Secluded 4 bed farmhouse in 2 acres - with wood fired hot tub near Llangrannog

Bedrooms 4
Space 1,506 sq. ft.
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Former farmhouse in own grounds, secluded and very peaceful location with stream

Beautiful holiday home set in extensive grounds and located near to the village of Llangrannog within walking distance of pubs, cafe and Blue Flag beach. We have a wood fired soaking tub which seats 8 set in private garden setting. Recently renovated former farmhouse with luxury kitchen and bathroom and literally acres of private space to relax and enjoy the countryside. The farmhouse sleeps 7 (+1) in 4 bedrooms – one king-size, one double, a single and small bunk room. There is a large living / dining room with wood burning stove, smart TV and WiFi. We have a large elevated kitchen with triple aspect, window seats, island with seating, chaise sofa, range style cooker and the all important wine cooler. As part of renovations we installed a brand new luxury bathroom with free standing bath and walk-in drench shower. Access to basement room with free to use pool table and dart board. There is a small babbling stream flowing through the centre of the grounds with several separate garden areas to explore including a mini-orchard with apple, plum, pear and cherry trees, a small wooded area and 1 acre grassed field with football posts at the front of the property with grounds totalling 2 acres. The gardens are regularly visited by birds including Red Kite, Buzzard, Gold Finch, Bull Finch, Woodpecker, Tits, Nuthatch, Grey Wagtail, Wren, Jay, Goldcrest and more.

The wood fired hot tub is a hands on experience and guests will need to light the fire and add wood to the stove periodically to warm the water. There are no chemicals in the water,so along with the anti-bacterial properties of the western red cedar construction and the sterilising nature of the stove, both ensure a totally natural bathing experience. Best enjoyed on clear night to enjoy the dark skies with very little light pollution.

About Paul Connolly

After holidaying in Llangrannog for the last 6 years, Cil-y-Gorwel came up for sale. It was in a sorry state after a fire in the kitchen leaving the house open to the elements and severely damaged. As keen DIY'rs (and with the help of some excellent local tradesmen) my wife and I took the plunge and purchased the property with the view to breathing some life back into it and undertaking a complete renovation. Hopefully you will be able to see from the photographs that we are starting to achieve our end goal to completely transform the property. We visit the house as much as possible and just love the area and friendly warm welcome we have received from the local community.

Paul Connolly purchased this farmhouse in 2015

Idyllic, lovingly restored and cosy retreat, ideal for a family or group getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was wonderful - we loved the massive kitchen, log burner in the cosy lounge and luxurious bathroom. The grounds are tranquil and beautiful, with the log-fired hot tub the cherry on the top.

Fantastic family break

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely amazing place and will definitely be going back.

All of the family Loved everything about the place with ages from 14 to 78 it has something for everyone.

Paul and Cath have thought of absolutely everything with books, games, WiFi, TV’s with Netflix and made us feel at ease as soon as we arrived.

The kitchen is stunning and has everything needed from making a cup of tea to a Sunday roast.

The hot tub is amazing especially as the night draws in being outside in the warm was something else.

Great location for places to visit such as Cardigan and New Quay

We have found our new best place to be.

Thanks for letting us stay and can’t wait for the next memory making stay away from the happy Harford family

lovely house, gardens , stream and hot tub

  • 4 of 5

Just had a late booking at Cil Y Gorwel .

We were allowed to bring our dog , and I think he had the best time ever . He loved the big gardens either side of house to play and the many walks from the doorstep , man beaches and coves to visit ,

Poppit Sands just down from St Dogmaels is a doggie heaven . We arrived at 4 to a very welcoming basket of goodies from Paul and Cath ( think that always makes for a good impression to begin with . Shows the owners care about making u feel welcome .

Kitchen and main Bathroom super . Loads of room and plenty of seats . Games room under kitchen would b great if u r bringing the family . Bedrooms all fine . Clean and tidy And simply furnished .

Outside there is so much room

loved sitting dangling feet in little stream going round perimeter of one side of garden .

Hot tub , once fired up is super

was not a fan first time I used , ( but didn't get it hot enough)

once u sit in it for the second time it's just brilliant , whiled away hour and a half just sitting in warm water listening to the birds ( especially the local owl) and looking up at the sky .

Was so impressed we are making enquiries about getting one for our home .

Had a great week , lovely house , brill garden beautiful places to visit , and a wonderful hot tub to come back to .

Will come again .

Great place for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

The house is lovely, especially the kitchen and bathroom and the garden is wonderful. It feels as if you are really away from it all but its only a couple of miles to Llangrannog - perfect. We had a great holiday - there was everything we needed in the house and it was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

lovely farmhouse, in a wonderful location.

Beautiful kitchen area and comfortable lounge with spacious bedrooms and a lovely bathroom

Gems room great for the kids and adults!

Lovely gardens and paddocks all well kept and pretty, loved by our kids and our border collie.

Hot tub was lovely, if a long process to get warm.

One of the most well equipped, cared for holiday homes we have ever visited, and it is a real credit to the owners and the effort they have obviously gone to, to ensure their guests have a relaxing, away from it all break
