wet room ( WC,shower, washbasin), and the other, adjacent to the family bathroom ( WC, Bath with shower over and wash basin), has 2 single beds and French doors to the rear garden.

Upstairs there are a further 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom ( Bath with shower over, WC ,wash basin). The front bedroom has a king size bed and a small balcony with views over the water. The rear bedroom is very spacious with a vaulted ceiling, it's own seating area and zip link bed which can be superking or 2 singles.( see layout drawings in the photo gallery).

We provide top quality cotton bed linens, feather duvets and pillows ( non allergenic available on request), as well as thick, cotton bath sheets and towels.

We were very excited when we found this house on the market because of the difficulty of finding somewhere close to the centre of Padstow but in a quiet location with sea views and private parking on site ( an absolute must in high season). The house surprised us with its internal spaciousness which allowed us to refurbish and decorate in a light, nautical style. We love the elevated position of The Yacht Housegiving fabulous views over the water. We installed large French doors on to the front terrace from one of the 2 sitting rooms to allow an outside/inside feel for the summer months and to bring in more light and a more expansive panorama.

The Yacht House offers the special benefit of being so close ( a very pleasant 5 minute walk) to the lovely village centre of Padstow.Hence you can enjoy the wonderful restaurants, including Rick Stein's 4 establishments ( he also has a great shop selling his wares), the fabulous Michelin starred Paul Ainsworth at 'Number 6', and great fish and chips at 'Chip Ahoy' to name but a few. That extra 'glass of wine' needn't be a worry either as no car is necessary to get you home after your evening out.

Padstow has some super' special ' events. At the beginning of December there is the Christmas Festival over 4 days with delightful market stalls, cooking demonstrations by famous chefs and celebratory fireworks in the harbour ( On 'May Day' the Padstow 'Obby' Oss is worshipped with a magnificent May pole, processions , live music and other entertaining activities (

Anything you want to do in Cornwall- cycle hire ( and the great cycling along the Camel Trail from Padstow Harbour), surfing, fishing, beach life, shopping, eating good food etc can all be experienced 5 minutes walk from your own front door.

About Andrea Sanger

I love travel and have spent most of my adult life in employment that has taken me all over the world. From my travel experiences I found that I absolutely love architecture and buildings and especially renovating houses myself, creating something very special . The Yacht House is my latest creation and I am very happy with its transformation into a super holiday 'home from home' with a nautical and calm bright air about it. I love being there and looking over the water with a glass of wine and friends to share the experience with. I look forward to welcoming all of you who would love to holiday in Cornwall and especially Padstow . I am sure you would love the house, the spaciousness and clean lines, the art work and most especially the lovely sea views and the close proximity to Padstow village and harbour whilst being in a tranquil spot.

Lovely house, great location, first class service

  • 5 of 5

We had a great half term week in the Yacht House. Despite the mixed February weather, the house was cosy and warm. Lots of space, well equipped and tastefully decorated, the Yacht House has four good sized bedrooms and two large sitting rooms. The kitchen and conservatory work well together too. The house also benefits from lovely views of the Camel estuary. Another plus is the parking, as I would imagine this is a real pain in high season (it was fairly busy in February). From the house it’s a short 5 min walk into Padstow, so everything is on your doorstep. Padstow itself is a vibrant little seaside town, with a lots to do. The final thing to note is that Andrea has been pleasure to deal with. The Yacht House is highly recommended. I will certainly do so to friends thinking of Cornwall.

Superb time in this gorgeous house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week here. The house was prepared to an excellent standard & was spotless and welcoming with some lovely touches by Andrea & her team. Particular highlights for us were to have the 3 double ensuite bedrooms to give our family privacy whilst holidaying together - perfect! Also the fab views over the Estuary, the large attractive conservatory for mealtimes and the wood burning stove in the lounge was a delight. We like to cook so it was really helpful to find all the equipment that we needed too.

Overall we totally sing the praises of our holiday here & will definitely return again! Thank you!

Great Property, Very Well Located

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of six, staying at the Yacht House for a week. The property itself is very spacious and thoughtfully furnished. Enough place there for family to be together or do their own thing with two living rooms. It is a stones throw from the Padstow village, which is overflowing with great food, and lovely walks. A special mention goes to Cherry Tree Coffee House, where the lovely Emma undertook to research and bake us an eggless Bakewell Tart (her first attempt) in the week she was due her first baby. Our favourite walk was a long hour+ walk to Hawker's Cove. Will be sure to go back.

Paradise in Padstow

  • 5 of 5

Having spent many happy holidays in the Padstow area whilst our children were growing up my wife and I wanted a special place to stay as we returned for the first time with both children and grandchildren.

We were not disappointed by our choice of The Yacht House, it is stunning and it was with heavy hearts that we left the property for our return from a lovely break.

From the first contact with Andrea who took the trouble to respond to my request immediately even though she herself was abroad at the time we could not have been happier with our choice for our holiday home.

The Yacht House is beautifully appointed with four large bedrooms, three of which are en suite and one of which has the most amazing views down the Camel estuary at to the Atlantic beyond, to be able to open the double doors of this room each morning and smell the sea air was a joy in itself.

We were a party of six adults and two children.Andrea the owner has left nothing to chance with a travel cot, high chair and removable safety gates (top and bottom) being provided for the children.

There are two beautifully equipped living rooms ( we declared one adults only, bliss!!) both have stunning views down the Camel estuary and a telescope is provided to enhance those views. To be able to sit down late at night with the lights out and sit with a glass of wine to watch the Padstow/Rock ferry and other vessels in the estuary was total relaxation at the end of the day.

The kitchen and dining area of The Yacht House are spacious and encouraged us to sit together during the evenings playing board games and relaxing

The feeling of light and space in the property ensured that we all had plenty of room to enjoy each others company but still have room to be alone should space be required.

The Yacht House is a five minute walk along the seafront to Padstow town centre and a very relaxing stroll from the many pubs and restaurants on offer.

There was ample parking for three large family cars at the rear of the property, a real bonus in Padstow.

Neither my family or I can find a single negative thing to say about this beautiful piece of paradise, I would return again at the drop of a hat knowing as I do that quality accommodation is provided

Fantastic house in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

A truly stunning house only 5/10 minute walk to Padstow. Stunning views over the harbour. Very peaceful. Beautiful artwork everywhere. Andrea was extremely helpful. We were two couples with two kids each and it was ideal. Highly recommended

Only small thing to make people aware is the parking at the back is a small tight road so if you have two big cars you may struggle to park both but there is a road out the front with free parking.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the location of The Yacht House and its comforts. I'm so sorry you had difficulty parking your cars. We have always thought the space was adequate and as can be seen from previous reviews other guests managed to park 3 cars on our private parking space without difficulty .
