Cristaluz comprises of 15 privately owned apartments, all the apartments are south facing and have sea views. This super 1st floor end apartment has a large wrap around balcony overlooking the pool with wonderful views of the Black Rock & Sea & is ideal for alfresco dining. The Large lounge/dining room is bright & airy & has 2 patio doors leading onto the front & side balconies there is 2 bedrooms 1 double 1 twin both with fitted wardrobes dressing table & bedside cabinets there are 2 bathrooms the master bedroom is ensuite with a large bow window, with views of the ocean & black rock the guest bedroom overlooks the pool & has a sea views, both bathrooms have bath shower bidet & vanity unit. The modern fitted kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine dishwasher fridge freezer full cooker microwave & toaster. The large swimming pool is heated in season and is security coded for the private use of these apartments with free sun beds & shades there is also a small children’s pool. WI Fi available free if charge.

Area Information: Within the centre of the village is the church of Nossa Senhora da Luz (Our lady of light) from which the village takes its name. There is also a 17 Century Fortress which is now a restaurant with spectacular Views. Visit the old walled town of Lagos with its narrow winding streets & numerous shops & restaurants. About 40km inland is the Scenic Monchique Mountain range & beautiful old spa town of Cladas de Monchique. Right along the western coast at the tip is Cape St Vincent and its lighthouse with magnificent views originally thought to be the end of the world. Other places to visit is Sagres along the western coast & the old inland town of Silves with its history. Or just visit any of the small in land villages were you will be welcomed by the Portuguese people & try some of the local food such as chicken piri-piri (chicken marinated in hot spices) or a Cataplana which is a type of fish seafood or meat stew cooked slowly in a round copper dish with lid with wonderful flavours.

Activities and Restaurants: The Algarve is famous for its Golf and within 30 minutes drive from Praia da Luz is the world famous Penina Golf Course, more locally within 5 to 10 mins drive are 4 Golf courses Boavista Parque da Floresta Belavista & Palmares. You can go Dolphin watching or big game fishing or book a sightseeing cruises are go on a boat trip to the nearby grottoes & sea caves, you are also only a short drive to the surfing beaches of the west coast.

Luz is an excellent place to learn to dive with its PADI certificate diving school and is on the edge on of the regions largest Nature reserves Costa Vicentin. For those who love the countryside Horse Riding is nearby. Locally there is tennis courts, water skiing, jet skiing, banana rides, paragliding and windsurfing. There are restaurants to suit all tastes including Beach and Local restaurants Atlantico A Concha, English, Pizza, Chinese, and Indian and the ever popular Onda Luz there is also cafe snack bars and more up market restaurants such as Aquario Forteleza & Dolphin South African Restaurants.

Management/ Maid Service Apartment Info: Luz Services is a Management Agency situated in Luz and looks after the apartment & maid service they will arrange for your keys and help you with any enquiries you may have they speak excellent English & you will be given a telephone number in the event of an emergency. The maid service is twice weekly your apartment is cleaned & prepared for you arrival a small clean & change of towels mid week with a small clean & change of linen and towels after 1 week this is repeated until you leave when the apartment is prepared for the next guest. There is a book in the Apartment with general information re the apartment & facilities it will also give details of restaurants we like and worth trying. John & I have been coming to Luz since 1982 & love it so much we decided to buy this apartment and we have tried to make it as comfortable as possible with every facility you need. John and I first visited Luz in 1982 and fell in love with it and we visited many times so in 2006 we decided to purchase our apartment in Luz as we love the friendly welcome you get from all the great restaurants and bars and the lovely sandy beach.

We chose this first floor apartment at Cristaluz

because of the great views from all the good sized rooms and the wonderful view of the sea and black rock from the balcony as the apartment is an end one the apartment has 2 sets of patio doors which makes the apartment lovely and bright. We also chose this apartment because it had 2 bathrooms and a large fully fitted kitchen.

What makes this apartment unique

As I love swimming the added benefit was the heated swimming pool with sun bed terrace and gardens,which is for the private use of the 15 apartments, also the apartment is ideally situated in the centre of the village therefore it is close to the beach and the restaurants bars and supermarkets. As we use this apartment as a second home it has all the amenities you will require.

The apartment was wonderfull and more than lived up to its description. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and air conditioning was available in the living area and both bedrooms.

The Balcony was superb overlooking the quiet pool and facing out to sea.

The excellent Bapista Supermarket was just 2 mins walk away and the beach a little further on.

