Overview

About the property

2 Room Cabin (w/Electric, But No Plumbing). Privy And Hand Water Pump (Potable)

We purchased this property 12 years ago and have made many memories here. Our desire is to provide an opportunity for other families and individuals to make their own memories at the lake.

Our cabin is on a no wake, electric motor only lake. The fishing on our lake is phenomenal (WDNR Quality Fishing Lake). The Cabin itself, has electricity and heat, but no indoor plumbing. Drinking water is available from a pitcher pump. All of this is located on a wooded 2 acres

This vacation get-a-way is specifically for those looking for a quiet camping experience, without having to worry about the discomforts of using a tent and noisy campgrounds. It is a simple 2 room cottage that is exceptionally well kept. It includes a futon, roll-a-way bed and 2 cots for sleeping. It also has a small refrigerator and microwave. The kitchen nook is perfect for meals and there are a number of cabinets that may be used for storage space. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our cabin despite it's rustic nature.

Enjoy Lake Jacqueline on the pier or in a boat (a paddle boat, 2 kayaks and a 14' rowboat are available for use free of charge during your stay). Lake Jacqueline is perfect for fishing, kayaking, wildlife viewing and other silent sports. Fish Rock Cabin is located on the sparsely populated North end of the Lake, near the Portage County Lake Jacqueline Nature Preserve. Come enjoy our comfortable family friendly camping cabin.

Why Andrew Selle chose Custer

Fish Rock Cabin is a quiet get-a-way that we have now chosen to share with other families. The privacy and location are perfect for those looking to spend the week or weekend relaxing. It is a place to make memories and come back to year after year.

What makes this cabin unique

Our property is very simple. It consists of a cabin similar to what might be found in a State park. The advantage is you get the entire property to yourself.

Great Weekend Get Away!

  • 5 of 5

Clean cabin on a peaceful lake! We had a great time in the kayaks and around the fire. Perfect for a family weekend away from home.

A senic retreat setting

  • 4 of 5

A clean, well maintained "no frills" cabin in a private lakeside setting. Andrew, the owner, provides kayaks and a fishing boat. A loon nests just across the water. Peaceful, serene, and quiet amidst nature.

Peace and beauty in God's creation

  • 5 of 5

Fish Rock is a wonderful piece of God’s creation! I have been a science teacher for over 40 years but there is nothing like immersion in God’s creation to really appreciate it. I enjoyed the constant serenade of the red wing blackbirds claiming what Andrew thought was his as their own territory. I saw the seriousness of that defense out in the meadow beyond the marsh when a sandhill crane wondered into a blackbird’s territory. The blackbird bombed the huge crane, the crane jump turned as only cranes can do, missed the quicker blackbird and the battle continued until the nest

There are many cabins on the lake but i saw 3 boats (fishing) in my whole time there. It was like having the lake to myself!

I enjoyed the swallows feeding off insects over the top of the water. I enjoyed the Canada geese. Sometimes when they came in the pair did a duet that sounded like a different bird. Sometimes it was so quiet that you could hear the sound of the air through the wings. I really like the way God does stuff!

Then there was the loon! She filled my spotting scope from the porch or the picnic table. I will miss her as she hatches those two eggs and the chicks ride on her back and growing to be ready to fly to Florida when the lake is about to freeze.

Then there are the stars! I am an astronomy teacher and with a projector that costs thousands of dollars I project the stars on the planetarium dome but it is not close to the beauty of the real thing!

R-E-L-A-X in N-A-T-U-R-E! Great Fishing & environment to Get Away.

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time. The fishing was great (catch & release is my personal preference). Very quiet with time to read out on the boat or around the campfire. Andrew is very knowledgeable about the lake and area for any questions you may have. Andrew was also very responsive to a small issue I had. Having the boat is a great asset for me. Enjoyed just rowing around the lake & lily pads to get a bit of exercise. I would do this again if I have an opportunity.

Remember this is similar to camping without a tent. Cabin was very clean & comfortable. Did not spend a lot of time inside it, except to sleep. Understand there is no running water in the cabin (pump outside) and there is a modern port-a-potty outside. Thanks to Andrew for sharing this Central Wisconsin Wonder!

Quiet, relaxing; just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 dogs were looking to get away from the craziness of life and this was just what we needed. Simple, quiet, relaxing. We really enjoyed the toys available for us to use and the warmth of the cabin when it rained. Listening to and seeing the loons was very cool. Would recommend this place to anyone who does not mind not having plumbing. I can see us coming back soon!
