Nestled on the Wild Atlantic Way on the beautiful Valentia Island, this traditional farmhouse offers an instant sense of relaxation and tranquillity with lovely sea views from the house and gardens. Built by ‘Dan’, the island school teacher, in the 19th century, the farmhouse has been lovingly restored, yet retains many of its original features such as deep window sills and panelled ceilings. The island is reached by either a bridge from Portmagee or by car ferry (Apr–Oct) from Renard Point. There are many wonderful walks on this scenic island, with archaeological and historical sites to explore. The holiday home lies just ½ mile from the small village of Chapeltown and less than 2 miles from the charming fishing villages of Knightstown with the Altazamuth Walk, tennis courts, playground and coffee shop, and Portmagee where you can enjoy a pint of Guinness whilst listening to traditional music. Take a boat trip to the glorious and rugged Skellig Islands or take a day trip to the Dingle Peninsula which boasts fine dining, sea angling, arts, film festivals and some of the best surfing in Ireland. Beach 3 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
