Super spacious house in relaxed surroundings
Great house. Really nice, friendly owner. A great long weekend with the kids. High lights were saint-valery-sur-somme, etrtat and honfleur. Recommend this house as a great place to spend time with family or friends. Have fun!
Great house for a great stay in Normandy
In August 2015 we stayed in this lovely house near Brachy. The house is very well maintained, was very clean, and more than large enough to accommodate 6 adults. Contact with the owner was extremely easy – she speaks English very well – and she was very responsive to our requests. We very much liked the ability to sit outside where we had both breakfast and dinner, and we also made use of the barbecue. The couple of chicken that wandered around added to the lively atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped. Note that 2 of the beds are a bit short (1.90m, as indicated in the description) and that the internet connection is sometimes a bit spotty, and slow. Also note that there are no shops in this small little village, so getting some food or bread will require a trip of about 5km to a nearby village.
While staying here for a week, we visited several of the nice cities in the surrounding. Out highlights were certainly Rouen, with beautiful houses and a stunning cathedral (about 1 hr by car) and the house and gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny (a bit over 1.5 hrs one way, but very impressive in early |August). It takes about 25 min to reach the beach in St Valery en Caux where there are a couple of great fish restaurants at very affordable prices.
When we would come back to this area we would certainly stay here again.
Charm and comfort
We stayed for 3 1/2 weeks in this beautiful cottage. It is located in the grounds of the owners Manor House. The cottage overlooked expansive, well kept lawns with pretty flower beds and mature trees. The cottage was spacious and very tastefully appointed. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the open fire in the comfortable lounge room. We were looked after very well by the housekeeper and the owner. It was a delightful place to stay.
The house is located in a farming village. The property if surrounded by fields. There are no nuisances. Plenty of leisure activities and tourist attractions nearby: kitesurfing and wind surfing in Saint Aubin sur Mer, sailing and diving in St Valery en Caux, hiking, horse riding for children and adults etc. A leaflet listing the tourist sites, hiking trails and activities nearby is provided.
