Great log cabin tucked away in beautiful hills!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home in a great location. It is really big and there is plenty of room for a couple of families or one large one. I really did not want to leave. If there was anything to say negative.. was that the lighting can be a little tricky. Someone spent a great deal of money for a sophisticated lighting in this house. But, beyond that... I can't say enough about the location, the house and the views. Not to mention the night sky full of stars!

Perfect location, Beautiful Views, Nice cabin

  • 5 of 5

The house was a perfect location for access to Zion, Bryce and Kanab. The house was clean and in good order. The open kitchen, great room was great for our large group. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of pots/pans etc. if you wanted to cook there. The bunk room downstairs was great for the kids. There is a fire pit outside which was nice, although seating situation was just ok. The location of this house is a huge plus. This is one of the prettiest places in the world and we can't wait to go back. The entrance into zion from this side of the park is beautiful and if you can work it into your schedule do the drive as the sun is going down because we saw lots of mountain goats at that time. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the cabin with a warm fire roasting - a great touch after a few hour drive! This cabin was the perfect size for our group of 4 couples. It easily could have accommodated additional people if they wanted to sleep in bunk beds or air mattresses. The bed in the master bedroom bed was seriously one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The open kitchen was a great size to cook meals and socialize with our group. We intended to use the firepit out back, but we got back from a day of hiking and were too spent to stay up much past dinner. If we were in this area again, we would definitely consider staying here.

Pretty views but home has issues

  • 3 of 5

We were very excited about this house as the pictures, reviews and space looked promising. However, the house presented some challenges.

The positives: roughly equal distance from Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks; mountain views are lovely; house is secluded so lots of privacy. My children enjoyed the fire pit out back and it has wonderful night sky views! The beds were comfortable and linens were fresh and well stocked. The owners/managers were responsive.

The disappointments: mouse droppings greeted us on the window sill and counters as we put our groceries into the kitchen and they were found elsewhere on the first floor. (Somewhat understandable as this is infrequently used home. We cleaned it up then found fresh droppings the next morning, so I had some concerns about food safety while I cooked. This would be fine for some folks, a "deal kill" for others.) The owners offered to come set traps but we decided it wasn't worth it for the time we were there, so we just cleaned the counters before every meal preparation.

The basement also significantly flooded twice while we were there. I feel for the owners as the water seems to be coming up from the foundation, so it isn't an easy fix. However, it is clear that this is an ongoing problem. Unfortunately, the water issues have left the basement smelling musty and we weren't able to use the downstairs family room at all. We had been looking forward to watching the Olympics together at night after hiking all day, but there was no other spot for 8 of us to watch. Four of my six children were sleeping in the basement bedrooms so we needed that space to work well and it didn't.

Finally, we paid a little more than I wanted with the online promise that the house was in great condition and looked so comfortable. The LR couch has lost its structural support so the seat collapses down entirely, making it uncomfortable to sit on. A broken wicker bench is the first thing you see when you drive up to the house. I don't mean to sound petty, but when you are paying good money for your vacation spot, these issues leave you really disappointed. Overall, the home did not have the feeling of being well maintained.

Owner's Response: Flooding is not a common issue. I do apologize our desert area received significant rainfall during your stay, many homes and businesses were damaged to the point of crisis. I was informed that you were able to towel up the seepage and that the issue needed no further attention. No more mice, I apologize again the weather may have brought in a couple unwanted guests. The couch was a simple repair and works wonderful. My husband insists that wicker bench is the most comfortable seat on the porch, maybe I'll move it around back so it's wear doesn't distract. Had I been made aware of your disappointment, I would have compensated you fairly. We want every guest to depart feeling completely satisfied. We highly value communication from our guests as the home speaks through you.

Great Stay!

  • 4 of 5

Sugar Knoll Meadows turned out to be the perfect place for our week in Utah. The location allowed us to see the major national parks in the area with reasonable drive times. Our family of 10 felt comfortable with lots of room for everyone to have their personal space. A well equipped kitchen allowed us to eat most meals at home which we appreciated. We can highly recommend a stay here.
