Woodpecker Cottage is a superb cottage providing really classy accommodation. Its beamed ceilings, stone flagged floors, glowing log burning stove, luxurious lounge and quality dining kitchen combine with beautiful bedrooms and fantastic en-suite bathrooms. Crisp linen and fluffy towels top the lot. Part of the coach house to Eccles House, a lovely Georgian Mansion, it's at the end of a quiet country lane with super views across the valley and a cauldron of Peak District hills as a magnificent backdrop.

Cottage facilities.

A superb stone flagged lounge with glowing log burning stove, luxurious leather suite, flat screen T.V, Freeview, CD/Ipod player, Wi-Fi and French doors to the grounds. A quality dining kitchen with solid pine table and chairs, bespoke kitchen units, Belfast sink, hob, oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A beautiful beamed double bedroom with Juliette balcony and en-suite bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C. A second double bedroom of the same high quality with en-suite shower room with shower and W.C. A downstairs cloakroom with W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Under floor and central heating, power and an initial supply of logs for the stove are included. A cot, high chair and Zbed can be requested. There is a patio with furniture and barbeque and use of the coach house grounds. Ample parking is available. Pets are allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Week bookings are normally Friday to Friday.

Short breaks are available November to March excluding Xmas and New Year (and during the rest of the year if the booking is within 14 days of the holiday). It is the same total price for three or four nights.

Looks good and is good!

Great cottage in an excellent location for doing as much or as little as you wish in Derbyshire. The location enables easy access to all venues in Derbyshire, Dovedale, Bakewell, Matlock etc. Two good pubs within walking distance, Paper Mill and the Old Hall, both dog friendly. The cottage is well equipped and we loved the welcoming free range eggs and lemon drizzle cake on arrival. A very enjoyable week in Woodpecker cottage.

Get up early and spot the Woodpeckers and other birds that live in the House's extensive grounds and woodland. Have breakfast on the patio before exploring the numerous local walks. A wander down into the valley will get you to the bustling village with its local shops and great pubs. This is an absolutely brilliant holiday location within easy reach of Derbyshire's myriad of visitor attractions.

For exciting days out how about a trip to Castleton's Blue John caverns, Peveril's 'storm the battlements' castle, Bakewell's famous Monday market, Monsal's magnificent waterfalls, Gt Hucklow's gliders, Calver's breathtaking views and even Chatsworth House for a very special treat. Wherever you go get back in time for a drink in the Old Hall Inn!
