We were very excited when we found this house on the market because of the difficulty of finding somewhere close to the centre of Padstow but in a quiet location with sea views and private parking on site ( an absolute must in high season). The house surprised us with its internal spaciousness which allowed us to refurbish and decorate in a light, nautical style. We love the elevated position of The Yacht Housegiving fabulous views over the water. We installed large French doors on to the front terrace from one of the 2 sitting rooms to allow an outside/inside feel for the summer months and to bring in more light and a more expansive panorama.
The Yacht House offers the special benefit of being so close ( a very pleasant 5 minute walk) to the lovely village centre of Padstow.Hence you can enjoy the wonderful restaurants, including Rick Stein's 4 establishments ( he also has a great shop selling his wares), the fabulous Michelin starred Paul Ainsworth at 'Number 6', and great fish and chips at 'Chip Ahoy' to name but a few. That extra 'glass of wine' needn't be a worry either as no car is necessary to get you home after your evening out.
Padstow has some super' special ' events. At the beginning of December there is the Christmas Festival over 4 days with delightful market stalls, cooking demonstrations by famous chefs and celebratory fireworks in the harbour ( On 'May Day' the Padstow 'Obby' Oss is worshipped with a magnificent May pole, processions , live music and other entertaining activities ( padstowobbyoss@
