Beautiful restored Spanish Revival single family one story home in a quiet residential neighborhood. Easy street parking (with my guest permit). Lovely front courtyard with tables for outdoor dining. Good wi fi throughout the house and front courtyard.

House is well-stocked with laundry supplies, loads of towels, all kitchen appliances, condiments, paper towels, saran wrap, etc.

Refinished hardwood floors, bathrooms with tile stall showers. Walk to Trader's Joe's, Whole Foods Market, the Original Farmer's Market, the famous Grove.and unique shops and restaurants on nearby W. Third Street. The Beverly Center mall is 1/2 mile away. Queen bed in both bedrooms, and trundle beds in office. Full bed can be installed in office for small extra charge.

There is a printer for your use on the guest bedroom desk and there is a treadmill and an elliptical trainer if you want to exercise. Cleaning service can be arranged for longer stays.

No pets allowed. This is a non-smoking property.

About Rochelle D. Ventura

I have lived in Los Angeles for over 70 years and am retired from the City of Los Angeles and County of Los Angeles. My family moved here from New York during World War II when I was 6 years old. . I grew up in the area and raised my son and daughter in this house. Over the years I have collected sculpture and art from California artists which is displayed in the house.

Currently, I live with Phil half time in San Jose and half time in this house in Los Angeles. The house is listed for rent during the times we am not in Los Angeles.

I have studied architecture and design and frequently travel abroad to check out cities throughout the world.

I love this area and am happy to share my home with visitors to Los Angeles. Everyone seems to like it a lot.

Why Rochelle D. Ventura chose Beverly Grove

My home was built in 1929 in the older Spanish Revival style architecture. You will enjoy staying here if you prefer an older home with spacious rooms and unique architectural features.

I purchased the house from the original owners in 1971 so I am only the second person to own this house.

Over the last 47 years I have lovingly restored the house, retaining almost all the details and finishes that make it special while, of course, adding electric outlets, wifi, modern appliances, central heat and air-conditioning, etc. The house has its original hardwood floors, original toilets (without tanks) and lots of storage.

I added the front courtyard in 2001 after seeing the famous patios in Seville, Spain. Everything in the courtyard is authentic to the period of the house. The fountain (turned off for now because of the drought) was built from tiles copied from those in the Santa Barbara courthouse. The pavers are "Rue 71" a reclaimed street I purchased in Europe and had shipped to Los Angeles. The beams in the covered dining area were stenciled by a painter that used to work in Barcelona. The courtyard has been a favorite area for outdoor dining for many of my former guests.

There is also a lovely "Palm Court" backyard featuring 9 Kenya palm trees, Bird of Paradise plants, and Meyer lemon and Key West lime trees (help yourself).

What makes this house unique

The unique benefit of this house is its location. LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, is within walking distance, as are the Peterson Automotive Museum and the Arts and Crafts Museum. The Original Famers Market and The Grove are also within walking distance in the other direction, as are the convenient Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market and CVS Drug Store. You can walk to public transportation and connect up with the Los Angeles subway system. You can walk to the pick up points for the ON OFF bus and several other sightseeing buses.

The house is very spacious and comfortable. I provide plenty of paper supplies, laundry supplies and you are welcome to use my tea, coffee, condiments, oils, saran and foil, etc.

There is also a beautiful backyard. Lounge chairs are in the garage if you like to stretch out and read.

The house works great for two couples and for families with children.

Beautiful, well appointed home

Three couples stayed here for 11 nights. We all agreed that the house was beautiful, well cared for, quiet, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted. A beautiful courtyard surrounded the house on theee sides. The house was large enough to have one table that easily seats twelve and another one around the corner that sat four to six. The owner left good information on the house and nearby museums, restaurants and shopping. She was a wonderful hostess. She was quick to respond to our emails. We all would definitely stay here again! The public transportation was also convenient.

We had a wonderful time visiting LA and staying in Rochelle's home. It was exactly what we wanted. It has a very nice outdoor space and the inside was comfortable and the perfect size for our family of 6. Its location is perfect as well. Beautiful Gem in the heart of the city

My family and I (2 adults, 2 pre-teens, 1 infant) stayed here and had a wonderful time. The house is well located within walking distance to coffee, the Grove, restaurants, LAMCA, grocery stores. Great location for pushing around a stroller and having things to do with the older kids. The porch and back area were great outdoor hangouts which made the house feel even larger. Having so much within walking distance was a great way to somewhat beat the LA traffic -- we would get an early start to do driving stuff in the morning and spend the later afternoons around the house and walking to places.

Rochelle is incredibly sweet and accommodating. A wonderful host who made sure we had everything we needed and ensured the house was well stocked with necessities. We would definitely stay here again. The kids said this was their most favorite vacation!

Nice house, nice area

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in this home. It is in a cute neighborhood. I jogged on the sidewalks one morning and it felt very safe and the smell of all of the neighbors flowers was amazing. The outside of the house has lots of seating for enjoying the weather or eating outside and the inside was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property- great location!

Wonderfully maintained 1929 house and perfect for a family of 4. Close to restaurants on W3rd, The Farmer’s Market, LACMA, La Brea Tar pits. Short Uber trips to Beverly Hills / Hollywood. 30-40 minutes from LAX, 15 minites from UCLA. Highly recommend staying here

I love this house!!!

We stayed here with 3 teenagers and it was perfect. The outdoor courtyard was beautiful and gave us room to spread out. The house is in an adorable neighborhood. We never had any trouble parking right in front of our house. We even walked to The Grove and didn’t have to deal with parking. The house is in a great location to tour LA. Rochelle was also so easy and helpful to work with. We’d definitely stay there again!!!

Car: not necessary

The house is located within walking distance to the Original Farmers Market and the Grove, both worth visits and both with loads of good restaurants. You can pick up a variety of sightseeing buses at the Original Farmers Market. The La Brea Tar Pits, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Folk Art and Crafts Museum and the Peterson Automotive Museum are also within walking distance.
