This lovely, just-renovated cottage is the perfect place from which to explore all that Charleston has to offer without needing a car. Located just inside the up-and-coming East Side area of downtown, this home is located within walking distance of both historic downtown Charleston and the trendy new Upper King district.

There is three bedroom and two full bathroom. The home is two levels, with a cozy living room with full kitchen with bar height dining table and laundry on the second floor, all beds are queen sized beds. A striking historic decorative fireplace serves as the spine of the house. The restored original hardwood floors throughout connect you to the history of this home with each step.

All linens, towels and toiletries are provided. There is a flat-screen television in the family room, with full cable and Netflix and Wifi.

This home has two off-street parking spaces. There is an outdoor porch with rocking chairs and a courtyard with a gas grill and picnic table.

Why Mike Elder chose Charleston

I'm originally from New York but fell in love with Charleston over ten years ago and didn't leave. The East Side is one of the most interesting areas of the city in my opinion, close to everything while still not being fully gentrified.

What makes this house unique

Able to walk to all of Charleston's popular destinations downtown and on Upper King, while also having easy access to the area housing the newly-renovated Cigar Factory make the East Side the place to be for urban, engaged people.

Nice House!

The house was very nice and my family really enjoyed the stay here. The house is very nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable and I loved the pillows! The house is in an up and coming neighborhood, but we never felt uncomfortable. Really loved that there was parking available. Mike was a great host and responded quickly with communication.

Great place that was close to everywhere we wanted to go.

The three of us had a great time. Everywhere we planned to go in Charleston was either a walk or a short lyft ride away. I would recommend this spot.

Great house in a great location!

The house was the perfect size and had everything you could want. We had 5 adults and a dog and had more than enough room. The house is beautifully decorated with huge bedrooms. The neighborhood could look a little shady to some, but we never felt unsafe, even coming home late at night, on late night dog walks and early morning runs. The house is within walking distance of most locations you would want to visit while you're in Charleston, but Uber and the DASH shuttle are always an option if necessary. Mike was great and very responsive every time we had to reach out to him. I would for sure stay there again!

Very Nice Property

Our group enjoyed our stay here. The place is well appointed, plenty of space for 3 couples. The only draw back was street noise at night and the area around it although improving you just have to be mindful if you are walking early morning/late night. We walked easily as far as distance to the market , King street, the water etc... we also enjoyed taking a bike taxi back the last night at a reasonable cost.

Owner's Response: The house is downtown so there is city noise in the evenings but having the convince to walk everywhere should outweigh this noise if you’re looking for this convenience. To help with the noise I have put table fans and there are ceiling fans in each room to give ambient noise. Also there is a tv in the front first floor bedroom. The neighborhood is in its traditional stage very to close to being one of the most disirable areas of the city to be in a few years out and very safe, of course be aware of your surroundings especially at night in any part of the city. To get to King street it’s directly West and only 2 blocks away and an easy walk at anytime of the day/night. My welcome guide gives more insight and suggestions on the area to help guide you during your stay.

Great Place!

The place was great! It is perfect for traveling with others. We had our own space downstairs. It was great for my dogs as well, there are doors to keep them away from the upstairs so they weren't bothering my in-laws.The location is up and coming. I was able to check out some areas I haven't been able to in the past. Be a mindful traveler and you'll be fine! Mike was great with communication and sending me everything we needed!

Better than expected...

Charleston is strange as there is a sharp divide between very nice and very sketchy in merely two blocks. The house sits right near that divide, but don't let the location fool you. It is a safe neighborhood despite looks and a quick walk to any of the nicer restaurants, bars and coffee shops closer to King and Spring Streets. The house is a part of a small cluster of rentals where you share parking space with other tenants. The parking is rudimentary but nice to have off of the street. It could use some trimming down the fence line to avoid scraping cars while parking close to the fence as possible.

The inside of the home was shockingly beautiful. Very well decorated and put together. The renter made sure everything was well stocked and well cleaned before we arrived. The only surprise was a South Carolina famous palmetto bug waiting on me to kill when we first opened the door. That and the fact the TV output did not work (no picture despite sound) was our only disappointment. Did not see any more bugs or have any surprises for the rest of the trip.

We only had two people stay in the home, but it would easily sleep 6 very comfortably with two showers and plenty of closet space and room to get ready before going out to see the beach or out on the town.

Overall, this place was excellent and for the value with a last minute July 4th booking, we were very happy. Thanks Mike!
