3/5 Okay

Good Location but lacking in appeal
Let’s say the pictures don’t tell the story. This house was in a good location close to stores, markets and tube. It had enough room for the 6 of us. There seemed a lot of clutter in the house... lots of shelf space seemed to be occupied with decor stuff. The glasses and mugs were quite dirty and needed to be washed before use. The rooms get enough daylight but hardly any wind so if it’s a warm day the upper floor rooms get very hot and the one lone ceiling fan is almost useless and there is no central air. If you stay 7 days or less the linens will not be changed without charge. Overall, an OK experience.

Beautiful home but some safety issues
need a better introduction to how things work such as washer & dryer. As an American the washer & dryer are very different. Didn’t know where the window keys/screwdrivers were hidden. 2) beds in 2 bedrooms were not comfortable & not really beds. 3) pillows flat, should have better pillows and top sheets. Hot days & only covers are comforters when we should have had a sheet. 4) too many trinkets and objects all around the surfaces, floors, etc. that made it awkward walking around or using the bathroom counters for fear of knocking something over. 5) the stairs are permanent so nothing can be done about that except to put a marking on bottom landing or use carpet to distinguish the illusion of no more step. I fell off the landing and bumped my head and bruised up and scraped my right knee and leg and arm. My husband fell twice off the bottom landing but was able to catch himself. We moved the front door carpet to the landing to avoid future problems. 6) kitchen has for my family a very undesirable smell. No one wanted to use the kitchen due to smell. 7) the quiet zone was supposed to be 11:00pm. Every night way past midnight there were people/ neighbors outside having loud gatherings while we were trying to sleep. 8) tripping hazard with chords from floor lamps.

Would stay again!
Lovely flat in a quiet neighborhood! 3 bed, 3 bath well appointed unit, very private and close to shops, pubs, and the underground. Only negatives would be that there is no A/C and can get a tad warm depending on the weather, and the floor level bed is not comfortable at all. Overall 5 star, would love to come back!

Authentic location and great value
I stayed in late November to visit my daughter at university so the neighborhood vibe might differ from other reviews. I found the location VERY quiet maybe because there appeared to be no occupant in the other half of what was a very cool privately gated "carriage house". I learned from one of the offerings in the extensive library that "mews" refers to a London style home converted from a former horse and carriage garage with stable hand quarters on the upper levels. The converted home is VERY well done with original exposed sandblasted timbers and comfortable with high end fixtures. I can report I had none of the reported issues with lack of hot water. Heat worked well after I realized I could adjust the individual radiators in the rooms I was occupying. I can imagine the bedroom situation being challenging for some groups. The main bed is a cozy open loft situation with an additional pull out bed on the each of the lower two floors. So best maybe for single couple plus kids or single guests. The walk to Borough tube station on the Northern line was a mere 3 minutes.

Close, but not perfect
Good location for making your way around the city with two solid stations within a short walk. The place has Great bathrooms, fine bedrooms and a decent kitchen and living space. The immediate surrounding area was unsettling, dirty and not attractive. We found the street to be noise at almost all hours. If you can get past that, it is close to East End’s Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market, which we came to appreciate at the end of our trip.

Why they chose this property

A vivacious neighbourhood near the river’s edge that attracts all kinds; journalists can frequently be seen buzzing in and out of the News Building, where The Times and the Wall Street Journal resides, while stall traders sell their wares at nearby Borough market. As you exit London Bridge station you’ll find yourself at the foot of 310m monolith The Shard. Transformed in recent years, the neighbourhood now has countless exciting spots to eat, drink and be (very) merry.
