I took my son and Daughter away for a 2 week break to the area and stayed in this lovely well equipped Gite, which had everything that we needed for our stay without having to pack the kitchen sink.
The Gite is in the perfect location and close to a lot of activities in the area, the River is a stone’s throw away which is great as whiles we were there the temps reached the 40's and the swimming was such a nice way to relax for the afternoon.
We will be back next year for sure as was perfect.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re so pleased you had such a good time and everything was good for you. It will be a pleasure and looking forward to have you stay next year! Regards,
Comfortable gite in lovely area
Spent a week here in August 2018. Easy to get to, comfortable and in a lovely part of the world - a good base from which to explore the area. on the edge of Vitrac (Port) and only a short walk from the Dordogne.
We had a very pleasnt twelve days at Vitrac. The gite had all we needed including lots of UK tv from a server enabled service. Ideal in the evenings as the wrather eas not 9f the kindest while we were there. Comfortable bed and pleanty of rolm. Lots to do near by as well so a good location from that point of view. The 9nly downside is that the property is very close to a busy road and traffic flows throughout the night, so not good if you are light sleeper!
great location, very comfortable, appreciated the wine, bread and walnuts . friendly host..
Very clean and well equipped, exactly as description. Appreciated our large terrace area and BBQ which we used every evening. Was very grateful for the fans especially in 37C only dropping to 26C at night! Bed was large and very comfortable. Good to have a washing machine and line to hang out clothes. Iron was excellent. There was nothing that caused us to complain about!
Thank you so much for your positive review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your gite and the beautiful Dordogne region!
Hope to see you both again...
Fantastic location, wonderful owners
My wife and I spent two great weeks in Gite Primevere, our first visit to the Dordogne Valley. We couldn't have picked a better location with a short drive to places like Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Castlenaud, and Domme all less than 15 minutes away. Within 5 minutes walk are a couple of very good restaurants and a canoe hire place a further 5 minutes walk across the Dordogne. Canoe hire is a marvelous way to view the region from the river and is not at all difficult or arduous. My wife and I are in our early seventies and were quite comfortable with the 16 km (10 ml) trip we opted for. Incidently, the owners have negotiated a 10% discount for the canoe hire.
The gite was totally clean on our arrival and there was a very welcome pack of bread, wine and some local nuts. Primevere is a gite and not luxury accommodation. It was perfectly adequate and totally to our taste.
The owners were preparing a further gite for a long term rental and we got to know them. They were so friendly and helpful it made our two week stay just a little bit short.
Would I recommend Primevere to friends? I most certainly would.
Lovely accommodation in a Great Location
We really enjoyed our stay and fortunately were able to extended because a week in this stunning region was not enough. The location is perfect for exploring the best known attractions and there are a number of gorgeous medieval villages in comfortable driving distance. We especially liked Monpanzier and Beynac. We had the 2 bedroom gite on the ground floor. It was roomy, clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. It has a lovely terrace off the dining area and main bedroom for enjoying the sunshine and outdoor dining. The bed was very comfortable and there is a plentiful supply of hot water in the shower. The easy to use washing machine was much appreciated. Jackie, our host was friendly and helpful. We had a great meal at the Hotel Trielle at Vitrac Port, in walking distance from the gite. Although you can hear the traffic passing as a previous reviewer mentioned, we did not find this a problem at all. It is not intrusive. We recommend taking the canoe trip from Vitrac port to just past Beynac...it's a fabulously tranquil way to spend 3 hours.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and that both the beautiful region and the gite was to your liking. You were lovely guests and it was a pleasure meeting you both and would be very welcome should you ever return to the region.