Praia da Luz is an excellent resort, quite with loads of eating places and close to other great resorts such as Lagos Burgau and Salema.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would recommend the apartment without hesitation. It was so superior to your average holiday let

Please note there are 12 wide steps from the entrance foyer to the apartment door the apartment all on one level. The Apartment is 6 years old and is furnished and equipped to a high standard and is like a home from home. The lounge/dining room is large light and spacious with seating for 6 people it has patio doors on the front and side leading to the large wrap around balcony it has the benefit of full satelite TV, incl Movies and Sport a CD Player with radio and Air conditioning for the summer months and heating for the winter months if required. The large circular balcony has a dining table and 4 chairs for alfresco dining with views of the sea it also has 2 sun beds but there are more free sunbeds around the pool.The kitchen is modern and fully fitted with built in cooker washing machine dishwasher & fridge freezer it also has a microwave toaster & kettle Iron & Ironing board and is fully equipped to the standard of your home kitchen.The bedrooms are both double and are spacious

Fantastic apartment with a wonderful view

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment very much. It is bright, very clean well maintained and equiped with everything you could need. The furniture is excellent quality and very comfortable. The view from the terrace of the apartment was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed waking up each morning to such a beautiful view. Luz is a fun little town with many nice restaurants, a lovely promenade along the ocean and the people are warmhearted and very friendly. Lagos is only about 10 minutes away and it offers more shopping and restaurants with an old historical part of town to wonder around in. If I could give this apartment more stars I would. We highly recommend this apartment, it was perfect in every way. You can not go wrong by choosing it.

Great apartment in a well cared for small block with good sea views

Although we had the worst weather we have ever had during our winter breaks on the Algarve, this apartment saved the day. Despite 14 days of heavy rain, gale force winds and lower temperatures than normal, the air-conditioned heating kept us warm and toasty and the well equipped apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable break. We caught what sun there was on the wrap around balcony and one of our party even swam in the icy cold pool. When it was too wet to venture out we could catch up on British TV, read one of the vast library of books, or watch a video. Luz itself is a quiet resort and you ought to know that in the winter it can feel deserted at times. However there are nice cafes by the beach and at night one or two restaurants open for business. We enjoyed our meal at the Atlantico, not inexpensive but a nice atmosphere and the chef came personally to check we had enjoyed our meal. For shopping, although prices will be lower at the Spar and Baptiste supermarkets, don't miss a visit to Supermercado António on Rue do Praia. There's a cafe up front and the staff are really friendly and willing to give you lessons in Portuguese.

This apartment was spotless, very comfortable and a view that was spectacular.

Location was perfect being close to the town center, restaurants, stores and the beach.

Lovely winter sunshine

We had a wonderful 10 days in this spacious, clean and comfortable apartment in late December/early January. A small teething problem was dealt with rapidly and effectively by the management company. It is perfectly situated for walking to the local supermarkets and down to the sea front. We had beautiful, peaceful walks along the coastal paths, but the fabulous views from the balcony mean you don't have to leave the apartment to enjoy the sunshine and ocean. We most certainly hope to return next year!

This is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. It was immaculate, spacious and extremely well-equipped. The balcony is large and has a beautiful view. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of beds and umbrellas. I would fully recommend this apartment.

A superbly appointed apartment in a great location

Thank you for letting us rent your apartment for our holiday this year - we were absolutely delighted! - everything is just as we would wish it to be, we were so comfortable and relaxed! The apartment is very well appointed and maintained, very tastefully decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard - a real home from home - we were not left wanting for anything, everything is provided. Great attention to detail is clearly visible. The cleaning service is also of the highest standard, with very efficient, courteous and friendly staff. Outside, magnificent views over the sea and over Luz are provided in all directions from the large wrap-around balcony - it is ideally suited to sit out and sunbathe in the day, or to sit out in the warm night air - either to have a meal or just take in the night lights of both Luz and the fishing boats out at sea. The apartment is located in a small, well-appointed, high quality complex, close to the beach and all necessary amenities.

My wife and I have holidayed in Luz many times in the past, but we never tire of returning each year. Luz is a very friendly resort, close to the local port of Lagos, and with excellent facilities and many good restaurants. Amongst these the highly rated ‘Onda Luz’ restaurant - providing superb Algarvian and Portuguese cuisine - is one that really must be must be sampled. Whichever way you venture, a very wide choice of fresh fish and seafood is available everywhere along the Algarve.

I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough - without doubt, we will certainly return!

Cristaluz is in the prime location of Praia da Luz on Rua da Ramalhete and is a 5 minuet walk through waterside gardens and the pretty bougainvillea Boa Pesca to the beach traffic free & palm tree promenade, the beaches on the western Algarve are some of the best with the blue flag golden sandy beach of Praia da Luz being one of them. Praia da Luz is a village with several restaurants bars & cocktail bars or why not sit at one of the beach side cafe bars & watch the world go by and listen to the lapping of the ocean, or try a meal at the 18th century Fort, there are restaurants here to suite all tastes & Praia da Luz is a great resort for both couples or families & is ideally situated 5 minuets drive or taxi ride (or catch a bus) to the old town of Lagos with its many shops bars & restaurants were you can sit in one of the cafe bars in the narrow winding streets or watch some of the local artist in the church square, for a more cosmopolitan feel visit the Marina with its Yachts & few chic restaurants.
