Overview

About the property

The setting of this granary is perfect for anyone wanting to get away from it all, but still be under an hour from London. To take advantage of the views the house is set upside down with a sitting room complete with French doors on the first floor and the luxury bedroom, well equipped kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor.

Venture into the large garden and you may be visited by the cows in the neighbouring fields, see kites flying overhead and find the great addition of an acrtic cabin!

The arctic cabin is an amazing experience, light a fire or BBQ in the centre and hang out together or even pop the beds up and sleep out. It is a very posh way of camping!

The Chiltern rambling path runs past the end of the garden making it perfect to take advantage of the panoramic views, ancient beech woods and rolling farmland. Walking down this path for a mile you will come across the cute village of West Wycombe offering a public house, shops and the tourist attraction of Hellfire Caves. The Chiltern Granary can be perfect for couples or groups looking for something different, quirky and fun!

wonderful escape to the english countryside!

  • 5 of 5

The Chiltern Granary was delightful--so much better than we had hoped! Lovely setting, yet so close to High Wycombe for all the town's amenities-shopping, train station, etc... and of course the Hughendon Manor (National Trust)....just the English countryside at it's best with soul-refreshing views and countryside walks for miles. We enjoyed the privacy of the cottage and the garden-and the well-finished interior with comfortable bed, well-stocked kitchen and lovely sitting room. We will come back again. Best of all our family dog was welcomed and made friends with the many cows who grazed outside our garden. John was ever so accommodating when we had questions and we felt the friendliness of his home and neighborhood. VERY RESTFUL PLACE-we feel so refreshed and look forward to our next time in England. We highly recommend this lovely home.

Location

Great rambling paths and set around 6 miles from High Wycombe (direct train to London). Also a ten minute drive to the M40 giving it great access.
