A privileged place in a privileged surrounding. El Candado is an urbanisation with a nine holes golf course, marina and a hospitable social club on a hill in descent to the Mediterranean Sea.

The villa has several levels descending till the garden with a swimming pool, just 75 m. from the beach. From all and every room, even the bathrooms, we can contemplate the Bay. It has a parking for two big cars and a lift for 6 persons.

Excellent surveillance service 24 hours. Water tank reserve for 30 days. Supermarket, pharmacy, medical center, police, fire Dpt., commercial center, cinemas, council marketplace, etc. at less than 10 minutes. Terral, torrid westerly summer wind from the inlands, is more rare here than in Málaga center, due to our location at the eastern extreme of the bay.

Beautiful villa with great views

Perfect villa for our stay, more than enough room for 12 of us (6 adults and 6 kids). The villa is huge and has a great outdoor area. Felix and Luis were very welcoming and showed us around the villa and gave us information about the local area. It was Malaga holiday week so no supermarkets were open on the Sunday/Monday so Luis took us to a shop in the town where we could buy food. The local beach and seafood restaurants are nearby, we found meals and drinks to be very reasonably priced. Malaga is only a short drive away or the bus is only €1.50. The kids spent most of the week in the pool as we relaxed in the sunshine. Great holiday in a beautiful villa!

Fabulous Villa. But problems

First of all I would like to say that the villa is fabulous and very spacious.

But we were mislead on booking that there was a lift and 8 bedrooms. We were told that there was no lift and only 6 bedrooms after booking but no reduction in price was offered.

Also it’s a billiard table not a pool table and the dart board is broken.

We were advised on arrival to wear shoes when operating the dishwasher as u will get an electric shock if not!! Very worrying.

The oven door broke 3 days before we left, the handle fell off in my hands and then the glass smashed to the floor almost cutting my legs. The oven was replaced the following day but on leaving the property the owner accused me of breaking it and said they were keeping my deposit. They also accused me of breaking a pool cleaner when all of their equipment was locked away by themselves. No proof of this was ever shown or explained to us before the end of our holiday.

All in all this is a lovely place but please be aware that if anything goes wrong u will be accused of all sorts.

Since returning I have emailed the owner and he has ignored all correspondence.

Great Villa for family holiday.

We were a party of two couples with our grown up children (26 - 31), so 10 adults in total.Loui (the owner) sent us a link to Google maps with the best route to take from the airport to the villa, which was a very easy 25 minutes drive. As others have mentioned Loui met us at the villa and took us on a very informative tour of area. He is an extreemly nice gentleman and justifiably proud of the Villa. The villa is huge, immaculately clean, with white marble floors . The air conditioning is excellent throughout, with the exception of the top floor twin room, at the hight of the summer, this room may get too warm to sleep in.

The villa is 4 double/twin bedrooms with 2 ensuite and three other bathrooms. However two of the lounges contain excellent sofa beds, you can use these as bedrooms.

The villa is very well equipped, with every thing you need. Downstairs is fantastic with a huge lounge/kitchen/diner leading to the pool area with barbeque and patio with seating for 16 with a great view down to the beach. When you are in the villa this is where you will spend your time. On our first day we couldn't find any beach towels, we didn't want to use the nice fluffy white towels in the rooms. I called Loui to inform him, and within an hour he dropped off 10 new beach towels. Excellent service.

The beach is about 10/15 min walk where you will find loads of good fish restaurants(bit of an uphill walk on the way back though). El Candado Beach club is worth a visit, we spent an afternoon their (12am-6pm) and they charged us €73 for 10 sunbeds and 5liters of water. They also do about 5 different versions of paella, we tried 3 of them and they were brilliant. If you want paella, this is where to go.

There is a small supermarket on the urbanization, which is reasonably well stocked, however within a 7 minutes drive there is a huge hypermarket and shopping mall, including Zara. A 5 min drive will take you into the local town El Palo, a nice town with lots if shops and restaurants. You can walk along the beach all the way to Malaga, but it's about 8k, an easier option is by Taxi it's only €10 and we got them to pick us up at the villa using the uber or Cabbify.

There is a nice, well maintained 9 hole golf club on the urbanization. For two sets of clubs with trolleys and green fees (for 9 holes) it was €60 in total.

For the energetic in your party, you can also hire the tennis court for €10 per hour.

Beautiful Malaga villa overlooking the sea

My wife and I, along with our adult children, enjoyed a wonderful week at this beautiful villa outside Malaga. Our host, Luis, was pleasant and helpful with our vacation. Luis greeted us upon our arrival to show us around the home, and then drove us around the neighborhood showing us the choices for groceries, restaurants, beaches, etc. The house is quite large and roomy, with many sizeable bedrooms all of which are private and quiet. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are in good condition. The villa has a number of rooms to spend family time in, with comfortable furniture and tasteful decorations. In particular, the bottom floor is a gigantic family room with its own sizeable kitchen and bathroom, along with a table for about 15 people and a pool table. This bottom floor accesses the back yard, where there is plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture, a barbecue, ping pong table and where we watched lovely sunsets each evening over the mountains on the other side of the sea.. There is a garage that fits 2 cars which was nice to have for our large van. The beach is just below the villa but the access requires about a 10-15 minute walk down the street and then across a busy road or over a pedestrian bridge (the return walk includes a fairly steep climb back up). There was a minor problem with small ants in one area of the kitchen (which should be easily resolved) and there were often a good amount of small flies when sitting on the lawn in the backyard (which may have been seasonal). There is a lemon and an orange tree which provided fresh fruits during our visit and was a nice treat for us. We did a day trip to Grenada (Alhambra) which was about an hour and a half scenic drive from the villa. Central Malaga is about a 15-20 minute drive where there were many good restaurants and a central shopping district. We all had a great time at this villa and my entire family would highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic holiday at this property. Plenty space and very comfortable. Well supplied with all you might need - just add food!

We enjoyed bbq each afternoon.

Having a pool, garden, table tennis etc was fab.

Great house and location!

Villa is magnificent, enough room for a big group of people, the beach is really good, good parking for two cars, good supermarkets near by if you have a car and Malaga is good place for a holiday.
